USRA 2-6-6-2 at the head of a long line of coal cars...

I would vote to keep the rules just as they are.  I think you need to have enough time for a number of people to be able to see the post to have somebody respond.  I for one don't just sit here all day waiting for something I can share.......  I also think we need to keep it very generic!  I am amazed at times how different some folks answer is to what I imagined and that is all part of the fun.

So, show me a coaling tower.

Let's try to get through September and then, maybe... with the October edition we might go to a 30 minute time limit, and maybe... maybe you can get as specific as you like, since it's going to die in 30 minutes anyway.  But, it's probably a bad idea on the specific part.  I can just see it now... no pictures are posted (well, maybe one now and then) because everyone is requesting a 3 loco lashup of the Denver and Rio Grande or the bathroom facilities in a train station.  It would be all requests and no replies.

Still looking for something with 6 wheels!

Guys, I hate to change the time rule in the middle of the tracks..  Big Smile since everyone is use to it.

But, I'm not against doing it.

As I've said ad nuaseam if the requests are kept as simple as possible the thread will move along.  Even I had one trainmaster but not two in a lashup.

Ad nauseam is a Latin term used to describe an argument which has been continuing "to [the point of] nausea".[1] For example, the sentence, "This topic has been discussed ad nauseam", signifies that the topic in question has been discussed extensively, and that those involved in the discussion have grown tired of it.

And yes, I know everyone is tired of me saying it but I don't know what else to do.   Smile

The last request is for something with 6 wheels!

SW 8 / 900 / 600 according to the box, any you want it to be.

1 hour rule may work a little better. All so a little less specific, but that might take the fun out some what.

Show me something with 6 wheels.

I was thinking the time needs to be shortened to 1 hour, to keep it moving.

Though as it is for fun, any length of time will do.Confused

Clouds - Have I been working on clouds. This is the best pic, so far, but looks lousy in real life.  I don't know what I am going to do with the panel, it does not work on the layout. Howmus, great idea on the tortise. You may have solved a problem I have.

Not exactly abandoned, in disrepair, but kind of a washout:

If it doesn't qualify, someone please post another "abandoned track in a state of disrepair as in a washout".

If it does qualify, then show me an Alco loco (preferably a switcher)

How about an abandoned track in a state of disrepair as in a washout.

Something I invented....  I am sure some others have done this, but I have never seen it before i figured it out.  I often time use old code 100 rail to create a remote turnout throw using a tortoise.

here it is on the workbench:

Here it is under the layout with home made linkage I invented:

Show me spline roadbed.

Although we all like train shows please try to request things from our personal or our clubs layout.

I'm not sure if a train show is a 'prototype' shot or not...  Surprise

Art, I think you're ok on this one since it is your groups table being shown.

I think this one is interesting.......  A photo of the finished scratch built trackwork for my Civil Engineer Certificate.  Turnouts were made using Fast Tracks Jigs, all track was hand laid, ballasted, and at proper height ie: the siding was a prototypical 6" below the height of the mainline).  Most ties were hand cut to length from Kapler tie stock.  Turnouts are controlled with levers from Humpyard Purveyance.

Show me a crossing (not a road at grade crossing, but a track crossing).

Some trucks and tractors.

It is looking a bit like fall out my window right now, so how about leaves on the ground by the tracks.
