Hello Fellow Denverite,
Seeing as I model 1:24 scale, if I were to run a realistic-length coal train like the BNSF ones we see running all around town here, my train would be about 180 feet long........not happenin'
unless I win the lottery, which could be any day now, especially if I were to buy a ticket
oops! I got so wrapped up in dreams of winning the lottery I forgot my point: my point is, I think a better question would be as follows:
How long does a model railroad coal train need to be to simulate the feel or give the impression of a real coal train?
The St. Francis Consolidated Railroad of the Colorado Rockies
Denver, Colorado
Generally a pair of SD70MAC's and 24 Bethgons or similar cars. Train size is determined by length of passing sidings.
