Good Morning,
Welcome back Trainmaster!
Galaxy, good to hear you came out alright. I would heal up and have a word with the doctor about the pain during the procedure.
I haven’t seen RT in a while…
Dorothy has to have a couple of gall stones removed, the ultrasound came back yesterday. Doc said 3-4 day recovery time. Don’t know when we will have the operation done, but they better put her all the way out.
Tonight I’m hosting an layout open house…

"Rust, whats not to love?"
Ulrich: PM coming your way. Gary
Good Morning! Just coffee please and thanks.
Today:Scattered flurries before noon. Cloudy, with a high near 24. Northwest wind around 6 mph. Tonight: Snow. Low around 19. North northwest wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.
As you can see I should get my OSB and foam soon or ….., I guess it’s not a big deal. I’d like to get it though and then I can lay some track as far as I haveroadbed for at least.
Not much planned for today, just some odds and ends. I still have the W-2’s for the Church and to pay the taxes. Payroll taxes that is. The State of Illinoyz still allows Church’s to be tax exempt. So far. Then a Trustees meeting at the Church tonight. I’ll have to drive halfway across town in the potential snow storm they call for. (4 blocks if you don't count the park. 5 if you do.)
Maybe I will find my way to Menard’s after all. That will at least give me the supplies I need to work on the layout in my spare time. Seems, though, whenever I have the stuff, I don’t have the time. And when I have the time, I don’t have the stuff.

Good morning. It's 45° and cloudy. The high will be around 60° with partial sunshine. I'm still working on the work caboose today. The wood sides I attached to the stakes are so thin that light shows through them. However that won't be an issue once they are painted. The entire car with the exception of the trucks and wheel sets will be painted MoW gray and marked for the L&A. I'm hoping to get that done sometime today. Tomorrow morning I have an appointment with the foot doc. He'll likely want to take X-rays so he can see how big a train wreck my ankle and foot have become. I can hardly move either one. I can move my toes a little but I can't flex my foot nor can I turn move my ankle. It seems like it's all locked together which is no real surprise to me. A good X-ray will tell all. No real plans for today except to move around as little as possible.

Flo, Diet Dew and a Muffin please.
Sitting here trying to decide if it worth the effort to go talk to the idiots at unemployment today? Guess I should, but I am 99.9% sure there going to make me wait till the 31st.
Found another Duck.
Need to get shocks today, the Town Car is ridding like the above duck.

Good Afternoon,
are we into a "spot the duck" contest? Here is my today´s share:
I started working on the modular layout concept. It is pretty basic, but simple to build. No need of deep-down woodworking knowledge, no need for precise alignments. I might change a few things, though. What I especially like about it, is the fact, that you don´t need a fixed layout plan. It just develops along the way. Makes things a lot easier for me, as I don´t have to layout a big lump sum before I can start. We will see...
My loco should be somewhere between Tokyo and Hamburg, but when I try to track the shipment, it just says "Dispatch from outward office of exchange" at Tokyo Metropolis - whatever that means
Janie, coffee in a JNR mug, and a slice of that cherry crumple pie, thank you, dear.
I hope you are all having a good time!
Good Morning All!Not much to report from the land of Buckeyes other then its snowing..We suppose to get 1-3 inches...I have plans on going to the hobby shop Saturday but,I may cancel if the weather gets nasty.Nothing new modeling wise other then adding KDs to 3 Athearn RTR cars..I'm actually getting some HO projects done...As a interesting note I used a damp flat tip paint brush to remove dust from the 100 & 150 and I like the results..I may be nuts but,I'm going to add mu hoses to the 100.I shall have a cup and look over the forum.Have a good'un!

I wondered what had happened to Duck Dick... Talk about getting all your ducks in a row and just in time to get your goose cooked. My my my.
Sorry Dick I don't table dance no more as it doesn't pay enough and the insurance rates jumped! Kinda what hapens when they have to surgically remove a pole from ones anatomy!
Anyway it's not been a good week on the MR as the Russian Decapod is being perverse and still shorting out. I have a few ideas that I may work on tonight to straighten it out, one that includes a hammer but no sickle... What? it's a sickle joke!
The way I'm going I suspect I will having to add staging tracks as the rails are full and I only have 1/3 of my rolling stock out of the box.
Howard how about some of that apple pie please..
Lee: Hope you canh share more pics of the layout as it's been awhile since I last saw them.
DerJohn: Glad you got my e-mail. They are definite winners. Have you been to Georges lately?
Anyway back to the grind

Mornin' everyone!
Zoe I'll have a breakfast Bagel w/ cheese and a cup of dark roast coffee.
Slept in again this morning. Didn't even wake up until 10:30..... Must have needed the rest. Still haven't heard back from all the school buildings for correct spelling of the students names.... Guess i will be contacting the ones who haven't gotten back to me. I would like to get all the 1st. place entries over to the Newspaper today. Then I can scan and photograph the others, go through the photos from the Memorial March and Service and them up on line.... THAT should take care of today!
Sir Madog Good Afternoon, are we into a "spot the duck" contest? Here is my today´s share:
Well, personally, I'd rather play this! Remember...... It is as bad as you think, and they are out to get you!
Currently 25°F and Partly Cloudy here in the Finger Lakes. May get an inch or so of Partly Cloudy later today. And as Barry would say, "Dull, dull, dull....."
Best get moving so i can be officially ready for the day prior to Noon...

Me again.
Played a little with that modular system and designed the first modules.
These can be assembled into something like this:
I start to like it! Building a module involves only a handful of $$$ - that´s much to my taste!
Coffee in a Santa Fe mug, please.
***Ulrich, I like that whole modular approach.
***Jeffrey, that is a substantial work caboose. Should comfortably fit the crew.
Have a great day, y'all.
Rob
Fergmiester Anyway it's not been a good week on the MR as the Russian Decapod is being perverse and still shorting out. I have a few ideas that I may work on tonight to straighten it out, one that includes a hammer but no sickle... What? it's a sickle joke!
Hey Fergie!
I had a shorting problem with my Bachmann Decapod as well. Started on the very day I was having the SLOW Certified for the Golden Spike NMRA Award... At the time I have to demonstrate how everything runs, It started up ran half way around the layout and quit! Nothing seemed to get it moving again. I was panicky. Finally took her off the layout and brought in a different loco..... Everything was back up and running. Turned out the flat wiring that connects the electrical contacts from the drive wheels to the Decoder had bent upward just enough to cause a dead short. I took it apart and tried to correct it with some insulation, but it made matters worse. Contacted Bachmann and the tech said, Yep, there is a problem with them. The early ones had wiring that was slightly out of specs and caused the short. He was going to mail me a new style replacement for it.... That was 4 years ago, I'm still waiting. I reworked it myself and got it running fairly well. Let it set for a few months, started her up, and had a smoking loco.... She has been retired until I get around to get the other wiring and a new decoder for her.
If you haven't already, contact Bachmann and they will probably send you a new wiring harness for it if that is the problem.
Here's a quick project. Remove the toylike wheels and axles from a Johnny Lightning bus and replace them with the wheels and axles from a Boley GMC truck and this is what you end up with.
Cederstrand Coffee in a Santa Fe mug, please. ***Ulrich, I like that whole modular approach. ***Jeffrey, that is a substantial work caboose. Should comfortably fit the crew. Have a great day, y'all. Rob
Rob - it is more like playing with dominoes
A single track module is less than $ 10. OK, the switch modules are a little more expensive, but it´ll work with me.
Afternoon all. I'll take a bowl of seafood gumbo, couple of pieces of cornbread, and a sweet tea. I'll take a seat at the RC and enjoy the time. Nothing much going on today as its still damp outside. Might do a little more painting on the two locomotives. Thinking about doing some painting on some rolling stock too, might even try a little weathering of them once I get some paint down. Will post pictures as they come along. Also have to go by the church today and get lesson plans ready for the next couple of weeks for the kids church workers. Other than that I think I'm going to just enjoy my day off from w*rk.
Jeff I really like the caboose, and I like the bus. I do have a question which I know has been asked before, but how big is your layout?
Ulrich the modular approach looks like it'll work great, and give you some interesting track alignments to play with also. Good luck with it.
Welp, guess I'll enjoy my food before I have to get going.
Later taters!
BamaCSX83 Jeff I really like the caboose, and I like the bus. I do have a question which I know has been asked before, but how big is your layout?
Awesome sir, thanks. I've always liked the shots from it, just never really got an idea of how big it was until now.
I just received this awesome video from the Toowoomba flash flood on Jan. 10th.
The power of water - or how to empty a parking lot
Just wow on that video, and I agree with Jeff, how exaclty do you explain that one? "well, the car was parked and well, you see!"
still haven't made it to the church as both girls have decided that its nap time, so I'm probably about to join in on their napping.
Barry was right. The foam from Menard's is.......pink.
Now, do what I should be doing, or, finish the benchwork.
Would have been a good time to play "Will It Float".
Just got back from the Unemployment offices, talk about just plain dumb luck!
I sat there for about 2 hours when they finally called my number. I had just sat down and started to talk with the Zombie when another lady stepped out ad called my name? Reason that as odd is the Zombie had not enter my mane in the computer yet!
Spoke up and she took me back to her offices. It seems the computer printed the 17th on the letter but it should have been today the 19th. She had called my house two times and we did not answer because we where sitting there in there offices!
She took a chances and and called my name there and there I was! Hope we got the paper work taken care off. They still have no been able to get hold of any one at Ashely that knows my name and that I worked there. Plus no one knows who Matt Phillips is, is he in hiding?
Getting ready to play "Will It Start" with the Dodge Daytona. Need to get some more anti freeze in it and I hope the battery takes a charge. I guess the days off $40.00 batteries are over.
See you later
Ken, the only way I know of you being able to get a $40 battery will be either a used one, or a "blem" battery.
BamaCSX83Ken, the only way I know of you being able to get a $40 battery will be either a used one, or a "blem" battery.
I be happy with a Blem, now where do you buy them?
Daytona did fire up, was dropping a hole for about two minutes then started hitting on all 4. Could smell varnish from the gas going bad but not that bad. Got up to temp and letting it set for about 15 minutes and will check the fluids. Still have it on a 10 amp charge and the battery seems to be taking it.
All so have a newer battery from the 68 Road Runner, but it been sitting idle for a few years. Wrong case sizes but might fit and it's a 700 amp battery. When the 426 is hot, takes a lot of amps to get her fired up.
Time to go check, crossing my fingers the battery has taken a charge.
Last of the Daytona up dates for today. Pulled the battery charger and she cranked right up. Thursday morning if it still has a charge I may have caught a break.
Time for Test Drive 6.
Ken: Having a good time firing up the beasties? .....
Todd: Now how did I know that they would have it in Pink...mmmmmm
I'm having a little Spring on my lap...it is now cuddle time for him....
