Rob Cederstrand email address...
Posted by wetidlerjr on Monday, October 17, 2011 1:49 AM

Heartland Division CB&Q

I obtained emails for many of you and emailed the sad news about Rob Cederstrand.

I am sorry I could not reach all of you.

Yesterday afternoon I received a sad email from Rob Cederstrand of the Diner. I have been obtaining email addresses and sending messages.

Rob's wife Barbara, passed away suddenly. Rob is too upset to talk on phone. Condolences can be emailed:

Send me a PM for his email address.

I can't PM as this site says you don't exist. Send me his email if you can.

I echo that. Garry, that is why I said I tried to PM you 3 times yesterday and maybe you got them, maybe you didn't. I think it's the latter.

I thought maybe that feature had been cut out for the weekend, but I was successful with Jeffrey's PM back and forth so I imagine when your name disappears when trying to "send" it, it is as he says, it doesn't recognize your name.

Unless you have turned off PMs somehow, you should contact Kalmbach.

have  a great day

 Morning

 Flo, glass of juices please.

Feel like stuff this morning, feel like I maybe getting a fever again.

If I do hear from NTB, not sure if I am going to be up to working today.

I did use Rob's site to get his e mail and sent him one. Just to bad we don't live closer to each other.

Well, I am going to lay back down for a few.

WEll, we got the battery for the generator and the wheel and handle kit, so we expect to try out the ne generator today...IF the BLOODY weather holds! WE have STILL had so much rain,,,not enough to repeat teh flood, but enough to unnerve us. It has been a record year for rain this year.

Went and help my brother at his shop yesterday. he had puled out all documents form the file cabinet, laid them onthe floor and hosed the mud off them then used fans to dry them. I had to reorganize inteh files for him. It took a good toll on my back, though. I will ahve to help him at EOY to clear out and re-start his filings as his last GF who "reorganized tehm did it backward to accounting/filing priciples. what a mess. I will also help him wiht hand tools that need to be scrubbd and then WD40'd to save from rust. He does body work only , and lost aobut a months rvenue and pay during after the flood.

The idea is tha I help him and he will help us by replacing hte floor under the toilet, adn to buid a dog house for the generator so when it is out in inclement weather if it cover and somewhat protect front eh elements.

I guess we are expecting a No'easter strom to set upon us and roate. MOH is worried the power will go out again.. so wnats the generator ready. {we have yet to start it...but will make it easier to flip to insatll the wheels.} Must get that done today as is supposed to be patly cloudy/partly sunny and NO RAIN for once.

WEll that is what is  on the agenda for today. wish us luck

A prayer candle Angel is lit for ROb and his wife, and for others who may need special thoughts and prayers.

Well that is all for now.

Take care today

Hum, really starting to wonder what is up. Just called Dave at NTB, got his voices mail again. Stores opened up at 7:00 AM, called at 7:30 AM so he should be working by now.

Good thing I have some other interviews set up!

Good morning, Chloe.  I will have a quick coffee please.

Question:  Since the forum site changed, I am not sure how to PM?   You used to do it in the reply area.

Dave just returned my call! He has not got back the results for my drug test yet and this weekend he was trying to get away from work.

He said he will call me around 1:00 PM and we will meet at the Fairview Heights store and not to worry I am in.

Now, I have to call the job interview I have set up today and see if I can set that interview for later this week. Reason? Not burning any bridges till I sign all the New Hire paper work at NTB!

Sue From my end the form seems the same to me. It just might be they have not got the PM section up and running yet. I was able to use PM on one I was all ready having with a member. Then I tried to start a new one and would not work.

Where's Ulrich? I hope he is okay. We exchanged emails Saturday, and he knows about Rob.

I don't think the PM's or "your friends" or whatever is functioning. I have no "friends" now. I just got a request from Bama to be a friend, but it would not allow me to accept.

Emails. .... Rob is appreciating all the emails he is getting. I do not know how many he can answer now.

I don't want to post his email address here, but you can find it easily. ... Google "robert cederstrand" (spell "ceder" not "cedar").  Then you can find his wedsite .....  http://cederstrand.homestead.com/cederstrandstudio.html ....

At the bottom of the home page of Cederstrand Studios, click on "ordering information". This brings you to page with the email address along with a photo of Rob with an alpaca (or llama or whatever)..

Also, if you have contacts with some members of the forum, many now have Rob's email address, too. Try JimCG, Duke, or Jeff

Bama. .. I was not able to accept you as a friend. Now, I have no "friends". (typical!). I could not get your email when I was trying on Saturday. Try emailing Rob using his email address for his art studio website.

Bill T ... Good to hear from you, too. Follow above instructions to email Rob. I don't think anyone here has your address, but that's okay now that MR forum is open. .

Galaxy .. I mentioned you when I emailed Rob, but I'm sure he would appreciate a direct email.

Ray ... I mentioned you in one email to Rob because you had lost you wife and would know how Rob feels.

I don't think anyone has an email address for Sue&Larry. Sue, you can email Rob directly, too.

Ken .... Can you contact Simon to let him know about Rob. Were you able to email Rob?

The special train now has 11 passenger cars, 3 cabooses, 2 steam locos, and 4 diesels.

Good Morning!! Just coffee please. Thanks.

High today they say, will be 60 degrees. I suppose it is Fall.

Still kinda down about Rob’s wife. For me that is rather…different considering I know him no better than I do. I guess this Diner really has made friends out of strangers who have never met. Angel

Got a million little things to do today.

Ya’ll have a Great Day!!!

Um, the above statement may have sounded like I don't really often care about someones loss. That is not the case. I do. What I meant was, most times when I hear of a loss, I am....can't think of the right word...remorseful? But, considering how I know him, or all of you for that matter, I am feeling more like a real friend has had the loss instead of just an acquaintence over the internet. I realized also, that when any of you have a...situation, I react differently than I would expect myself to under the circumstances.

This Diner is much more than just a forum thread with nice people. It truly is like the big table in the back of a small town diner where frinds gather. I thank each and every one of you for the opportunity to be a part of this outstanding group. Bow

Morning All,

Just found out that the next 2 workdays I will be with lawyers and in a hearing for a wrongful termination of a co-worker. I was his union rep at the time.

Todd- No need to apologize. I am like you and understood what you were saying. It is amazing how much everyone matters to each other without ever meeting in most cases.

Everyone take care.

Good morning. It's 60° and cloudy. The high will be 87° and it will be partly cloudy.

Nothing special going on today. I did a count on my DCC locos last night. I'm up to twenty-six. Today I'll be ripping apart a Bachmann SD45. Another modeler wants the drive shafts from it. I also have to get a covered hopper and some loco parts boxed up for delivery up north. Other than that there's not much going on here.

Gary I got Rob's E Mail address from his site and sent it off Sunday. I all used a PM that I all ready had going with Simon to let him know about Rob's wife.

Jeffery My conversation was all ready set up to yes when I found the section. Seems IT has fixed it now. Looks like the one I just sent you went through.

Just taking a break, so I thought I would stop in and say hello. Got up this morning and went and had breakfast, then a little grocery shopping, then back home to do two loads of wash and throw one load in the dryer. Also gave the bedroom a quick clean up. I'm about ready to go back to bed.

I'm also waiting to hear if my wife, who is still in the hospital, will be transfered to a Skilled Nursing Center today. There were no beds for women on Friday, so we will see what happens today. I must admit, I'm totally unprepared for all this. She never likes me helping her too much with household chores, says if I don't want to do things her way, go away... But that has got to change in the future because I now spend most of my time looking for things and wondering how does she do this or that.

Isn't it nice to see so many expressions of sorrow being offered with regards to Rob's loss. To my mind, it is an example of a  positive sense of community that has delveloped here over time. Hope everybody has a great day.

Mornin' everyone!

I'll have a slice of the Apple Strudel and a cup of dark roast coffee to get started today.

I slept in a bit this morning.....  Going to be a fast paced and high pressure week to get everything done before next weekend!   Last night I lit the wood stove for the first time this year.  Needed to take the chill off after being out in the cold all day yesterday.  Guess it is time to take the last air conditioner out of the window, the weather forcast doesn't show the temp getting out of the 50's for the next 10 days.  Guess it is time, so THAT will be part of todays w*rk.

Somebody a few pages back asked about my scenery technique....  I use foam, or just the plywood base to start.  Then I cover it with plaster cloth and add 2 or 3 coats of dilluted (pancake batter consistency) joint compound over it.  The plaster cloth eliminates any cracking of the plaster, and I just like the results I get with plaster.  Years ago I did the old plaster soaked paper towels over wadded up newspaper thing for hardshell.  While I have seen some incredible modeling using painted foam, much looks just like.... ah, painted layers of foam to me...  Nature doesn't put down nice even level layers of rock. Whistling  I always advise people to use what works well for them and what they are comfortable and enjoy.  I just like to w*rk with plaster...  Seems to do well for me.

Tom, I am keeping you and your wife on my prayer list as you go through her recovery period.  Hope they are able to find a room in skilled nursing care soon!

Rob, if you are checking in here, my thoughts and prayers are with you and yours.  Yes, I have been through this personally, and have some idea what this is like for you.  For me it was something we knew was happening a few weeks before my wife died after a long illness.  I know what a horrible shock you have been through and the changes it will bring for you.  My very best to you during this time.....  It does get better!  But it takes time.

Oh....  Otto, welcome to the diner!  Sit and chat for a while.

My prayers to all!  have a good day.

Mr Dispatcher, sorry I for got to Welcome you to the dinner. Indy was my stomping grounds. I grew up on 116st and River Ave in Carmel. We lived on the banks of White River, good places to be a kid.

I am a little older than you, 55. Did you ever go to the hobby shop in Broadripple, think it was Ed Shocks.

Afternoon,

At w**k today. It is supposed to pour rain all day tomorrow. I did some rough measuring last night for my layout addition and I think instead  of a 4x4 it is going to have to be 4 x 5.5 or 4x6 to make it work and look decent. I'll do actual measurements this weekend.

I finished my roundhouse on Sunday. I am leaving off the roof until it is connected to the TT.

Otto- WelcomeWelcome.

Tom- Prayers for your wife doing well in her Ortho rehab. I also hope she is home for the holidays.

Ken- Thank you for your kind words about my layout. I know I am a rank amateur compared to most here.

Jeff- That is another great looking car.

Ray- I look forward to how you finish up that area of your layout.

I sent another email to Rob today. Everyone take care.

Jeff- That is another great looking car.

Thanks Curt. That's a good job you're doing on the roundhouse.

I was starting to wonder if my Frontier Chemicals tank car was going to show up. Tracking had it in Denver on the 13th then it was like it just ceased to exist. No word at all until this morning when I got a message that it was at the Leesville Post Office. So I should have it this afternoon by the latest.

Afternoon all, just stopping in for a short check-up on things.

Garry:  Thanks sir, I've got Rob's email address and shot him a line or two.  Oh yeah, you've also accepted my friend request, so now I've got two friends!

Well, that's about it for me, just got an address for going to do a job for someone, so I'd best get going (replacing a radiator in an 01 F150, shouldn't be too hard).

I'll be back in later and see what all is happening.  Tomorrow is a big day for us, as Amy has a doctor's appointment for the baby and hopefully we'll get to find out if we're having another girl, or a boy (as we both hope).

 Well afternoon folks.

Surprised I am still here? Well I am to some what! Whistling Called Dave at 1:15 PM. He was still in the Crestwood Store. Said he was leaving now and it would take about a hour to get to Fairview Heights store. Man must have a lot on his plate.

I think he told me he has 26 stores under his control, that is a lot of stores! Hum, he did say that his boss and him where going to talk about what to do with me? That might be a good thing. His boss knew me when I was a area supervisor and I was sent to other areas when there was a problem. So just maybe? Nah, visions of grandeur dancing in my head. I will be just fine as a store manager, middle management can be like having a target on your forehead anyway!

 See you all later.

I got my Frontier Chemicals tank car today. I was right about it being made by Roco. It's AHM/Roco - AHM stock #5276-F and was made in the 70's. It's in very good condition. Of course the very first thing I did was rip the coupler mounts off the trucks. The frame ends are far too thin to mount coupler boxes to so I'm gluing styrene strips in between the sides of the frame so I'LL have something to mount the boxes to. You can see in the photo what I've so far. Next I'll glue on the coupler boxes and install Kadee #119 shelf couplers.

Afternoon, Flo - how are the upgrades for the old Diner coming along? Any word from Zoe, Chloe or Vinnie on that? No? (Hmmph - about like trying to send a PM here lately...) I'll havea RBF please. Thank you!

Garry, regardless of the forum software, I'll be your friend if you'll be mine (offer stands for all y'all other Diners, too). Smile, Wink & Grin Must be growing pains for the forum software update. I keep having Firefox squawk at me that when I login, tells me that Kalmbach is trying to cross-send me (to the forum...Question). Feel like I'm beta-testing, almost. (Nope, still want to be in here, SysAdmins!) (Music"Coulja be, would you be my neighbor?" (or neighbour..)Whistling

Good reason to have other Diners emails, for times like these..

'Nuther sunny day in Cape G.-land, with showers moving in late tonight.

Ken, sounds like you may be making some progress on the w**k thing. Thumbs Up Keep pluggin' away there!

Todd - Amen, brother! (Well... you know what I mean, right? Wink)

Bill T., good to see your smiling face again. Missed you over the weekend (as also most everybody else I didn't get to see).

Curt, best wishes with the lawyers the next couple of days. Sigh And I'd agree with you - some of these Diners, it's almost like I've been watching them build their layout (for free!). Smile

Tom, yes it is an adjustment with your wife moving to a nursing home (even when it's a transitional thing). I recall several years ago when my Grandma T. had to be moved into a home (longer term) - it was tough for us, but probably tougher yet for her to adjust. My Dad never had to move to any nursing home, which I suspect would've almost killed him. He was used to taking care of the family, taking care of my Mom when me & my brother had moved out, and taking care of himself. One of those adjustments. AngelAngel for you and your wife, and for good (and quick) progress until she can get back home again.

Sue, I think (maybe) you had asked something about those logging cabins I had posted pics of a bit ago(?). In looking through my MRR reference binders, I saw a photo that looked identical to them, from the Pine Canyon Scale Models site. However, several months ago, their site said they were no longer making any HO structures...Ashamed

Curt, I think Sue is right - you are a roundhouse-building madman! Bow I am very impressed at how quickly you have progressed on your roundhouse! Yeah Which roundhouse is that (or combination of RH's)?

Jeff, looks like another job for the Sundown shops (the chassis guys, at least - or will you be re-doing the paint job on the new tanker?

I'll be at the RC for a bit, taking care of my RBF. Dinner

Blessings and prayers,

Jim in Cape G.
