I don't have my layout setup currently so I am unable to contribute either photos or videos in WPF but I do make a point of checking out everyone's contributions every week and enjoy seeing what others are up to. If you want my vote, I say go ahead and give it a try. You'll never know how successful it might be if you don't try. Its not like it costs anything to implement. If it doesn't pan out we can just discontinue having a seperate thread and go back to combined stills and videos in WPF.

If Wilbur and Orville didn't give it a try, they'd of never got off the ground!!!

Ken, yes it is BLI, but the "Stealth" version introduced in early 2006 with no decoder....straight DC.  I had a Tsunami "heavy" put in it.   I agree, it sounds good.  I haven't had much success getting rid of the rod clank when it is running.  There's a CV for that, but I didn't notice any change when I programmed it with different values.

True, it may be that initially the volume of submissions might be much lower than what we currently see in the way of stills in WPF, but ya gotta start somewhere.  We have two already, and I am sure there will be a couple more.  There's a video contest on another forum, and there is usually lots of cross-transfer in membership...so I'm hopeful.

I appreciate all the feedback. Smile  BTW, I have nothing invested in this...it's not personal, so if the consensus is to not do this, we won't do it.

K.I.S.S.

Leave it as one WPF, I like the mix of stills, videos and comments. Smile

Blue, your Y 6b is smoking it decoder! Big Smile Never mind, you have the Paragon II version.

Crandell, is that a BLI Class J? Mine did not sound that good so I sold it.

Not a bad idea, but I all so wonder how many videos we would get.

Choose "Select programs to install" and choose Moviemaker, I wouldn't install that other junk MHO.

A little off topic but relative, can anyone recommend a good freeware or cheap video editing software program?  I had MS movie maker on the old computer but the new one doesn't have it and I can't seem to DL to from MS anymore.

TIA

Maybe, but I would just as well let people keep posting their video in WPF, at least until the volume of videos consistently warrant a separate thread each week.  I don't think we're there yet.  BTW, nice video of your layout Crandell.

How would you feel about a Weekly Video Fun thread?   The initiation, procedure, and participation would be much like WPF, except it could last from Friday early to the following Thursday late, at which the mods will lock it.

I see that they have become popular in WPF, so common in the past few weeks that I think we should seriously consider having them in their own special weekly thread.  WPF can remain for stills, and for those who enjoy video a bit more or as much................Big Smile

In the spirit of the idea, I'll post a link to my latest:  Speakers on and volume set for "steam!"
