Good Morning All,

Thunderstorms, 66F, 87% humidity

Jeff, I so sorry to hear about your mother.

TA462, “Since its going to be a new one I doubt I'll call them though.  I've had or been around boats all my life. “

22 years in the Coast Guard that is exactly what everyone I’ve pulled out of the water said to me, some have added: “it happened so fast”.  Good luck with the new boat.

Good morning. It's 76° with 99% humidity. The expected rain chance for today has been cut in half. It will be partly cloudy with a high of 93° and an expected index of 106°.

Nothing but a bit of layout cleanup expected today. Last night was wet, windy and loud. Boy, did the weather guesser miss on that one!

Good Morning!!!

Just coffee this morning. Thanks.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 87. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Well too late to change my mind about what I threw away. The garbage men just came.

Jeff- I’m so sorry to hear the news about your Mother. I missed what was going on. I knew they kept her for longer, but I didn’t get why or that there was anything seriously wrong. Kind of a shock to hear. My prayers go out to her, you, your Father and all her family and friends.

I hope Ggot an appointment with the doc and has his ears checked. If nothing else he'll feel better there.

Well I got the floor finished yesterday, save the grouting, just in time to get settled it to watch China get cheated once again out of a medal in Beach VolleyballGrumpy. Hard to believe the #1 rated team in the world, not to mention Xue Chen being rated the #2 hottest player in the world, could possibly come away with nothing other than the Gold medal winning USA team claiming they were the toughest team they played. Whoopty doo. Small consolation.Grumpy Harrumph. USA I kinda understand, I mean that's how we got this great land of ours by cheating. Kinda a tradition, but Bra-ZIL???!! Come on. Musta felt sorry for them or heard about that wax they apparently have. I guess Brazilian wax must be better than Carnuba.Hmm Wonder if you can buy it up here. I'd try it on the truck. Indifferent On second thought, forget it. I'm boycotting Brazil. Robbed I tell you, ROBBED!!!!!

After the heart wrenching loss I set the toilet and then cleaned up all the mess and materials and tools I need no more on this little project and now am ready to grout.

And I hate grouting.Dead

Ya’ll have a good day!!!!

 Evening Dinners

 Flo, Beer Pleases.

Gary, you big tease! You know I want your Santa Fe Erie Built lash up! Laugh  As far as Alton IL, I loved it when I worked there! Great little town.

If IHC had not folded I was going to get one of there Streamers. I did start getting passenger cars, but only one heavy weight.

Foot Front. Remember the blisters I talked about last week? Well the one on the right foot that has the infected toe is starting to look nasty! Before the Toe Thing happened I would have blown-en it off! Not this time!

Train Front. Todd come get your friend Mr Murphy! Seems he has been playing with my Digitrax DB 150. All of the engines are running like the DB 150 is on the N Scale Settings and not HO. I have posted in the DCC section on how to get rid of him!

Work Front Well today sucked. So everything is normal.

 Jeffery you have a PM.

 See you all Thursday!

The weather guesser here should be boiled in oil or at least tarred and feathered and run out of town on a rail. The 'minor' small shower he reported turned out to be a full blown thunderstorm long on wind, rain, hail and lightning. Lots of lightning. Power was knocked out four or five times. I had heard it coming and got my stuff shut down with literally a few minutes to spare. Between power outages and afterward I watched playoff games of the Little League World Series that I had recorded on the DVR. Kentucky edged by Illinois 4-3 I believe and I'm currently watching Georgia give Virginia a case of heartburn. I do so like to watch kids having fun and these are having a blast.

Well, it's time for me to call it a night. Only some very minor layout work done today. See y'all tomorrow. We're looking at a 40% chance of rain then.

Evenin' folks!

Janie a tall glass of ice cold lemonade would really hit the spot right now.  Thank you Ma'am!

Went to the Pageant of Steam this afternoon with my son and his girls.  Made sure to pack the camera so i would get lots of good shots to share.....  My son had to clean out the junk on the front seat of his car to make room for, so I put the camera bag in the trunk of his car as there wasn't much room in the front or where the girls were in the back seat.  As I put the bag in there I told him to be sure to remind me to grab the camera when we got there.......  Yep, your right, camera stayed right in the trunk of the car.  i remembered when we got all the way to the other end of the 100 acre property!  The Pageant has quadrupled in size since the last time I was there probably a decade ago.  Only photos I got there are a few of an old Hay Loader.  I have searched in vain to find someone who makes these little farming gems in HO (or any other scale)...  Think it would make a good scratch build?

I remember the one we had on the farm when i was very young.  The last time we ever used it, I was about 2 or 3 years old and remember riding on my dad's knee on the Ford 8n while some of the neighbor farmers loaded the old wagon with hay.  We had a fork lift to take the hay off the wagon and drop it into the mow.  I'm not sure it was used that year as I don't remember it ever being used while I was growing up.  There may have been a stationary baler parked out back of the barn and bales went into the mow.  You can see one of the Hay Loaders in action here, complete with a pair of Guernsey Oxen at work.....  I still have the old 3 tine hay fork down cellar from the farm along with several other old farm stuff.

Jeffrey, very sorry to hear about your mother.  My prayers for all of you, and I hope she can go peacefully when it is her time!

Galaxy.....  Where art thou, Galaxy???  Hope you are OK!

Paul, prayers for your wife (and you) for a good outcome!

Later!

Evening All,

Was pretty busy doing stuff for the family today. My son dodged a legal bullet today. His lawyer did a really good job for him. He has a court hearing next Wednesday where he will take a plea and hopefully really learn something from it.

Great video and picture posting.

Jeff- Really sorry to hear about your Mom's prognosis. I am saying prayers for your family.

Galaxy- Hope your Doc figures out your dizziness very soon.

Barry- Saying prayers that nothing is found.

Ken- Hope work is going well.

Paul- Wishing you and your wife best wishes for her treatment. I will add her to my prayers.

TA462- Did you get a new boat?

Garry- Good to see you moving around and doing things.

I hope everyone has a good evening and prayers for those in need.

It is good to see all the posts with photos, videos, iced tea, etc. ....

I'm still trying to return to normal. Not there yet.

Not a lot of model railroad progress to report. I installed one decoder, and I assembled two freight car kits.

Good thing I got the grass cut today. We be getting rain here! That's cooled it down a little to 92 with an index of 100. There's a small storm system moving through and it looks like there's more to come. Weather guesser still says 20% chance. Looking at 40% for tomorrow. Had to use the MTD Yardman to mow the yard as the Peerless is still down. I need help blocking it up and pulling the transaxle but my 'helper' isn't being very helpful. Guess I'm going to have to do it myself though it means blocking up more than half a ton.

Have a train running now. An F7A and two F3B's pulling eighteen cars including three of the four I just recently got. The fourth one is boxed up ready to be sent out to a new owner. It'll be interesting to see what he has to trade for it.

Got the grass cut finally. It's already 88 out there but feels like over 105. Gotta go to town here in a bit to pick my parents dogs up from the groomer. Fun, fun. Yeah, right. Got the word on my mothers condition. The doctors say there's nothing they can do except make her comfortable.  It's looking like the end is drawing near.

 Morning All.

Expected high today 102. Right now it is a balmy 72, with a hint of smoke in the air. Must be a brush fire somewhere west as the slight breeze is coming from that direction.

Have to take the wife for a pre-registration and lab work for her out-patient port surgery today. The actual surgery is scheduled for Fri. She is a bit down and does not want to do it as we still do not know what type of chemo she will need. I think I have convinced her it is in her best interest to do it.

  Nice videos and pics everybody.

Mornin' everyone!

Janie, I'll have the #2 special this morning, over easy eggs, bacon, homefries, and a double order of sourdough toast, please and thank you!  Oh, yes, dark roast coffee to complete the meal.......

Currently 78°F outside with a high of 87°F around 3PM today.

Barry, great videos!!!  I should have some photos of the Pagaent of Steam tonight to share.  Info here.  This year they are featuring a collection of old Minneappolis Moline tractors.  I would still love to get my hands on the old Allis Chalmers B sitting next door to my son's house.........

I see Galaxy hasn't been in yet.......  Hope he is doing OK given what he was saying about being dizzy the last couple days.

I am still waiting on a couple packages to arrive to have materials to continue w*rk on the layout.  Should be arriving in the next couple of days from MicroMark and Fast Tracks.

Best get moving to get some things done before my son and the granddaughters arrive!

Later!

77F 56% humidity, a nice change to the weather we’ve had the past 8 weeks.

TA462, a new boat sounds cool.  Do you have a local Power Squadron or something up there that will give you a free safety inspection before you use the boat?

After 22+ years active duty the best I can do is sleep until 0600 no matter how late I’m up at night.  Now with my civilian job I have to get up at 0500, that’s only 60 minutes before revile so I adjusted pretty quickly.  I don’t miss the 26 or 48 hours days I pulled while on AD.

I just heard on the radio we are expected to get an inch of rain tomorrow.  Now the question is do I put the plug in my basement drain or trust the one way valve I installed last month?  I’ve had issues in the past with the storm water backing up into the basement during heavy rains and haven’t had any significant rain to see the one way valve work.  If I put the plug in the AC doesn’t have anywhere to drain and I get a small pool of water in the laundry room.  If I put the plug in I’ll have no way of knowing if the one way valve works or not.

Good Morning Modelers...

Currently 62F heading for the low 90's.  The total of 90+ degree days is now the 5th most in history and we are marching our way up to break the record that is sadly not that old either so it's just getting plain HOT around here.  Not much else to report today...

Good morning. It's 76° with 91% humidity. It's partly cloudy and there's a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. The high will be 95° and the weather guesser says it'll feel like 107°.

Well my parents yard looks like it needs mowing again, so guess what I'll probably be doing today. After I get that done I'll most likely be taking a look at a gondola that's giving me fits about derailing. It has plastic wheels. Wanna guess what the likely culprit is?

I have a loco boxed up and ready to go to a new home. I'm just waiting for word from the prospective new owner. I'm trading it for some new (to me) freight cars.

Good Morning!!!

Coffee and a slice of prime rib medium rare, two eggs scrambled loose and an order of fried potatoes please. Thanks.

A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 92.

Ken- Don’t recall exact time I went to bed Monday night, but it was kinda early for me I think.

Can’t go to bed too early or I get up too early. Like Jeff I never started sleeping in once I retired, so I’m up anywhere usually between 5 and 5:30. Sometimes I’ll sleep in til 6 (like today), or I’m up at 4 if I go to sleep too early. Occasionally if the temp is right and it’s raining with just a touch of a gentle rumble of thunder I won’t wake up til supper time or it quits raining, but most times between 5 and 5:30.

Jerry- Glad to see you!

G- I get dizzy and lightheaded sometimes too, but that usually is when I see a pretty girl. Oh! I mean it usually is when the weather is such that my sinuses cause it. Or so they say. My Dad used to get those spells and he would go into the Docs and they would do this ear cleaning flush thing and Dad would say they’d get things out of there that resembled squirrels, but he could hear better and he wouldn’t get dizzy as much. I guess a doc does better than we can with whatever they use. Not sure if it’s your problem of course, but hey, worth a check when you’re there. Thought about getting mine done just to see how much hearing I really have.

Didn’t do a dadgum thing with the bathroom yesterdaySigh. Things just didn’t w**k out in the everything else department and when I got a chance I just decided to not. I hate w**king evenings as it just puts the whole day in a conflict due to having to watch the clock so's not to be late for w**k. I know it’s terrible to complain about a job when so many would love to have one, but…., well, by golly it’s the truth.

So anyway today I must get back to the bathroom before Brenda actually says something about how long it’s taking. Hopefully Lee will start back on the layout so Murphy will stop over there to check on his progress.

Ya’ll have a good day!!!!
