Good morning.  Just stopped by for coffee in a NP mug.  I am route setting today down at the rockgym.

The MR site wouldn't let me in yesterday.

Jeffrey,  I like #1 yesterday.  Also, the scene that you posted early yesterday was great.Thumbs Up

I hate when you have something to say and can't get through.

Later, Sue

Good Morning All,

29F but no wind or humidity to speakl of so it isn't too chilly outside .  Rob - That's great news on the note for the farm. we got ours done a couple of years back but immediately rolled it over to keep the shop afloat.

Terry - that is one sharp scene you showed us. Very nice.

Curt - the new trackwork looks much better and I'm sure will operate much better for you.

Jeff -  glad the big storm missed you. The weathering is going nicely. Will we get to see a consist of weathered stuff anytime soon?

Ray - If everything happens at once that should mean you get a lull between, right? What did you finally do about your stione building? Did I miss a solution?

Good to hear from Sam and even better he has moved up the ranks a bit. Does that mean no more extra board Sam?

Oz James better look out! News here is we're to contest the Tasman recreation series at Eastern Creek Raceway west of Sydney this November. Plan is to go on to New Zealand for the Southern Festival in January after that. We'll see if it really happens this time.

Sue - You're up early again. 5 am, right? Most ambitious.

     Catch Y'all later, J.R.

Good Morning!! Coffee and um….just coffee I suppose.

Patchy fog before 9am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 46.

Happy B-Day (late) Sue!!

Rob- Congrats on paying off the farm. Just think, now all you’ll owe is the taxes.Whistling Sorry.

Welp, the stove arrived and in good condition. I got the cord swapped, and leveled and installed plus a new range hood installed. The kitchen remod is officially ….wait for it…waaaaait for it…..complete.

Ordered the cabinets for the “oh look there’s and empty spot, let’s put it there” room. They should be in in 10 days to two weeks. When I hang those, then that room will be completed, making the remodel list look like this.

Entrance way and hall way flooring replaced.  Hall bathroom flooring replaced.   Living room flooring replaced.    Dining room flooring replaced.    Kitchen flooring replaced.    New refrigerator and stove.     “Oh look there’s an empty spot let’s just set it there” room new floor and cabinets.

Next is the Master bathroom flooring and sink top and hopefully some way to keep from replacing the fiberglass shower stall with a tile oneConfused. Then the office gets new wood floor and the master and other bedroom carpet. Hopefully this will get done prior to the weather turning to Spring for the outside list. Meantime I have a car to w**k on because I will not start another remodel project until the cabinets are installed and that room is done. New Years resolution still holding up and it’s been what 8 months now? I think I can do itYes Big Smile.

The reason we choose from 100 beauties for Miss America and only two numbskulls for President is because we can only find two (and it’s tough) politicians that haven’t been caught or think it’s been swept under the rug enough for most of us to believe their honest. Hardest part is we only have 4 years to find someone.

Floor Wars Williamsville: Phase.... I lost track - See above. Well not right above.

Gotta start cleaning on the old stove and hood. Since there is absolutely nothing wrong with the stove aside from it’s color (that didn‘t sound good did it), were gonna donate it to the Mission Center in Springfield. They actually give items to needy families that are donated. They of course have to prove their needy somehow, but it’s not something that they pay for like at Goodwill. I like that better. We’re giving stuff away so the needy can buy it? No, I’d rather give it away so the needy can HAVE it for free. We gave a lot of Mom’s stuff there. They take all kinds of things. Anything actually. We still give to the Goodwill. Things like clothes and shoes. Well, I don’t have any clothes or shoes to donate cause I wear them till they fall apart, but Brenda the “That’s old I need another pair” donates. Not much really. But the household stuff, we take to the Mission place. Not sure of the exact name I just know were it is. Oh, and it is legit. Our Church deals with them.

Let’s see what else was I gonna say? Can’t remem… Oh ya, Saw on the news about my sleeping problems. Turns out a study links trouble sleeping with Alzhiemers down the road. So I got that to look forward to. I guess. If I remember. Anyway, I felt so relieved to find out it wasn’t anything real serious just yet, that I slept all night.

Ya’ll have a Great Day!!!

Rob! Thumbs UpThumbs UpThumbs Up  Great feeling having the mortgage paid off isn't it!  I know about THAT.  My house has been paid off for about a year now, and it still feels good.  I can now put money aside to get all those little things I have been putting off for years done little by little.  The painters are down cellar right now starting the first coat on the floor. WinkWinkSmile, Wink & Grin  New hearing aids within a month, and by Fall a new roof on the house........

Todd has what?  "Old Timers Disease"?  Huh?  Does it involve deafness?  Oh, can't remember stuff, huh?  What were we talking about?  I don't remember either........

Rob: Congrats on paying off the farm. That's a strain off the wallet. One thing I'm happy about is that I owe nothing on my home. I'd be in big trouble if I did. I do have to make an annual payment on the land lease though. That's a whopping amount of $1 a year!

Huh?  Deja Vu all over again.......?

Zoe, need a refill on the dark roast please...  What do you mean I already drained the pot?  You could make another pot ya know.  Besides, I think Rob needs a couple more cups as well.

What was that you said Barry

Painters just left after putting the first coat on the floor.  They will back this afternoon to put the second coat on and finish up.  Gonna look nice!  In the meantime I have some grocery shopping to do and get my allergy shot on the way.

Good morning. It's 59° and cloudy with some fog. The high will be 72° with breaking clouds and some sun.

It looks like we'll have a brief respite from the rain today but indications are for more showers to come in tonight with more rain over the weekend. Anybody wanting fresh rain water should send down a train of tank cars and fill up. Then you'll have more rain water than you'll ever need.

My plan for today is to weather some freight cars. I have seven blue boxcars in front of me, one L&A and six KO&G that are way too clean and shiny. They all also have the same number. All that will have to change. I have some old dry transfers that may take care of the number problem. That depends on whether they're too old or not.

Today my life changes forever. I hope I will have time to work on my layout. My duties as vice-president of my parents heavy machinery recycling business start today. My study-at-home college courses for accounting and business management start next week so it looks as if I will have a lot on my plate for a while. How many guys go from unemployed 18 year old high school graduate to VP of a nation-wide company overnight! This is a huge step for me. I hope I do not trip on the way up.

 Morning Fellow Dinners!

 Flo, Diet Dew Please.

Thanks for all the Cake wishes for Sue! Big Smile I will have to show her, she will get a kick out of it!

Rob Yes on paying off the Farm! I hope some day to have this house paid off. If or when I get a shop, I do plan on making 1.5 payments a month.

Curt I like your skunks in the picture you posted. If I ever get to my LHS again, I might pick up a couple for my wooded area.

Ulrich MIA With my last round of not feeling like posting I can understand why he has not posted for a while. When you have nothing fun to talk about, why bother posting.

Afternoon All,

Ran errands this morning and cleaned the train room floor. It was a mess after all of the rip out I have done lately. I put some ground cover down around the new roadbed. I w**k tomorrow and Sunday, I also am helping MOH at Weikiva State Park for volunteer appreciation day so I have a filled weekend with no MRR in sight.

Rob- Congrats on paying off the farm. I'm sure that is a load off your back.

David- Good luck on the new job and remember to take care of your employees.

Take care everyone.

Rob- Yes Thumbs Uppaying off something and not owing a darned thing on it is a great feeling for a few minutes.... Then the major repair bills start to set in....

David- YesThumbs Upcongratulations! You said you hope you don't trip on the way up. You WILL trip AND fall...but you will learn hard lessons then. Remember these things: 1} book learning and real life are two different stories! 2} Keep up on the latest/greatest/newest technology and processes-they will become your new business 3} remember to listen to and value what elders have to say...they have learned those hard lessons teh hard way I spoke of in #1. 4} you will have to spend money to make money...invest in the new processes of #2 to keep up and making money for your business! 5} re3member that those elders in #3 will find it hard to work for a "snotty nosed kid whose parents handed him a golden platter", so make yourself endeared to them by listening to them!   GOod luck!

Well,

I am sore and hurting today from yesterday's activities still. not as much as yesterday, but still some a lot. Doing a load of laundry. when that one done, wil see if i can do another.

Planning Liver, bacon and onions for dinner..IF i can stand there at stove long enough to saute onions and fry a 1/2 # bacon....

well...thats all folks...

David - My very best wishes on your new endeavors. Being  honest and fair in your dealings with others will bring you much success. And you appear to have those qualities already.

A cheese bagel with cream cheese, toasted, and mocha latte to drink please? I love the menu here, you can get anything under the sun, it's all tasty and the price is right!

I officially left my job at the tobacco warehouse today, my lungs couldn't stand it anymore. I'll miss having a full-time pay-check for the time being but there are other full-time jobs out there that won't hurt my respiratory system.

As for the model railroading world, I have many nice freight car kits to build up in the next few weeks and the wherewithal to do just that Smile I've also decided to sell a substantial number of pieces online, mainly N&W hoppers built from shake the box kits and a brass N&W caboose. I'll get that done over the next couple days.

Evening All,

Flo I would love a cup of Decaf please. I cooked dinner tonight since MOH worked. We had breaded pork chops, peas and garlic bread. Turned out pretty well considering I have little cooking skills.

I went ahead and mounted the Miller Engineering PRR lighted Billboard to the building and the layout. I hard wired and soldered the leads yesterday. I got the wiring kit so I don't have to mess with batteries. The video is of the sign (13 seconds). It has different flash patterns and I like this one the most.

Hope everyone has a good night. Prayers for those in need or not feeling well.

Baked chicken dinner, please.

***Curt, nifty sign there. Watched a number of your layout videos. You have made some really good ones.

***Todd, with all the extra practice you're getting there, how about coming over and laying some times here, too. You know, in your spare time.Laugh

The frackin goats have escaped one to many times, or perhaps 10 to many. Saw them across the road and up on the new neighbors freshly planted hillside this evening. Chased them back into the middle pasture. Then, dragged, rolled and kicked a partial roll of fence a couple hundred yards (used to carry those things) and cut it into sections to repair all the goat holes. So much for a rest day when starting back up on full MP treatment for sarcoidosis. I'm spent. All that is left is to figure out how much to sell the goats for and make the ad.

Going to go collapse in the corner booth awhile. If I fall asleep, please let me be. Thanks! Sigh Rob
