It would be more interesting if you had a big boy hauling double stacks.

It used to be that if you were a fan of either Espee or Rio Grande, then Santa Fe was the Bad Boy. Or if you said you liked BOTH NYC and PRR, you were ready for the farm. Or okay, GN got you west to Seattle the fastest, but NP and MILW had the better scenery. Bashing was a lot more fun when we had more railroads to choose from. I just with UP would make up their minds what to do with their former SP and WP mains here in Northern California, is all. And sorry folks, but #3985 just looks out of place struggling over Donner Pass when they bring it out here for Railfair. But let's face it, if UP goes the way some of the bashers want, I'm going to have to travel a bit to watch trains.

Barf is a slang term for vomit. Another slang term for the same thing is "ralph." A phrase which also means the same thing is "praying at the porcelain altar."

NYC / PENN, etc.
CB&Q GN / NP/ AT&SF
UP / SP / D&RG / WP

ALL Merged primarily to stave off competition from the Truckng Industry

That is a cool photo lupo; what's up with the steam engine on a stack train? I thought CN was the only railroad that had motive power shortage.

The photo shows 3985 MEETING a stack train, not pulling it (since when did 4-6-6-4's run without a tender?).

Ouch! (thats below the belt) The Nazi Southern thing is true though. I'll let you know WHEN I think of something for BNSF!

I'm taking all the UP bashing in good humor, and dishing out BNSF bashes in good humor, too.[:D] Really if you think about it the railroads kind of need each other, if only one survived their prices would be higher, and trucks would take over completely.[:(!]

Oh yeah, I'd take a C44-9W over an SD70M anyday, BNSF also has better paint schemes than UP.

Yeah UP, NS , Conrail, CSX , SP, Southern, N & W, they all suck. BNSF and Alaska are the only decent class ones left. but I would not model any of them ( well, maybe BNSF if I ran out of choices ) bring on the regionals baby !!!!! Farmrail, AOK , AT&L, and the Wataco railroads are some of the coolest around. O' I forgot about KCS. I would model them if I had more space !

And I'd take an SD40-2 over both of those, in original BN paint. They ain't hard to find, either.

Hey that's my "home road" you're talking about! KCS is the coolest class 1 around with the exception of BNSF! (BNSF is also a hometown road to me, albeit by trackage rights..)

I finally came up with a nick-name for BNSF and it wasn't easy. I did every class1 railroad except BNSF ( I bash my own railroad too cause it is fun CSX). Please don't take offence, every railroad should have a bashing nick-name. BNSF-big noice small feature. Here is some more:CN-constantly neglegent (refering to amout of accidents they have had). UP-under powered (refering to an order for 1000 SD70M all at once), CSX-chicken ...... express (pretty obvious what..... stands for), CP-constantly procrastinating (they take there time unless they are expressway intermodals), NS has been done, KCS-known cash struggle ( not mine). Any body else have some funny nick-names?

I don't see why KCS needs a bashing name. They've never done anything controversial enough to get bashed.

UP does run it's 3985 in ocasional freight service, when they need to move the locomotive or traffic warrents. Same with their DD40X and 844.
