My scratch built model of Lisbon NH station.  The prototype is only a few miles away, and a local group led by Roger Robar  renovated it.  I took pictures, and worked from that.  It's been on the layout a couple of years now, and the roof is beginning to delaminate at the corner. Next time, use something better than Duco cement on the roof. I have since ballasted the track.  It has interior lighting and I hand painted all the passengers waiting for the train.

Texas Zepher.

That is a truly wonderful thing you did for your Dad. If he is anything like mine was, he is now with you in the train room when you are there, looking over your shoulder grinning ear to ear. I know mine is.

Show Me Something You Gave To, Received From, or Built with a Veteran!!!!

How about two of the three.   Last year my father (Sargent Major Army - Korea) started suffering from dementia to the point he could no longer stay at his house alone.  The facility that medicare provided seemed like a hospital.  I brought in a bunch of his own furniture and pictures, but he had nothing to do but watch TV and play bingo.  His layout would not fit so I designed this one to fit into a corner out of the orderly's way.  The the NCE Twin allowed us both to run trains together and the long cord allowed him to run the trains from his bed.  Unfortunately he found he was too feeble to work on it alone, so there was only progress when I could get there and visit.  It only lasted 3 months when I had to move him to an Alzhimer's care center, and now he is recently passed.  This is about as far as it got.   Now the little "hospital size" layout sits in my basement awaiting its new as of yet undecided fate.  I'm thinking I might finish it.

Show me another veterian related project past or present.....

I received this from my father (28th Division, 110th Regiment,  mortar company radio operator) upon his death in 1994.  It sat in a box for a long time until I renewed my interest in Model Railroading.  It is the yellow Revell Switch tower kit..

Let's get the November show Me thread rolling. This is sort of an interchange. The Steel Mill's own intra-plant railroad interchanges with the Heartland Division at this location.

Please show a six axle diesel locomotive.

Everybody is welcome to post and have fun.
