2013 NHL/Trains Gamblin Game.
Posted by BATMAN on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 10:41 AM

With the start of the NHL playoffs I suggest we have a little fun.

As a Canuck fan I will wager any Shark fan to a bet. Edit; sorry I meant for the whole series. Sorry for any confusion ) The loser must print off the logo of the winning team and stick it on the front of your favourite Loco, ( much like a Thomas face ) and video it for one entire lap around your layout and post it to this thread. Any takers?

The MRR betting lounge is open to all teams. Not just San Jose and Vancouver. So hunt down those fellow Model Railroaders in your opponents city and have at it.

At the very least we will have some good layout tours.Cool

I knew I could count on you Gary!Thumbs Up  You're a brave man risking total train humiliation when that Canucks logo ply's its way around your layout.Laugh

Michael I'm sure Colorado will be in next year. But just to feel like a part of the process this year, you can start printing up your Canucks logo's now, just to be ready.Smile, Wink & Grin

Brian, what can I say. I guess those Bostonians just don't have a lot of faith in the team this year. Oh well you and I can have a good go when the Canucks and Leaf's meet in the final round. Dinner

GO TORONTO!!!!!

GO VANCOUVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Time to go turn on the TV and watch the Leaf's

If the canucks win I'll use BN-3 on my Ti"N"y project layout, all in. Sharks may not mess with orcas in the real world but on the ice it's the top of the food chain. that being said it won't be humiliating for me as the canucks are my 2nd favorite team, and the rangers are #3 favorite.

Congratulations Gary!  I thought it was a halfhearted effort by the Canucks. Lui kept it from being 6-1.

Anyway, I had meant the bet to be on the series. However looking at my original post, I was not clear about this. So I will yield to you. If you don't think your little fish can fire off enough harpoons to bring the series to a favourable conclusion and think I should produce my video now, I will proceed.

Your call.Big Smile

After last nights pathetic showing, I have the ladies getting the star of my video ready.

Hope some of our Buffalo guys help out as well. (Kassian & Roy).  It will be a late night for me.

Brian Kassian & especially Roy were good additions for the team. I hope you're not too tired today.

You need one of these.

Gary

The house has four big screen TVs and there will be wandering groups of fans wandering from room to room watching. The wives and daughters usually congregate in the family room while the husbands and sons watch in the living room. We alway's have a crowd in on Saturday's for Hockey Night In Canada, but during the playoff's when the Canucks are playing, it's alway's Saturday.Laugh

I never have a problem with a loss, you won't win them all. If the Canucks come out tonight and win decisively, they will win the series. However if the Canucks win in a squeaker, it will be the Sharks on to the next round in six games. Oh the humiliation!Crying

That being said.

The Shark's are buzzard meat!!!!!!!!

After what these so-called 'sportsmen" and management tycoons did showing their childlike greed, I burned my hockey sweater and dialed out the sports channel on my TV remote.

This isn't e REAL season, not enough games played to stand as a full season, the record books will just show a blank.

Dramatic, but I doubt it. This has been a good season and if you sat in a corner and pouted you missed some terrific hockey ... and the owners and players sure do _not_ miss you.

On the contrary, just like the other short season in recent memory (94-95), the records will be there and the Stanley Cup will be awarded, along with all the other trophies. You will find that all the players have stats for 94-95, won-loss are recorded, etc., etc. Just like any other season.

To Batman, I guess we now know why the Sharks took their foot off the gas for the last two games of the regular season. It looks like they wanted to be sure to be seeded 6 so they could get the Cannots. Still early to gloat, but Vancouver better hope Schneider gets well in a hurry or he will not need to bother.

Being a hockey fan, I will say that there are only two teams I will not cheer for, the Filthadelphia Flyers and the Washington Crapitals. I would like to see the Wild win a game or two, but the Blackhawks are on a roll. I would like to see the Leafs win the Cup since they are the only Original Six team I have not seen do so. I would like to see the Penguins win the Cup because they are my local team. I would have liked to have seen Winnipeg in the playoffs this year.

As for the 'Yotes, I am just waiting for the day that the NHL sells that team off to either the Quebec City or the Houston groups that have been trying to get an NHL franchise. Unless they can find a buyer that will keep them in Phoenix, that day can not be very far in the future.

It's a Great Day for Hockey!!!!!

My perfect wife is trying to make me feel better. She got a big Prime Rib for the gang and me for the Barbecue tonight. At least my stomach will be happy after the pregame meal. Dinner

The Canucks have climbed out of deeper holes in playoff's past, so let's hope they can do it again and not end up off the rails.Sigh

Really did burn my sweater (it's not a jersey)  do not watch NHL wrestling on ice, still watch junior hockey (lucky to have a team here) guess the league records will stand - skewed as they may be.   Lots more time to model railroad eh?

On the prairies we always referred  (facetiously) to Toronto as the ''Leaves"

Brian.

San Jose has twenty Canadians on the team and Vancouver has twenty one. So theoretically we should win by an "EH".Laugh

When I graduated high school my bucket list was a very long one. It is a big planet with so many thing to experience on it. I made a conscious decision not to get married until my bucket list had been taken care of. So at age forty I finally got married and had kids knowing my one remaining wish was out of my control. That was to see the Vancouver Canucks win the Stanley Cup before I croak. Crying

I really feel like this.Sigh
