Good Morning!!! Just coffee please. Thanks

Rainy today maybe a quarter inch or less high of 57 I think they said.

Barry- Sorry to hear about Audrey’s aunt.

Must have missed Jeff’s Mom’s back home too. Glad for that.

Don’t know how I miss this stuff.I’m not just skimming either.

Speaking of Jeffrey-  I like the steam loco even though you have the one by the park. Or did. Can’t remember if you put it back after the big earthquake that rearranged everything. But, the baggage car looks good as well. Personally, I think it would look better in a local such as the prototype for it. Off in the weeds somewhere forgotten. Don’t know if you have a local similar on the layout though. If not it needs to be utilized and where you have it now is as good as anywhere. Would be a shame not to use it.

Ken- Thanks for the heads up on Ulrich. I understand and…..

Ulrich- You are still in my thoughts and prayers hoss.

Have a safe trip Lee.

Still not liking this mouse. Could be it’s just a cheapy, but it’s obnoxious. Anyone have a wireless mouse? Is it normal to have to have the thing basically pointed right at the ...sending unit I guess you'd call it, to work smoothly or at all?

Today no outside w**k but I have a couple errands to run in town so I may combine that with a noonish run to see the Chinese girlsStick out tongue. I guess I can’t ask for Nancy/Susan any moreSad. Last time the lady who seated me seated me at someone elses  table (I usually point to her) and kinda tossed my silverware napkin combo on the table and gave me the stink eyeWhistling. Didn’t ask why because, well, who knows how that conversation would have goneLaugh. When she walked past with the bus cart (don’t konw why she was pushing the buscart in my section as she was across the restaurant in another section) she just smiled, waved and said “Hi how aw yooo?” Didn’t seem surprised or her usual upset. Actually upset is too strong of a word as is disappointed, but it’s as close as my limited vocabulary can get. Sounds gooder tooSmile, Wink & Grin.

Got some more to do on the cookbook cabinet I’ve let slide so I’ll do a bit more on that. It’s gonna turn out to be about the same as if I’d a bought a cabinet without doors already made. SighJust my luck. Anyway, then I’ll do some more odds and ends to get the dining room in order and the living room. Just about back to normal as far as clutter and displaced stuff from the remodel of the four rooms involved then w**k tonight.

Ya’ll have a good day!!!!

Lee: Don't spoil the granddaughters too much.

Good morning. It's 66° and partly cloudy. The high will be 78°. There's a 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms mainly in the afternoon. Becoming mostly cloudy later with a 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms tonight.

Nothing going on today, yet. I may work on the layout later. I'm getting ideas about taking up the Shell service center and putting something else there. I just don't know what yet.

Good Morning All!

Not much to report from the land of Buckeyes on this sunny but cool Friday morn other then I replacing the KD wannabes with KDs on the few cars I bought over the last three months.I won't change out the couplers on my last new Walthers cars since they have the newer Proto Max II couplers-a KD #5 metal clone with knuckle spring.A very nice coupler.I still have 7 cars to go.It was rather relaxing listening to train songs as I changed out the couplers.

I shall have a cup and look over the forum.

Have a good'un!

Good morning .......

Did somebody say coffee? Is it Starbucks from Washington State, by chance? .... Thanks Sue! .... I'll have a pecan roll, too, please.

Galaxy .... I'm glad you are happy. You said fat, dumb and happy. You're not dumb for sure, and I don't know if you have a fat problem.

Bill T .... I like the picture of the NKP PA locomotive.

Curt ...... Hope the layout construction project goes well.

Lee ... Have a great trip.

Todd ..... We have been using battery mouses for a few years without problems except batteries must be replaced at times. ... If I'm in your town I might avoid that restaurant. At least Elliot's has friendly service.

Jeff .... You did such a good job making teh baggage car look like the one you showed here. All you need is lots of tall grass, weeds, and small trees growing all over the scene.

Larry ... Good to see you here from Land of the Buckeyes. That is a good idea to replace couplers as you described.

Ulrich ... You've not been in the Diner much lately. I hope you are okay.

Jerry .......... I like your layout photo, and I'm glad you had a good visit.

 Morning Fellow Dinners

 Flo, big Coffee please.

What a yack day so far, cold and Storm. Sue has been out here about 6 times so far telling me what I need to buy.

This just drives me nuts! We both have Town Cars, same style but mine is 2 years newer. They have the same insides, but there are a few options that are not the same. Biggest differences is the heater controls and mine has a sunroof. She just wanted to go to the library and my car is behind hers. She wanted me to move my car so she could get hers out. Asked her "Why don't you take my car?" Her answer is "I don't know anything about your car"! Bang Head There the same darn cars! Library is a whole 4 mile round trip! I just don't understand her. Sigh

It is time to break out the track cleaning train. Now that I am running my passenger train on the A line, I am not running a track cleaning car with the train. After about 2 to 3 hours of run time the rails start getting dirty and the engines start running poorly. Takes 3 pass to make the rails better, 10 passes and the engines lights stop flickering.

Well, I will drop by later.

Being a fan of "Dark Shadows" with Jonathan Frid as Barnabas it saddens me to report his passing; age 87.  Here shortly Johnny Depp's version will be coming out and Jonathan Frid and others from the original version do have a short appearances in it.

Mornin' everyone!

Slept in late this morning.... Zoe, I'll have the #2 special, eggs over easy, bacon, home fries, and a double order of sourdough toast this morning along with my usual dark roast coffee in a R&GV RR mug.  Thank you Ma'am.

Going to be a nice day here in the Finger Lakes Region.  Currently 74°F under sunny skies.  Major fire risk though due to wind and very low humidity.

Todd, I love my Logitech M305 wireless mouse.  Have little problems with at all.  A set of batteries last at least 6 months with it, and I have never had problems with connection issues.  Price at Staples ... $29.95.  I talked to the lady at the Mac store yesterday about an issue with my stand alone hard drive.  We also chatted about the "Magic Mouse" from Apple.  She laughed and said they agree with me about it's not being something can w*rk for a lot of people and applications.  She said, "That's why we also sell Logitech ones...."

Ken,  Haul that car in the photo over to Jeffrey's house.  He'll get it back on the road for you.... Whistling

Best get to doing something constructive I guess.

Later!

Ken: It is NOT for us to understand a spouse. Or any other person for that matter. That is what we have "communication" for. "Communication" is: To "exchange and express"  ideas, truths, {falses}, theories, thoughts and utter nonsensical dsiconnected idle ramblings of the human mind.

Well, naturally the weather is warma gain today and this system bringing such weather has given me a migraine, actually a continuance of yesterday's.

ULRICH- If he is reading posts...I hope you are doing well. You may be in a pinch, bind, spot or situation right now, but as low as you are, things can only look up and travel in that general direction. {We hope}

Speaking of situations and binds, spots or pinches, we have cancelled our expanded cable offerings in favor of the basic 22 channels. We may be missing them terribly soon as mid-next month when the termination order for extended cable takes plce, but summer is comming and so are repeats of our fav shows, and we simply cannot afford the high price they want for them! So we will have Roadrunner internet and 22 channels to watch..still expensive at $60/mo. They want it in the OVER $100 + per month bracket! WIth no pay channels either. That for the 20 channels of any spectrum we watch is just to much for us, and we can save/spend on other bills. We will just have to adjust to the lower 22 channels. My father says "no one needs more than two channels anyway..the one they are watching and the one they flip to during commercials"!!

Dish or Other satellite offering are not in the cards as they dont include any local news channels and we like our local news. SO to pay for satellite and the 22 channels, we might as well stick with cable. We MIGHT try it if it wasn't for the one year commitment to them. WE COULD get one of 4 local free aired channels on a digital tuner and get the others on satellite. THAT would be an option, but not at the prices of $39.95/mo they want..really well maybe worth considering. But according to all neighbors who have said networks, the clearity goes when in a storm, and the quality may not be good even on a sunny clear day! They all seem to go back to cable. SO dunno. But then we would also have to pay for cable internet at $35/month..so are we saving anything? not really but it would be cheaper that way to get teh channels we love I guess.

WEll, enough of my utter nonsensical dsiconnected idle ramblings of my human mind.

Dinner shall be bar-b-qued shaved pork on a hard roll {never could figure that out..why it's called a hard roll when they are soft and squishy}. With a side of spinach and spring garden lettuces. YUM.

Here I sit, fat, dumb and happy. Pirate

Afternoon All,

After getting groceries I received quite a surprise. Jon from the LHS called and said he was done with the sound installBig Smile on my RS-1. So instead of mounting the extension to the layout I picked up the loco and ran it on the layout. The sound is great. I shot a short video for WPF. Well it's starting to thunder so I have to go.

Morning all.

Bought myself a HD Video camera yesterday, A Samsung HMX-F80 only $200 not a bad deal!

I also bought a Plasticville house for the layout, Is it just me or have they improved alot in quality recently?

On the police incident the other day, the guys father claims the detectives fabricated the whole story, and were doing some sort of criminal elimination. You wouldn't know it happened there on Tuesday, all signs of it have disappeared. (Remember its a couple hundred feet down the road.)

Gonna do a bit of layout work today.

Evening All,

Made Jambalaya for supper. It was plenty hot for me Whistling but I'm sure Jeff would say it was wimpy. Nothing planned for tonight and only thing planned for tomorrow is the train club for a little bit. Sunday my Dad and I are going to the  FL train museum so that should be fun.

Lee- Have a safe trip and  have a great time with your granddaughters.

Ken- I have been married almost 34 years and I still don't understand MOH.

Garry- Very nice scene in WPF.

Ulrich- I'm thinking of you buddy.

OZ Jim- Looking forward to some HD videos.

Well the lightning is coming in again so I have to go. Have a good evening and prayers for those in need.

I might at that. My idea of spicy makes the habañero pepper cower in terror while the bottom is dissolved out of the chili bowl!Laugh My father's idea of hot and my idea of hot are two different things entirely. His idea of hot is a little Tabasco sauce (30,000 to 50,000 Scoville units). For me a little Tabasco sauce isn't even a halfway descent start. What's pleasing to me sends him running in search of a fire hydrant or the nearest container of milk depending on which one is closer. My idea of HOT is 1,500,000+ Scoville units, about the level of law enforcement pepper spray. For everyday use I use Da Bomb hot sauce mixed with Tabasco sauce.

Time for me to call it a night. Storms are slamming through here one after the other. Went to my parents place earlier and fixed my mothers evening meal for her then made sure she got to bed OK. After that I was headed home. I had parked my van in the south driveway. From there it's downhill to the house. That also means it's UPHILL from the house to the van. Add to that it was pouring rain when I left. At least I got my hair washed!

See y'all tomorrow.

Good Evening Everyone,

A decent day here with sun and about 50F but we are supposed to get rain tomorrow.\

Bob, sorry I missed it , but a belated Happy Anniversary to you and your wife. Sounds like you had a nice day and a good dinner too. Maxim's isn't far from us but I have to admit I've never eaten there. We used to go to Mirlycourtois for special dinners until it closed, then Provence until it closed last December. Not sure where we'll go now.

Todd, I have a Logitech wireless mouse model #M305 and find it great. This computer has Bluetooth and I have a Bluetooth mouse but find that it loses signal fairly often with the computer so I just went with one that has the little reciever you plug in.

Ken, hope you get the store you want or a new boss. I do sympathize as I'm having issues right now with our company President. I don't report to him so that is good, in fact I report to the company that bought us out a while ago so he doesn't really have any direct control over me and I think that annoys him a lot and that my current boss is higher up the pecking order than he is.

On the train front I took a couple of locos to the consignment hobby shop last weekend. An Athearn RS3 and a Spectrum Decapod. Oh, and a N scale Kato RDC. I don't run the RS3 or the Decapod much as I don't really like either one much. They run fine but I guess it is just a matther of taste. The RDC is new but I have one and after the trials

f installing a decoder in it I just don't want to do another.  Once they sell I will easily have my new loco covered. I did pick up a great book that is part of a series about CN steam in southern Ontario. It was a consignment item and a great price. I plan on going tomorrow and getting another.

Jerry, great to see you in here again. How is Sallie doing?  You sure have done a lot on your new layout, it is really looking good. Have a nice weekend with your daughter and grand daughters.

Well I guess I've bored you enough for a while so I'll sign off now.

Here is a quick layout video I did with the new camera, still testing the functions, the backlighting from the windows created a bit of a fuzzy video, but so far I'm pretty happy.

I was going to say that you are 'one hot guy' but that could easily be misinterpreted so I won't go there.Smile, Wink & Grin We are not quite so much into hot sauce but we manage to go through a large bottle of Frank's hot sauce every month. Evenin' folks!

Janie, just a decaf right at the moment....

Been a busy day today.  Did get quite a bit done.  Got all the rest of the wood in the driveway split and stacked except for the couple small logs that need to be cut...  Probably will get THAT done Sunday afternoon.  I plan on cutting back some shrubs by the house.  Probably not the best time of year to do it, but I need to severely cit them back this time around and hope they come back.  If they don't,  THAT is OK too.  I'll put something else there.  Need to get them cut down before May first as the city will be out doing the spring cleanup thingy in my neighborhood then.

Got about 6 foot of rail in place and glued/soldered/gauged down...  It is the start of the second yard in that portion of the layout.  I hope to put one more track in there with this rebuild.  Using the NMRA Recommended Practices this time around!  Need to have a few tracks done before the handicapped Boy Scout Troop comes for a visit as part of the RR Merit Badge on May 1st.

Tomorrow I have to head out the Museum for a few hours to help with a Boy scout Troop doing a service project there.  May not get on the puter before i go.

Prayers for all in need.

Catch you all later!

 Evening Fellow Dinners!

 Flo, Beer Please.

Ray Why would I want to send this Charger To Jeffery?

I am not bragging, but I could rebuild it my self! That was pretty much what I left of another Charger when I cut this out

 to save mine!

Mine is the Red Charger before the Supercharger and I did the blue one as well for a friend.

James I like your layout, but you sure do talk funny mate. Big Smile

Hi Ho Hi Ho its off to HR I Go. Got Larry stealing another one of my tickets today! I had set up a reservation for today at 8:00 PM. Customer he knew need a radiator, so I priced the radiator, labor and coolant. They all so wanted a transmission flush and I added that as well.

Today when I got to work the car had not been cashed out. Well the ticket was opened any my number so Larry knew it was a reservation and opened it. But, I did noticed the order of the line item's where not the same as I had listed. New services manager in training (Tony) knew it was a reservation because he was with me when I did the pricing. Just shook his head and told me "You need to say something today"!

Went to the shop and Larry was standing behind his counter eating his pizza. Saw me and yelled "Get Back Up Front and Watch The Your Counter"!

I looked at him and yelled back "Stop Rewriting My Tickets and Stealing From Me'! Then I slammed the paper work into the Center Of His Pizza and went back up front. I must say it felt good.

I am off Saturday, so on my day off I am E-Mailing the Auditor, HR, Dave and Neil the division manager that wanted me hired in the first places!

Well, that is all I have to say about that!

 See you all Saturday!

Ken!

I wish you were in a better place work wise. However, given the realities of your situation, I think you are apparently pretty much in control. If you don't think so, then you should stand back for a minute (or for the weekend) and think about who has the higher moral ground. Obviously, that is you! The facts are in your favour! Don't back down!

My wife is in a seriously negative work situation right now in a Long Term Care seniors facility to which she has recently been assigned as an Administrator. These are seniors who can no longer look after themselves and they need major assistance to get along in life. She has recently had evidence that some of the care providers are neglecting the residents big time, i.e. falsifying care records (gave so and so a bath today - didn't happen! So and so ate a meal at this time - didn't happen!) and being off of the ward for two or three hours with no one to cover for them. This is nasty stuff. Sorry to be posting a downer! However, the poor performers (to put it politely) are no match for my wife! She will prevail!

One thing I like about the model railroading community is that almost all of the posts speak from a reasonable, sensible point of view. I believe that we are a good group of people!

I'm just a dude with a bad back having a lot of fun with model trains, and finally building a layout!
