CP guy:

If it makes you feel any better, I've been trying to find the F-stop on my Canon 7.2 for the past two YEARS, LOL!

BTW, those are really beautiful locomotives!

Motley

I have a set of the MTH Daylight cars too. I'm planning on getting the MTH GS-4. Right now I run them with P2K SP E7 AB set.

The Rio Grande F3s are Intermountain w/sound. They are excellent runners.

Always love to see Rio Grande - that one has the same number as comes on the Proto 2000 also!

Looks like another good weekend here!  I helped to man the Lakshores Division NMRA Table today for a Modelers Corner.  Managed to find time to basically finish another #6 Turnout during the day:

Also spent time (most if the time I think) talking to people about the Division and the NMRA....

Partial loco makes a great 'scene stealer' when weathered to the point of being ready for the scrap yard. I posted this model earlier this week as what to make from a 'lemon'; lemonade of course.

Thanks, Tom, you just swelled my head up. I am quite proud of the 2816, I gotta admit. That loco runs all the time, and is a constant maintenance headache. It runs strong and pulls like an ox, but it's really hard on driver springs for some reason.  But it is run probably 5 hourse each and every week, so it gets a workout.

I hear you on the F-stop thingy. I'm the guy Instamatics were designed for.

Sentinel Coal was getting behind on supplies, and it was also behind on coal shipments.  The idea was to have fewer trains on the spur trying to get to sidiings.  So, they contracted with the PRR to haull freight in, and used their locomotives to haul coal out.   I caught the first long run of a freight into Sentinel headed by a massive 2-10-4 J1.

Great scenes Crandell and Carl.

Chad- The station looks great and you must have good eyesight to model in Z scale.

Thanks Curt!

I do have some Mag glasses, but I'm near sighted & sometimes I just take off my specks & go free eye.. What is worse is if I am having a 'shaky' day.. Not so good.. Actually they are pretty easy, I think the effort in detailing PE parts in HO is not that different than in smaller scales.. Just trust youself & jump into it!    Thanks for the compliment!

Tom Thanks a lot My Friend Its Been awhile. Im glad to be back working at it.

AltoonaRailroader

I use Scenic Express Trees, They come in bulk, you have to separate them to find the trees size your looking for then paint them , dip them in a, i use 70 /30 water and glue, course turf hairspray, i think there a lot of fun plus more realistic  and the benefit of this in this economy is you can make hundreds for a small price .

Thank you for the praise. The "how to" book on the camera is the size of a phone book!

This camera does so much by the time I learn 1/2 it will be out dated.

TomKat,

Well you are doing very well, your DOF is excellent, as well as the lighting.
The models steal the show, especially the forethought of all the schenes within!

Keep up the great work!!!   I look foward to more!!

Nothing exciting to show this week, but a significant milestone was achieved: I now have spline roadbed completed for the mainline on the entire lower level of the layout. Not only is this a satisfying accomplishment, but it really clears the way for getting the final design of the lower level done. The photo below shows the new mainline through Clahoun, GA, where several industries will be served by a local:

Here are three pics of the Silverton Northern RR shop I built this week. Pretty much per prototype, but I took a few shortcuts in places out of view and narrowed the machine shop on the rear to fit the available space. The structure is black foamboard covered with Northeastern #55051 corrugated roofing, with styrene cut from a "For Sale" sign from the big box for the roof.

Nice job on the shop! Looks better than one of those high price limited numbered kits. Also I like that MOW steam shovel.

I really loved my model power RS-2 but of course it ran like crap. I also had a MP c -624 or something like that. So I took the contacts off of the second loco and put them on the RS-2 making it 8 wheel pick up. It's still a model power but runs much better this way.
