Well
Does MOH have a new job or not? THAT is He question. The answer is "we don't know".
MOH phoned the Asst. Mgr. {A M} to get an idea of when to start for training.....the A.M was "to busy to get to that, and may not get to it this week"...!!???!!!???
So NOW MOH is unclear whether to wait for the AM to phone with a schedule or what?!
That is OK, MOH has an interview Thursday with a group that assists Special People with assisted or "independent" living arrangements. I think MOH secretly wants that job too.
I told MOH not to burn any bridges on the grocery store front, but MOH is tired of food service. I suggested MOH might want to work there part time to get extra extra money to do things like the cruise MOH is bugging me about to go on. OI don't think it will be all MOH thinks it is cracked up to be, though! ANd we will need money to go away for retirement, especially the pipe dream of retiring to Hawaii!
With MOH turning 54 last week, a train nut friend suggested we look at Senior housing here next year when MOH is 55 -- as a joke. BUT, the JOKE was on him, as MOH and I have investigated such doings! There you pay a % of your income and get a 1 or 2 BR complex within the building wiht assisted Nursing available. We may just do that!!!
NOW to get MOH working adn actually making a paycheck!

well I helped grandpa fix the ruined boards in the roof, now we just need to put the.... thingamajigs over them. let's see I plan on doing a ton of studying this weekend. anywho, a ton of SP&S stuff is headed my way. 3 boxcars, an Alco FA2 FB2 set, I need to look for some more stuff as well as get an F3A with a steam heater and some Decals to make SP&S #802. #802 looks on as a BNSF train(just on the other side of the bushes on the left) passes over her old stomping grounds in Stevenson, Washington.

Evening all!
Flo, I know Galaxy got top of page,,,but let me volunteer my card for this tab. I just got an offer of employment , which I said yes to! For the 1st time since 1979, my full time job is outside of the car bidness!! Yippee!! 7 to 4 pm, M-F, no late nights, weekends or 12 hour days! I start 7am Monday! Oopps,,, that gives me less than a week to get some more projects done,,,better get to the LHS tomorrow!!+
Speaking of Galaxy,,,,,what confusion!! And it begs the question,,, does YOH want to step into that kind of disorganization??
Ray,,, Glad to hear Blackie is getting his spunk back. Midnight recently had his meds adjusted again, and I must say. There's still a lot of kitten inside that big bag of fur!
Todd. Keeps that snow up there will ya? My Tulips are blooming and they don't do well with snow!
Well,,back to building a brass loco frame,,,,I'll be back later, after I burn my fingers!

Good evening.
Worked on rough draft for English. Seems to be coming around well. Also just got "A Higher Call" ordered on Amazon today. Hope to get it soon. Sounds like a really good book!

Well I didn't get much done today. Some tools were put away. I considered whether or not to cut the grass but decided I wait until after the rain. Had dinner at my fathers place. Chili dogs. I have a pile of Atlas FP7 number boards, eight of them I think. I have no idea what I'm going to do with them. probably dump them in the junk box. I mounted inlaid number boards on the FP7's so there's no need for for surface mount boards. I also looked at some coupler height issues and I think I just about have that worked out. There on some old train set cars so it really doesn't matter one way or another. We're expecting rain tonight and tomorrow, 60% tonight maybe 70 tomorrow, so we might actually get wet. Looks like the wind will be civilized. Tonight I'll be taking the first full dose of the gabapentin. Had a half dose yesterday to get started. I felt all right today, still a bit of tingling but it doesn't feel like I'm trying to squeeze a pin cushion full of needles.Time to call it a night. See y'all tomorrow.

Janie, just a cup of decaf please....
Did something today very out of character for me. Not May 1st. yet and I mowed the entire lawn today! Yep got the mower out, vacuumed some grass and dirt out of it, put the battery back in, pulled the lever and she started right off. No problems at all! I got the entire lawn done with just one additional charge. Decided this year I would buy a second battery for it and it will be here in about a week. Then I can just change the battery (easy job. Unhook the lever locking it in place and just lift it out) and keep going if I choose. Set a new record for the panels on the roof again today. 29.9 Kwh of power today! Yep the sun makes the grass grow, and the sun makes the power needed to cut it...
Got an email today to call a person at the high school. Called her and was told she felt the MLK Committee ought to be informed that one of our applicants managed to get herself arrested yesterday. She was slatted to get a small scholarship from us as she had a history of having a mouth on her, but had seemed to have grown up a lot this year. It was brought up as a rumor at the meeting (I was asked about it and that is how I approached it). One of our members is an officer of the County Court. She took out her phone and made a call... Yep! The girl is 18, got mouthy and belligerent to a couple guards at an activity witnessed by a couple of police officers, was arrested (harassment and assault), arraigned, will be treated as an adult, and lost her scholarship all in one fell swoop! That $$$ will be saved for next year and someone more closely aligned with our Mission Statement (...to promote peace, justice, and equality for all people...). We put a high value on how a person treats others.
Tomorrow is back to clean the house day... Have about five days of w*rk to do before driving to Canada on Friday!
Have a good night everyone! Prayers for all in need.

Galaxy, tell me some details if you can! With me being 95% BoS is not going to help with me keeping the house this may be something worth looking into. I am 57 and my wife, well all I can say is she is older! Funny about how woman are about there age.
Vince's I think the train remains I found where FP 45's, a U Boat and a think a SD 38. By the way, how hard was to to cut down the Kato motor shaft and by how much? I really want another PK F3 on the rails.
I have only been in the hobby say 7 years or so and I am surprised how much junk I have and have forgotten about! I wonder what Jeffery Junk Pile Look's Like?
Jeffery The reason you are seeing the junk over the top of my photos is because I have been to lazy to do the fix you listed. But, I found if I cut off the URL in the front and rear of the link before I post, the link is gone.

Good Evening, Chloe - I'll have the grilled salmon, with a side salad, and some peaches please, and a Rio Grande mug of coffee, please. Thank you, ma'am.
Got to sleep early enough last night, but got a slow start on the day. Had a phone call today I needed to be there for, and then after that, did a little bit more on a couple of the Main St. Heritage buildings (some 'mortaring' on River Road Surplus):
I need some cleanup on the joints, where some of the wash soaked in more. Plus the roof sections, side door (unless I put a little add-on on that side), glass and other details.
I also wanted to tone down the show-through of the reddish wood on the Mercer's Dry Goods side walls. This is what I got done so far today:
And this is what it looked like before I did that:
I'm wondering what - in between those two stages - to go with. I think I want a bit more "brownishness" to the sides. Anybody want to weigh in with suggestions? My gut reaction was, I almost would like to go back to the 'before' (but not.. quite).
Todd, I think I can recognize that thought process about the "freebie sn*w blower" concept; some of us were taught (before a lot of today's ideas came into vogue...) to do the right thing because it's the right thing. Were you in the Boy Scouts, by any chance?
Jeff, thanks to your tip to Ken, I got the links for my photos a bit quicker than yesterday's. Appreciate it! Hey, that shed looks like it started life as the ol' Revell Sandhouse kit. Am I right?
Ulrich, do take care of yourself & your immediate family. I will be thinking of you and your brother (& his GF) as you pay your respects. It sounds like at least your mother has somewhere else to have treatment. Better for you to not have that burden anymore. In our glorious state, they cut the funds for mental health/ state hospitals - so they are closed, unless you're convicted of some serious crime and are not mentally fit to be tried. Of course, that doesn't help our people who do have mental health problems, but don't commit crimes. (Guess I'd better stop before the gets all the way out of its corner...)
All right, V8Dennis - go on and brag about your slim and fit bod! (Man, I wish I could eat all I want like that! (Well, at least there is someone who can...)
Ken, that's an Athearn RDC, isn't it? Geared or Hi-F drive? I have a few like that (which are another project, for re-doing the shells and chasses to more closely match prototypical length. I have some of the Ernst regearing kits for the Athearns, also, and installed one of them so far. Haven't 'road-tested' the Ernst's yet.
Johnboy - I see now why you're coming SOTB at this time of year; you want a vacation from all that white stuff (that's covering up your JD at the moment...)! Of course, you need to get through all of THAT to get down here where we just have the rivers flooding for now.
And CDN Dennis - I think my landlord's had the lawn around our building cut at least twice, maybe 3 times. 'Tis the season for sounds of mowers...
Well, dang it, Karl - if I'd have looked through the posts earlier, I could've taken part in that chat! I'll just have to listen to Todd's and Ken's accounts of how well they liked it. But hey, congrats on the new job, and I hope it's several steps up from your current/previous one!
Galaxy, you got some new threads? Hey, remember that even with the plastic, the bill has to be paid - don't get behind on those kinds of bills. Hope YOH gets some good news on the interview - t'would be good to have the choice between two jobs.
BN24Gary (or will you change that to SP&S24 now?), how many of your locos will you need to redecal/repaint? I think the only SP&S stuff I've seen looked close to the SP (which would require a complete re-do). Or will you have interchanges with the BN and use the BN locos that way?
Vincent, best wishes with getting through to Athearn (and getting your parts). Have you done any searches on their site for alternate phone numbers? Just a thought - I'm sure you are very frustrated...
Chris - how's your give-a-durn doing today?? Interesting shot of the firefighters in gear. I thought you said something about THAT editor hiring additional help, so can she send one of them to cover the second game (the one with the wintery mix)?
Ray, is that a whistle sign on your house? Cool!
Barry, your oncologist was happy, right? So why does he want new MRI/PET scans? Guess if you're all healing up, he might figure he won't get to see you as much (and bill for same...). Hope the scans come back showing absolutely nothing left to mess with anymore. Oh, I saw on tonight's news that Dutchtown (south of Cape) - where the diversion channel from the Mississippi can have its level come up when the river's flooding - had some of those concrete barriers alongside of the road that's parallel to the channel, with lots o'sandbags alongside the barriers. I think they'll be continuing to fill sandbags tomorrow also. (But where I am, and where our office is, both are a ways back from the river)
SaronaTerry - 7 inches? Of the white stuff, right? Sheesh, indeed! Well, you aren't too far from Canada, after all... Hey, as for the photos, I have NO complaints about you posting your pics!
Mr.B - now THAT's technology w**king for you! Hope you found several things worth loading up in the car, at those prices.
Well (frogs got a little more water on them today..), my dinner's finished up and it's about time for me to head home now. Tomorrow (and rest of the week) it's back to the salt mines (so to speak). And I'm still awaiting Missouri to get around to sending me my refund... electronically filed it a bit over a week ago, and it's been accepted, but I think they're waiting until they process everyone else's return & gets all their money before they send out refunds...
Prayers will definitely continue for healing & comfort for Ulrich, Petra & the brother & GF as they pay their respects to his father, and prayers for healing and good results for Barry and anyone else having tests/bloodw**k done this week, as well as for those awaiting word on new jobs or starting them. And for all the rest of us who have our own needs (which may not all fit into any of the above).
Blessings,
Jim in Cape G.
[Well, I'm posting this one for Garry (who says he's having trouble with the hotel's computer not wanting to talk with our MR forums)]:
Howdy everybody. We're on our trip. Doing well driving lots of miles. Saw my sister in AL celebrating her birthday. Saw my mother and other family in AL, too. ... Shelley's birthday is today, and (Wow!) she is getting spoiled abundantly. Last night, she was treated in Atlanta, GA to a night in 5 star hotel. Dinner was at Morton's Steakhouse. Today, she shopped until she dropped. Now we are in Columbia, SC. ... Next we head to Myrtle Beach. Then to NC and then home. Ulrich ..... I'm really sad how things turned out for your Mom and Dad. You definately had the right idea moving them to the senior home, but it became disastrous through absolutely no fault of yours. Prayers for you. I may not be posting for several more days. Try to round up the MIA's in the meantime.
Garry
[That's all he sent me, and it looks like he'll be out for a bit...
Jim, heading out the door]
Hey guys
Went to the train club and watched a bunch of old Allen Keller tapes. I recall the one about the FSM in it's "early" stages.
Trainwise, I finally got a hold of athearn and got the parts I needed, to finish my BN and SF (was Ken's) SD40-2s.
Ken, SD38s, Uboat, and FP45 chassis huh? They would be useable for future projects. FP45s could be used for SDP45, Uboat for a B30-7A (a B-unit), and the SD38 for an SDP40. As for cutting down the shafts, it was easy. I cranked my dremel to max and took it off in one swipe. I think jeff takes multiple passes at lower speeds. A cut-off wheel may work. I forgot how much I cut them down. I just used the P1K F3s motor for reference by lining up the housings side-by-side, then marking where the P1K shafts end on the Kato shafts with a sharpie.
I'm going to bed. G'night ya'll
Vincent
Wants: 1. high-quality, sound equipped, SD40-2s, C636s, C30-7s, and F-units in BN. As for ones that don't cost an arm and a leg, that's out of the question....
2. An end to the limited-production and other crap that makes models harder to get and more expensive.
JimRCGMOJeff, thanks to your tip to Ken, I got the links for my photos a bit quicker than yesterday's. Appreciate it! Hey, that shed looks like it started life as the ol' Revell Sandhouse kit. Am I right?
Jim, thank you for asking. Well I plan on doing a lot of custom painted locomotives and some passenger cars for SP&S, GN, and NP. Because I paint my loco's with a fine tip it'll take me a while to do, schemes that are very rare if even made in N scale is the SP&S all three schemes(black with stripes, Broad stripe, and hourglass like on #802), I will have to paint up a Big Sky Blue GN consist, and some NP 2 tone and butterknife scheme F's.
I'll still have all of my BN stuff in green(except for maybe some CC cars that are currently wearing Cascade green). I will also custom paint some locos that are way after the SP&S in SP&S colors like those(would've been) GP38's that the BN got(in Cascade green). I figured if anything it'll help this often forgotten underdog road a bigger image. Maybe I can get the whole SP&S diesel roster done, I'll still buy BN stuff but not on the level that I will transition/pre merger equipment. not sure what to do with my MRL loco and caboose, those might get repainted though SP&S GP9's had torpedo tubes.

GOOD WEDNESDAY MORNING!!!
Today is Wednesday, April 24th, 2013!!!
I have said the prayers and lit the prayer candles...for those in need of special thoughts and prayers.
MAKE it a GREAT day!
Yesterday I "paid it forward" for a little old lady in thje grocery who lacked about $2.50 for her bill. SHe paid cash, had no CC, and was abou to put something "back" when I stepped in and paid it for her. Her {driving companion I think} was going to help her, but I beat her to the punch!

KEN- do a search for "senior housing in XXX {your town, nearby city, or where you would like to go live}" And see what you come up with. Or "XXX senior housing".
~Each one may have differing standards, or rents but you can certainly LQQK.
~Here is one we are thinking of for us:
http://seppinc.com/index.php/apartments/harry-l-apartments/
It was an "old" school {built what 1940-50s} that was converted into the Sr apartments. They charge rent based on income- if you have a HIGH income you will pay closer to the 48%, if lower income, you will pay the 30% of gross income.
~You have to be 55 or older for one spouse or single, in some cases both must be >55.
~Others are rent based {you get one you can afford}
~ GET ON A LIST if need be for Sr housing, it may take awhile, The Harry L one for us just opened so has some room now, but mihgt not soon.
~ some are just lower income or income-based rents only others offer services like assistance cleaning, assistance with nursing, etc. Look for one you think will meet your future needs to, like when you are 80!
~Look in your phone book for "Senior services' or "Elder services" Or the like..or call you r local charitable organization {like Catholic Charities where they have a food bank} and EVEN Department of Social Services and ASK. They Can direct you to the places you need.
~Don't be afraid to look at nearby cities/towns /areas if you wnat to stay put, they may have what you want.
~For instance we were looking in Georgia as well {to retire to warmer climes}:
http://www.seniorhousingnet.com/seniorliving-detail/baptist-towers-apartments_1881-myrtle-drive-sw_atlanta_ga_30311-563878 where rent starts at $501 a month. If you can afford that and they have one avaialble you get it.
~Here is a comprehensive listing of all in the Atlanta area, for instance:
http://www.aplaceformom.com/senior-living/georgia/atlanta
~So...do some reasearch. And see what your options are and go from there...but MOVE soon! There could be one availble and it might get taken quickly!!! GET oN the LIST!!!
Hope you find something suitable...
.
EDIT: WOW!!! Pages 49, 50, 51 I got ALL TOP!!! 3 PAGES In a row!!! My Credit card cannot take much more!!! Daisy..let the men order what they want, with TOGO containers for their spouses!!!
Good morning.
Nothing new to report. Will likely be the same things that have been going on the past few days.
Good Morning!!!
Ugh. Slept wrong last night and now have a stiff neck.
Coffee and a stack of buttermilk pancakes with butter of course and Boysenberry syrup please. Thanks
A chance of rain and snow showers, mainly before 7am. Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 52.
Mr. B.- Congrats on the weight loss!
Ulrich- I don’t understand. Your Mother decided to leave and the management filed a court order for her to stay? Or she decided not to leave? State Hospitals are not the most desireable but……under some circumstances it is the only option. It sounds like for your Mother it is the only option if you can’t find a facility that is willing to deal with her. You are still in my prayers.
Karl- Hey congrats on the job!!!
Jim- No, I was not it the Boy Scouts. (close your ears Ray, er....well you know what I mean ) I was in Cub Scouts a year or two and a year in Webelos (sp?), but all I remember of those were games and crafts. Guess I just picked that up on my own. Mom used to say I should get something for my expenses (not just snow blowing stuff I do), I just said “maybe they’ll do the same for someone else.” That was before…looong before this “pay it forward” became a buzz phrase. Oh, and I think I’d go juuust a touch more with the brown. Actually it looks ok to me as it is, but I’ll take our word for it on the red and say a bit more brown. Sometimes lighting and pictures to me don’t bring the true colors to me eyes.
Don’t wanna make it sound like I just wander around doing things for people all the time every day, that’s not true. No no. Just from time to time I’ll see something and …well.
Happy late Birthday Shelley!!!
Gary- You paint with a fine tipped pen? Or do you mean just like the stripings.
Welp, tractor wouldn’t start this year. Yet. Have to tinker with it again. Nothing other than a tune up has ever been done to that old cast iron Kohler engine and well..... She's been used. Don’t know if I oughta put her out to pasture or not. 36 years has been a good run for the old girl. Just getting more and more fidgety and all you know. Been puffin blue for a couple years now. Getting a bit worse too. Of course I don't know about this year. Hate to do it, kinda like a member of the family. Been a real good tractor the old Cub Cadet has. Might just let Frank have her after all. (Frank is a guy here in town that kinda collects old Cub Cadets. REAL Cub Cadets. The ones from IH.) He fixes them up as a kinda hobby. He’s been a wantin mine for quite a while cause it’s in such good shape. Might, or rather probably, will go green on a new one.

Good morning. It's 46° with 100% humidity. Wind NW at 23mph. There's a fair chance of showers and thunderstorms. The high will be 65°.It's been raining off and on all morning, most certainly since 3am when I noticed it. I couldn't help but do that. Thunderstorms with almost continuous thunder tend to be hard to sleep through. My only plan for today is to stay dry. The new medication seems to be having a positive effect. The tingling in my right arm is nearly non-existent and my fingertips only hurt a little. It wouldn't be so bad if I could feel something other than pain, like to be able to actually feel something when I touch it or be able to feel my hair when I run my fingers through it. That's a very distant memory. I may get some layout work in today. That will depend partially on how ugly the weather gets.
Good morning! Tuesday is hockey night for me, so Wednesday is hockey hangover morning. Nothing serious, but it's a late night with a responsible level of libations, followed by not enough sleep and an early morning. I really should try an intravenous drip for my coffee.

Yeah, retirement living is creeping up on us, too, and Massachusetts is becoming Taxachusetts again. To be honest, I like the house we live in (and own) but the taxes are outrageous, and really, the house is too big. We kind of like Maine as a place to live, but New Hampshire has no income tax or sales tax, and the government up there is not into building pyramids with the people's money. Just give me a big, clean, dry basement, though, and I'll be happy.

Hey, if the Cub is a member of the family, see if you local collector guy can replace the engine for ya, and you can keep it a few more years. Might be a lower cost alternative. This from somebody who's tractors were built in 1955 & 1967!. I think almost everyone in my development must have bought a new Cub in the last few years. I see the local Cub dealers pick up and delivery truck almost daily! I sharpen my blades, adjust my belts and change my oil myself and save the $$$. Sometimes though, I wish I had my 1st Deere back!
Oh,, trainwise, replaced the axle gears last night in my Lima Alco C420. Not a bad job, took less than an hour! Best part was, I ordered the 4 gears from my LHS, the order came in, there were 5 gears!! They only bill the LHS for 4, so I got a freebie. Good thing too, as I got a little overzealous trying to ream out 1 gear to fit the axle, and overdid it!. OoopS! It runs really nice now, quiet & smooth.
Well, coffee cup is empty now,,,,gotta go fix the yard,

Took a day off from politics and family issues. It´s a sunny Spring day here, so I went for a nice walk in the morning, cleaing my head from all those sad days of the past week. After lunch, I took a long nap. Still a bit drowsy from it, but relaxed.

Todd - the situation may sound weird. They are happy to get rid of her as she proved to be a genuine troublemaker. Now they can´t just let her go, never to be seen again. They know she needs professional care, so they filed this application. The moment my Mom leaves (and they cannot stop he doing that), she will be "greeted" by those nice gentlemen in white, taking her to the state hospital for examination, followed by a court ruling, determining her fate, i.e. place where she will spend the rest of her time. In any case, this will not be the nursing home where she is right now.
This is exactly what she tried to avoid all the time, but she did her best to have exactly that happen.
It´ll be for her best, but still sad.
I tried to run a train over my little N scale layout, but it required a lot of cleaning before I could do that. Hadn´t run a train for nearly 6 months. ..
Todd, I forgot the Brush part on the end of that. whoopsie dais, I guess I keep forgetting words.
I paint with a fine tip brush. everything usually looks pretty good,I just need to improve a tiny bit more and I think I'll be A-OK.

Oh My! what a skinny kid. I was skinny in high school too. But then I joined the NAVY and put on lots of weight.
The weight is still here, though my stint in the Navy is long gone.
Here is proof that I was skinny once. And to keep things on topic, that is the LIRR station in Merrick long before it was elevated, you can see the low level platforms, and the third rail right there on street level.

"It's a rainy, rainy day... Just a rainy, rainy day...." Mornin' everyone!
Zoe, I'll have a bowl of Organic Pumpkin, Flax, Crunch cereal and lots of dark roast coffee in my R&GV RR mug please. What, yes I know Galaxy has the tab again, just trying to be nice and not run up his tab too much. I hear his OH hasn't started working yet...
Was raining earlier this morning, now the yellow thing is trying to appear.... Will be mostly cloudy today with a high around 68°F
Woke up around 8:30 this morning hearing a thumping sound every so often. At first I thought it was someone pounding on my door, but it would be just a single hard thump! Finally got out of bed and took a look outside. Finger Lakes Tree Service was busy removing the huge old maple tree across the street from my house. This is the tree that had several large dead limbs and was also the one that blocked early morning sun on my panels. I am sorry to see the old thing go as it was a stately old tree, but they did the right thing. If some of the limbs came down by themselves, they would have landed right on top of the house over there. I would have removed it about 4 years ago as a preemptive strike. Of course I am delighted to have more sunlight hit my roof... I want to plant about 4 trees in my yard, but will find varieties that stay fairly small.
Karl, thanks for the kind words about Blackie. It is so good to see him acting like his old self. I blamed myself for not getting him to the vet earlier.... Good to hear your kittie is doing well on meds also!
Jim, the whistle sign in my yard is one from the Lehigh Valley. One of my sister's neighbors acquired it years ago when they tore out the tracks along the Canandaigua Outlet. His Father worked for LV and the sign was about a half mile down the tracks from the station where he worked.
I have a long day ahead of getting everything done needing to be done before I head to the Convention in Mississauga, Ontario this weekend. Tonight is another meeting (Boy Scout District Committee).
Catch you all later!
TMarsh Oh wait! Is that a distress call I hear? Someone needs some help! ( runs in bathroom and comes out wearing blue tights that are a bit big and slightly baggy and an orange mask, bolts out the door and leaps from the platform. Trips over something, stumbles and then tumbles about 10 feet in the gravel ) Oh my hip! (jumps to feet and brushes self off quickly ) I’m ok! (Runs off through the trainyard.)
Todd... Ahem...TIGHTS? blue "baggy and big" ones at that?
Makes me wonder.
Maybe Ulrich's mother shouldn't be the only one headed for a state hospital?!
Went to pick up a few things we needed, while I still had good coupons for them {expire today}.
today is free bread day so soon to go there to get some.

Mornin', Zoe - I'll have a CAW mug of coffee and one of those 'Barry-sized' cinnamon rolls, please. Thank you! But I'll pay for mine - Galaxy has had a string of TOPs, so I'll help him out by not having to cover mine.
Got a late start out the door to the office this morning. This caffeine 'n' sugar boost should do the trick, right?
Hey, Jeff - I'm way beyond caring about showing my age. I really liked the Revell kits way back then, and have picked up a few of the kits in the past 2-3 years off deBay. But I have some kits I assembled (I think) in the late 1970's or so, that I still have. And you got woke up by a measly ol' thunderboomer? Shoot, I thought you were like me, able to sleep through almost anything other than a twister (or hurricane, given where you live)...
BN/SP&S Gary - well, if you're in iNvisible scale, at least it won't take quite as much paint to re-do your locos. (or do you use markers?)
Todd, thanks for the input. Hard part in comparing those two pics is, one was taken during the day with available daylight, while the newer one was taken using flash (& I think after dark, or close to it). I need to adjust the ASA on my camera, as my closer-in photos I've taken with it tend to wash out the colors a bit. On the 'freebie' sn*w-blowing - yeah, you probably don't need to get the word too far out there (our Canadian Diners might start dropping 'hints' about "Gee, Todd, since you have that sn*w-blower and all, could you swing by my place and clear the meter or two of this white stuff off my driveway?" (Come to think of it, how far away do you make house calls?)
Yeah, Jeff - I too was wondering whether Todd was running to/after something, or away (before the white-coated guys reached his place...
Hey, cool! SpaceMouse is back? Sounds like he's moving to an area with nice scenery around.
Oh no! Barry's got excess free time on his hands - RUN FOR YOUR LIVES! So, you don't have those scans today? (They didn't tell you that the white-coat guys wanted that one...?)
Ulrich, sounds like today (if the time is not already promised...) might be a good day for track cleaning, eh? How is campaigning in Germany? Much different from our circuses here?
Broadway, I take it that you're not standing on the third rail, right? I think for most of us, we have a bit more around our middle than when we were young (& our metabolism took a nose dive...).
Ah, Ray, I thought that was what the sign on your house was - since your last name doesn't start with a 'W'...
(As Chris might report it...) And in local news, I saw on the TV last night that there's an app for yet one more thing! "Mobile Patrol" allows you to enter your state & county (not all sheriff's departments are signed up yet, though one local county is), and be able to see which people you know (former girlfriends, annoying neighbors, etc.) are in the local county jail (and for what charges). It also can provide alerts to crime victims if your nasty ex is being released from jail (so you have a head start out of town). I know it's available for iOS (and likely also for Android devices), and it's free! "Call now - operators are standing by!" (We now return you to your regular forum...) (File THAT one under stranger than fiction...)
Things have been tolerably slow in the office this morning so far (I'm good with that.) Hmm, I may grab one of the seats in the back and join Duke in catching some ...
Blessings and prayers,
