Mornin' everyone!

Zoe, I'll have a short stack of blueberry pancakes, side order of bacon, and a cup of dark roast coffee (Marrakesh Express) in a R&GV RR Mug please and thank you Ma'am.

The installation is continuing as I type... The installer got here at 7AM again this morning and has been busy putting in the supports and rail the panels will sit on in place on my roof.

Barry, one of the really great things about the Rimac Concept One is the new technologies incorporated in the car. That includes not only the drive train, but also braking and handling performance.  Wouldn't you love to pull up next to some high powered gas guzzler and just blow them away at a stop light with a little Electric Car?  You know one of those golf cart type thingies... (Disclaimer, I haven't done anything like that since my college days, and THAT was in my BIL jeep.  The one he put a Chevy 283 V8 into....  He blew 2nd gear out starting in 4 wheel drive blowing away Corvettes, Mopar Hemis, and Mustangs from stoplights in Canandaigua way back when...  Blue smoke from all 4 tires, 0 to 60 in the time it took to let in the clutch!  It also got about 4 mpg).

Galaxy, glad to hear you only had some repairable damage in the storms.  I saw the line going across NYS and was under a watch here.  It all disappeared by the time it went across Canandaigua and basically didn't amount to anything but some light showers here 15 miles to east.  I got only .12" of nice gentle rain.  Good luck with the repairs!  I hear there is a lot of firewood for the taking down there.  Whistling

Todd, now why would plumbers put a shut off on a line that has to be replaced from time to time like a shower....???  I have done much the same thing here at my house and put in shut off valves in several places (with Bleed Drains attached) so that I can still have water in some places when plumbing needs to be done here.

Ken, keeping your wife in my prayers.  Hopefully they have caught everything early enough to be able to help her out.  In almost all conditions early detection is a key!

Best get doing some of the huge backup of tasks I have been putting off for way too long!

Later!

It's partly cloudy and 78. High is looking like high 90's.

Going to go mow the parents yard today. Be back later.

Well,w ell

It ISN'T a Roof jack/ heating company repair...its a Major roof repair needed!!! The metal roof is buckiling and cracked, hence the leaking, NOT the chimney.

SO,, THAT opens up a whole NEW can of worms! First, we need $$$$, second, we need to find someone who WILL or CAN work on trailer roofs!!! You would think that with many trailer parks around here {ask Ray} that there would be roofers to do them..but NO.

NOT a HAPPY CAMPER here.

Ken: If Bank of Stupid told you you were good on your house payments then suddenly found THEY made an error and are forcing you to make good on THEIR mistake it's time for you to sic a lawyer on them!

Got the grass mowed today but not with the Peerless tractor. It did good for about five minutes then an idler pulley on the mower deck went snap-crackle-pop and that was the end of that. Parked it and got the MTD out. Yeah, the one with the pain in the butt reverse pedal. I applied a redneck solution to that. Using two hose clamps I clamped a six inch piece of one inch PVC pipe to the pedal extending it's length by four inches. Now I can depress that pedal for reverse. It's still a pain in the butt to use as it requires that I devote all of my attention to where I'm placing my foot. So there's no instant reverse like the other one has. Complete stop, press pedal for reverse, complete stop, press drive pedal for forward. With the old one I never have to to take my foot off the drive pedal. Found out the old one is seventeen years old. Trannys going out but the engine is still great. A two cylinder Briggs and Stratton V-twin. No leaks, no burning oil, no fouling, no smoke. About the only part replaced on the engine besides the plugs was the carburetor and the air filter. I bet that little pain in the butt MTD won't last that long. It has a one cylinder Kohler and has already given us several headaches.

Evening All,

Flo I would love a cup of coffee please.

Did not accomplish much today other than laundry and grocery shopping. The only thing happening on the MRR front is some planning to change a freight siding into a siding used to load and unload LCL containers. At this stage it looks like all I need is some scenery work and get a couple of flat bed trucks.

YGW- I am very sorry for your loss.

Ray- The install is looking good.

Paul- I'm glad your  wife looks like she is doing better.

Ken- I  wish you the best with BoS. I also hope your wife is OK.

Hope everyone has a good night and prayers for those in need.

Garry- Happy belated Anniversary.

Galaxy- Can you fix your leak with roofing tar?

Afraid I got rather sunburned today. I'm quite red, even for an Indian. That's kinda funny as I'm really quite light skinned. A side effect of one of my meds is that I burn easily. Pupils have also been dilated somehow. Stepping outside earlier was like stepping out into bright glare with everything lit up super bright. Sunglasses helped a little but not much. Glad I didn't have to drive any further than from my parents place to here because it was difficult to make things out. The eyes seem to have settled down. Tomorrow I may see if I can replace the busted pulley on the tractor. It shouldn't be difficult. Of course that depends on how I feel when I wake up tomorrow. Yesterday and today I've really been pushing hard and I'm hurting pretty bad because of it. Lifting the tractor yesterday and standing it on it's rear wasn't the smartest thing to do but it had to be done. The old drive belt had to come out so a new one could be put in. I'm getting too old for this stuff. Right now I feel like every muscle I have is saying 'Get the number of that truck!'. Hopefully I'll feel better in the morning. If not I may not even bother getting out of bed.

Time for me to call it a night. See y'all tomorrow, maybe.

Evenin' folks!

Janie a cup of decaf would sure be nice right about now...

Been a busy day for me today.  Didn't even go down to look at the layout!  Did get the lawn mowed (it was getting a bit ragged), took all my contracts and paperwork over to my insurance man.  Bad news is that a solar Electric system doesn't get a discount.  A solar hot water system does.  Good news is that it would only raise the valuation for tyhe insurance by what the retail cost of the system is and it may even be withing the specs that I already have on the house.  At any rate the cost should go up much to add it to my policy.  I would much rather pay a bit more and have it fully covered.  Right Galaxy?

Oh, and I sure hope your needed roof repair can be at least partially covered by your insurance.  Would be nice at least.

I spent most of today sitting here by the computer and trying to figure out why the columns in the MLK Financial records weren't adding up to the same as what is in the bank!  I finally printed out everything.  Each of the sub accounts as well as the main account and the bank records.  Took me only 8 hours, but I finally found all the errors!  Several I caught fairly quickly as they were entries in the main ledger that were never assigned to the sub account they were in.  The final one baffled me all day.  Came back several times and checked again and again.  Finally it showed up for my eyes.  I had a deposit that was for $50 that had managed to be put in the books twice...  It was the only time where I did the bookwork before I went to make the deposit. A couple days later I put away the bank receipt in the notebook I keep with all the records, and so entered it again at that time.  It shows up on the bank records once, but in the ledger twice...  Duh!  Sure was nice to finally have everything add up correctly!!!

Jeffrey, hope the eyes are OK!  And hoping you feel better in the morning.

Progress has been made on my roof:

More would have gotten done but mid afternoon the installer ran out of the bolts needed to fasten the frames to the roof...  He left to go back to shop in Victor, NY to resupply the trailer.  He will be back bright and early on Monday.  By Monday afternoon at least some of the panels should be in place.

Hope you all have a safe and good night!

 Evening Folks

Flo, been a heck of a day, Beer Pleases.

For about 10 minutes today I felt pretty good! Checked my checking account and BoS had withdrew by $520.00 payment! Well they took the money, must have seen the error's of there ways! Big Smile Then 10 minutes later the phone rang and I made the mistake of picking up the phone, it was BoSSigh

Seems a letter of Fore-closer was issued on 08-16-2012. I told her that I spoke to them on 8-30-12 about sending the $520.00 to be used with the Zero Note with my $499.00 Escrow balances and I was told it was OK, then called back the next day and was told I had a -$138.00 balances and no Zero Note could be done. All so pointed out that I have not revived a statement for 2 moths, well now 3 months.

She could see my statements have been returned for some reason? Now why in the Heck can I get 1, then the others ones are sent back?

Well, I could go on, but why? Anything I am told will not be true when I speak to the next smock! I was told (more than likely not true) they will know about the Modifying The Loan by the 18th of this month.

Going to end this post in a positive note. While still pretty pee poor by most standards I have a fair check coming this next payday. This coming one may be even better, i am getting to work a Saturday, when we have the most business plus I may get 50 hours!

 See you all later.

Gday folks,

Got stuck into the layout building today. It's two 8' x 3' modules which will be butted together to form an L shape layout.

Managed to get the frame for both built and the legs and bracing done one one module. Will finish the rest off tomorrow and secure the MDF on top. I'm still tossing up whether to lay foam on top or cut into the benchwork. I only plan one river crossing so may just cut it out and sink it under the bench work. Foam here runs about $75 per 8x4 sheet for 1 1/2" sheets, as it's not a very common insulation product here in AU.

I went to Masters hardware (which is a partnership between Aussie supermarket chain Woolworths and US Hardware Lowes.)  to buy the supplies. I picked up a 12v Li-Ion battery drill for $40 with two batteries. I've been using it all day to drill pilot holes in the benchwork and it's still going strong. I use it along side my 14.4v DeWalt drill. For $40 I'm not complaining!! It comes with a two year replacement warranty so if it breaks you get a brand new one!

Anyway here is a progress shot...

Morning Coffee and Donuts

GOOD MORNING!!!

Bill has provided the date

Weather news: we are expecting another line of Severe Thunderboomers Lightning and lots of Umbrella {about 2 inches worth} and HAIL AGAIN today!!! Line goes Even up to Ray's way!!! Batten down what hatches we have left!!!

If we DON'T get a storm, It would be the Bee's knees!!! SO:

bees knees/the bee's knees

- something really good, especially an excellent example of its type - essentially the bees knees (strictly bee's knees) expression originated (first recorded in the US in 1923 according to etymolygist Nigel Rees) because like similar terms (for example 'the cats pyjamas' or the 'cream of the crop') its alliterative and poetic quality makes it pleasant to say and to hear. Bees have long been a metaphorical symbol because they are icons everyone can recognise, just as we have many sayings including similarly appealing icons like cats and dogs. Earlier references to the size of a 'bee's knee' - meaning something very small (for example 'as big as a bee's knee') - probably provided a the basis for adaptation into its modern form, which according to the OED happened in the USA, not in UK English. Neither 'the bees knees', nor 'big as a bees knee' appear in 1870 Brewer, which indicates that the expression grew or became popular after this time. Based on Nigel Rees' well researched and reliable dating of 1923 for first recorded use, it is likely that earliest actual usage was perhaps a few years before this

good morning. It's 75° with 96% humidity. There's a chance for some thunderstorms to come through. The high will be 86°.

Nothing planned for today except staying inside and getting plenty of rest. Woke up this morning feeling like I had lost an argument with a steam roller and a runaway furnace. Even my eyelids hurt! I don't know if I'll do any layout work today. Probably not. Even the little bit of movement required for this posting is quite uncomfortable.

Morning All,

Sitting here drinking some coffee. Only plans today are to go to the LHS and then to the club later on, so a nice MRR day. Tomorrow the family is coming over for supper because it's my 56th  birthday. I did not want to make a big  deal out of it-just another day but MOH has other plans.  The good news is I get Swiss steak and Blackberry cobbler out of  it-both favorites of mine.

Hope everyone has a good day and prayers for those in need.

Good morning, Diners.  I need a black coffee before we run.  I slept until 6:30.  Write that down, because that almost never happens.

It was in the high 90's yesterday.  When I got home it was only 93 here.

Today, we plan to go to the Puyullap Fair.  We are checking out the art exhibit.  Larry might enter next year.

He is still tweaking on my Shay painting.

Happy Birthday, Curt.Cake

 Morning Fellow Dinners

 Flo, Coffee pleases.

I am not sure if I am disappointed or not this morning. I was asked to work today, I was scheduled off but I need the hours so I said yes. This morning I got a call that I was not needed today. Seems the new shop opening has been postpone till next week and all the people that where going to be working at the new store getting it ready are working in the current store today. Eric (New Manager) said they have 7 people working up front. (counter where I work)

I was counting on working 50 hours this coming week, so I am disappointed about that. But, on the other hand this would be my 7th day in a row so i am all so glad to be off. Plus I am off Sunday, first two days off in a row after going back to work.

Grass is looking God Awful so I know what I will be doing today.

  See you all later!

Mornin' I think?  Yep it is morning gthough almost as dark as night out there....

Galaxy, thanks for the warning!  I would have slept right through the drenching downpour, thunder and lightning, and 40 MPH winds we just had... Whistling  It was coming down in buckets about the time I sat down for breakfast this morning, and I thought the neighbors tree would come down on top of the trailer from the electric company parked in my driveway!  Wind was out of the South, very unusual for here.

Zoe, already had breakfast, but I sure could use more dark roast coffee, Ma'am.

Oh:

Hope you have a fine day Curt!

Jeffrey, it sounded last night that you would be moving slowly today...  Take care of yourself!

I think today shall be mostly spent in the train rooms.  Tomorrow I w*rk as a Docent/Museum Guide so I hope the weather is a bit better...

I best get moving as we are under a severe thunderstorm warning for the next hour or so!

Later!

Morning All,

Currently 64 with an expected high of 91 under partly cloudy skies

Been absent for a few days here, mostly do to work schedule and hospital visits. Some good news there though. Wife has her appetite back, she can taste food and is enjoying it. All infections are in check and only one anti-biotic is being administered. She can get up without nurses assistance. Surgical masks are no longer required when entering her room. So far no adverse effects to the chemo, but she has only gotten one round, the next will be in about 12 days.

A/C guy fixed the unit. It blew a capacitor. He only charged me for parts and labor, not a service call. We are about 35 miles from the shop.

Curt - Happy B-Day

Ken - Don't you hate working on commission? I sure do. I think it is an outdated concept, especially in the business I am in. Too much focus on $ and not enough on customer service in my opinion.

Jeff - Sounds like you may have over done it. Take it easy.

Today I have to do some grocery shopping, laundry, cut the front lawn, and maybe pull some weeds. If I have the time I will also go to the hospital and visit my wife.

Prayers to those in need.

Hi Guys

Stopped in for a quick Visit.

It was really coming down this morning, couldn't see the house across the street in fact. It cleared up this afternoon and its nice and cool out there ( 63F) really starting to feel like fall. Anybody else excited that football starts tomorrow? well I guess it started last Wednesday but the Packers play tomorrow so tomorrow is my opening day.

Had my RC tanks out after the rain today, got the tracks caked in mud and weeds real good. So I am off to clean them up and maybe grab something to eat.
