Great start for the thread, good work guys.   I finished scenery  on another section of my layout, which I call The Loops, this week.   Here are a couple of broader view photos to show the overall look

This is a shot of my "Car Topper" & in this case it is a Kibri JCB C4X kit on an ExactRail gondola.. I added 'cleats' to the JCB to make it a 'Car Topper' & painted the JCB unit, although, I'm not 100% happy with the paintjob..

The JCB Backhoe is a just a little small for this project (but - what I had on-hand), I did not have a MotorArt Volvo, or a GHQ JD to test with.. I posted a few trial shots a couple weeks ago & finally found the lil' JCB kit that was '404' on my initial search..  I knew the kit was moulded in the wrong colors, (it was a 'special edition' moulded in dark green) so, I painted it in a mix of a CAT-like yellow...  From a distance it looks fairly good, but up close there are tone differences & it is not so pretty good. Reason being, I airbrushed everything on the sprue, as I knew that I could not do any painting on it as an assembled unit. This led to mis-matched tones & coverages, but in the end, it is not  all 'THAT' bad, so it will fly..  If it was one of the Yellow ones, it may have looked really sharp..  I guess the pictures tell it best..
The Exact Rail Gondola was an SP unit, that I patched to IC&E.  'Eagle Eyes' may notice something, (thinking cleverly), I used an old sheet of Numberboard decals as my patch backrounds. I added dry transfers & trimmed (the end [small] sets), & applied them to the unit. I also attempted some fine airbrushing over the SP logo plate, attempting to replicate someone with a paint can, haphazardily blanking out the 'Southern Pacific' lettering on the plate. I think instinct took over & I pulled away the airbrush, fading & blending everything more evenly than intended. I also added appropriate details, like airlines & cut bars to the gondola..
Here is a Link to the real "Herzog Car Topper"  for your enjoyment!

I am starting to learn how to take photos with natural backgrounds (diorama set up in a field overlooking the Beaufort Range).  If you look closely, you can see the horizon on the diorama just above the pilot beam, about where the far air pump fairing's bottom edge is.
