Well I didn't get a chance to work on Oliver's adventure today. I was busy for a while showing a visitor what i have to do when I rebuild an Apple IIe computer. He was quite amazed at how complex an old computer like that can be yet be simple enough that it can be torn down so easily for maintenance. Nothing much else went on except for picking my way through the bugs in the new Model railroader forums software.

Time to call it a night. See y'all tomorrow.

White stuff! As in snow?  Keep it up there.

Yep!  That be what we are supposed to get.  Not a whole lot...  1 to 3" of it by tomorrow night.  Won't even have to even clear the driveway most likely.  I'll try to get more done in the train room while the weather is doing nasty stuff out there.

I did finally make it down there tonight.  brought side 1 to my workbench in the layiout room, stared at it for a while, and realized I don't have a photo down there of what that side looks like.  So I meandered back upstairs ans read some of the goings on here and a couple other other sites.  then checked the news and the weather.  tyhen I went in the living room to feed the wood stove and decided to curl up by the nice warm stove.  That was a couple hours ago.  Had a nice nap, I did!

Time for bed I think, now that the house is now 76°F in here and is too hot ....  It is 36°F outside.  maybe I'll open a window for a few minutes.  See you all tomorrow.

Yeppers Jeffrey!

SN*W! Our way..just downwind for RAY! we are at the border of 1-3" and 2-4", I am hoping for the former, as it may not require shovelling! So Is MOH as I cannot shovel anymore. It takes me about 1 hour to manage to shovel a 3x5' path if more than 3".

When I was young and firm, I used to go shovelling driveways all  the time. Think kids today will get off their video games to come around? NO. *sigh*

Morning coffee in the diner...

GOOD SATURDAY MORNING!

Today is Saturday, Nov. 23rd, 2013!

Today's fun limmerick:

Honesty is something I find
that never gave me piece of mind
The harder I try
It seems the more that I lie
And they are catching up from behind

Today's weird words:

Jentation: breakfast

Ombrifuge: Shelter from the rain

Piste:a beaten path or trail made by an animal: more generally-any track or trail*

As used  in a sentence:

While on the piste, Jack and John had jentation in an ombrifuge!**

* I really don't understand this... I only highlight the WORD, and NOT the definition, but it "headers" the whole sentence on me!

**Really folks, the words are randomly selected and often just fall into the sentences!

I'm thinking the motor is bad, got some more tests to run, for now it sits in the shop.

Decisions for today, local train show? OR raking leaves? hmmmmm Confused Train show today, Confused leaves will be here tomorrow Whistling , better finish my coffee & cake, train show starts in an hour!!

Good morning. It's 45° with 100% humidity. The high will be 49°and feel like 44°.

Looks like it's gonna be a wet day. I don't foresee any interruptions today so I may get a chance to make Oliver's life difficult. He got a break yesterday.

No other plans.

Good Morning!!!

Coffee and a breakfast burrito please. Thanks

Mostly sunny, with a high near 29. Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 9. Wind chill values between zero and 5.

Ok, I found the back to top. Better have good aim….Hmm.Oops sorry Jeff, I may have reported you as abusiveEmbarrassed Whistling. I wonder how many times that’ll happen? Might be a good idea, since they are so small, to move that thing farther away from the report abuse button.

I must not do near what others do on these forums, because I have no issues with this at all. Unless it has something to do with not being able to log in under IE. Of course some can’t log out so it may have a lot to do with it.

Elevator is closed this weekend, appears harvest is officially over for most, just a few stragglers. That means Brenda is home and THAT means she is now, once again, in charge of my weekends.Sigh I know not what the hour brings.Laugh

OK. I guess I have to make the font bigger on the Word doc. Last version did it for me. That's ok, it is the copy and paste from the NWS that drops it, so I just need to make it the same after pasting to Word. And I have to make the font 1 size larger over all (from 10 to 11) than before.

 Morning All,

Currently it is 28 with an expexcted high of 45 under partly sunny skies.

W**k again today, but no s**w for the foreseeable future, so that is good. Store was not as busy yesterday as was expected, today may be a different story. Time will tell.

Probably will not get to w**k on train stuff for several days, maybe next weekend. W**k schedule, then Thanksgiving, then Black Friday, bbut have next weekend.

   Prayers to all in need.

Mornin' everyone!

Zoe, I'll have a cup of hot dark roast coffee and a couple of those glazed sour cream donuts over there...

Sun was out for a bit earlier this morning.  Has now disappeared for the rest of the day I think.  currently 35°F which will be the high they say for today in these parts.  I have lots of firewood so you know how I will be keeping warm.  Good stiff breese out there as well.  Gusts to 20+ mph. Sn*w possible this afternoon with sn*w falling tonight (couple inches or so).

I plan to spend some time actually accomplishing some things related to trains today!  Time will tell...

Later!

The sun is making a welcome return after two days of rain in Arizona.  Our house is quiet after having the grandkids here for the better part of three weeks.  Thomas the Tank Engine made his debut while they were here.  They enjoyed Thomas, though they enjoyed watching my trains more than running Thomas themselves.  Now, what to do with all of the quiet time.

Good Evening/Afternoon Gang!

Another gray and cold day here in northern Germany. Temeperatures did not go over 3°C, which is colder than usual. At least it stayed dry.

Flo, how about a mug of hot chocolate, please! I don´t mind if you add somthing out of that dusty bottle over there - it´ll warm meup.

I spent the afternoon with my friend Lothar. The critter is now "mechanically" complete and runs like a charm. The gears are quiet, making it a pleasure to operate. All it needs to be complete is the window glazing to be installed, but I will do that after ske stayed a while at a beauty farm for touch-ups on the paint job and some heavy weathering. Somewhere in the attic I still have a board with a length of HO track, so I will give the lady a work-out tomorrow.

In addition to finishing the critter, I completed assembling the row of HO background houses. These are resin kits, which are a nuisance to assemble. The fronts were all bent and bowed, so I had to put them in boiling hot water for a while and then try to straighten them. The kits did not have any sidewalls, so I made them out of styrene. They still need inside partition walls before I can give them a good coat of primer and start to paint them. Here is a sneak preview of what they will look like:

Painting them will be something - I hope I´ll make a good job!

Johnboy - I am sorry to hear about your tumor. Petra and I send you Angel that everything will turn out just fine!

Make it a great day!

Aw, two whole days of rain in Airy-zone-ah! Poor people, whatever shall they do??

It is SCHN*WING here! Its like a blizzard out there, only it is just a "white out" light snowfall, but you can't see your 3 fingers in front of you. The Blue trailer next door is barely visible. schnow is about 1-4 accumulation, so MAYBE not too bad...

Not like {what's his name??} was complaining about sn*w N of USA until the tornadoes all hit.

Well, Since the injections were Tues, and my back is now "better", I have been on a rampage catching up on household chores I eihter neglected or "simplified" in my worse condition. Been "lime-away"-ing everything in sight {we have very hard water it seems, full of lime and minerals}. Been "swifffering" every floor that is vinyl. a good scrub, not the 'passing lick and a promise' job. Done the scrubbing of fixtures that needed it as I am now more steady on the step stool.

I done did some laundry..have to do a LOT of it. Not the usual "lot". See we usually use the "sensitive skin" "no dyes or perfumes" detergent and fabic sheets. I ran out of Bounce free and Clear Fabric sheets, and substituted the least sensitive smelly ones, the Arm &Hammer scented ones. WEll, long story short, I broke out in er um the "sensitive personal area" and on my thigh legs to a point of near bleeding. SO diaper rash ointment to the rescue. AND to REWASH all my clothes I washed and dried with those sheets! It doesn't pay to substitue! I need "free and clear"!!! A load or two in Tide or Wisk won't hurt for really bad stains the ALL won't get out, but I paid dearly for the fabric softener sheets!

Well, I'm off to get the mail, one more monthly bill should be there!

Well Oliver is halfway through his second coach now. Thus far I've programmed in two items he must find, a blue box and a computer disk. I won't tell you what's in the box but it's important and has to do with something he already passed, meaning he'll have to backtrack. There's also an old Indian in this car who will give Oliver a hard time and could even kill him if he's not careful. The observation car and these two coaches have been fairly easy to deal with. The next cars design is a bit different. Think about how the coaches in the Hogwart's Express are laid out and you'll have a fair idea.

Well, no local train show today, its TOMORROW!Dunce ooopps, That meant taking SWMBO shopping, and oh yes, the idiots are out in force!Bang Head. I made my decision, I'm following my Mothers lead. Christmas cards with checks in them. The crowds are just too much to deal with. Angry Folks cutting each other off, flipping the finger, making loud noises,,,and that's just the parking lot!!!!!Surprise Inside the store is even worse.  SWMBO can shop for the grandkids, but the older kids are getting checks! MIL also does similar things, like gift certificates. I like it, cuz she gives me ones from the LHS! Big Smile Swmbo bought me lunch to make up for the aggrevation.

Stopped by the cemetary to put flowers on Dad's grave, he would be 87 today. He's been gone almost 3 years now, and I still miss him just as much. Sigh

I did manage to wash & detail the car, put away the hose reels for the winter and got some of the leaves moved before the wind put them back. Maybe I'll try again tomorrow.  After church, and after the show.

Amoeba sized pyramid? Never seen that before?? But then again, I'd never saw that thingy down there before either, and yes, better have good aim! Wink

G, keep that Schn*w up there. I just washed my car!!!Automobile

Evenin' folks!

just a decaf for me right now Janie.  I managed to fill my house with smoke about an hour ago....  Last night I made myself a small dish of jome made Macaroni and Cheese for supper.  i also managed to have the cheese sauce I made for it spill over onto the bottom of the oven.  I was going to atke it apart and clean it today, or at least before using the oven again.  Tonight I decided that along with my little beef tenderette with fried veggies that a couple of slices of Texas Toast would go along with it well.  Of course I forgot that I had the spilled cheese sauce in the oven and tonight the oven had to preheat to 420 to quick thaw and bake the Texas Toast....

House has now aired out a bit!  Opened up a few windows and turned on all the exhaust fans and made sure the main furnace kicked on to clean the air so I can breath again....  Every once in a while i do something stupid like this. WhistlingSigh

Jeffrey, That "Indian" wouldn't be named Jeffrey would it?

I did a bit more on the Blacksmith's shop this afternoon.  Came to a grinding halt though as I need to build the main door for it.  I have almost all basic sizes of HO Scale Lumber down there.... except for 1" x 6" stock...  Guess what width the boards are that make up the front door.  I'll get them ordered tonight and do some other w*rk on the shop.

Think it is time to close up some windows here.  It is currently 23°F outside so I am heating the neighborhood with my stupidity!

Later!

Evening guys

It's been a busy day. I had to work today and my boss claimed it wasn't as hectic as last week. A co-worker stated that it was because me and another person were there... Now I have the sinking feeling I won't be getting saturdays off. Which means no going to my MR club.

I got home, washed, polished, and waxed my car. Then cleaned the house. Now I'm wore out...

Wants: 1. high-quality, sound equipped, SD40-2s, C636s, C30-7s, and F-units in BN. As for ones that don't cost an arm and a leg, that's out of the question....

2. An end to the limited-production and other crap that makes models harder to get and more expensive.
