Models we really need in HO

What we really need is an HO SDP45.SP used these on many trains in thier last years,and no model is available,at least in plastic.

RSD 15 its out check BLI web along with this they have the SW &NW2 Been out for over a year.They are also doing 2 Big UP steamers.
C420 MRC made one afew years back check eBay they show-up alot on there, along with Walthers SW1.

2-10-0 Bachman had one for years, they are also doing a 2-10-2 should be out soon.
BLI SW7 is so so I have one it stalls on almost every #6 switch. If it stalls it sounds like a record with a bad skip. MR was alittle to good to BLI with their review on this one, I have heard of alot of problems with this engine, not just mind.

A southern transfer caboose or any transfer cab for that matter,not the $45.00 dollar range ones we see today. Also it would be nice to see a tie crane that ride's atop a MOW gondola.by custom finnishes.Add this one to the list to, a un -retired walthers coal flood loader 933-3051. I could go on and on but I must go play with my trains LOL.

High quality centerbeam flats both open and opera. McKean models had good base model to start with (a lot of work and poor quality mold). The Walthers centerbeam doesn't come close either. I would like to see P2K produce these in ready to runs as well as kit form. I have never had any problems with any Proto rolling stock, I beleive them to be some of the most economical and best running pieces yet.

Affordable injection molded HO catenary - how expensive would it be to tool up for just the basics, and leave it up to the modeler to kitbash any unique pieces they'd need ? Also, there's no real need to have live overhead wiring esp/ w/ modern DCC controls. All we'd need is some overhead that looked 'real' and would be durable enough to take a hand bumping against it when re-railing a car, uncoupling, or doing some cleaning or maintainence of the surrounding track or scenery. How about a stretch-type of very thin material that would give and take a bit when accidently bumped into? Or make the catenary out of a semi-flexible material and/or a flexible mounting system to the table work, so the entire deal - at least in a localized area - would bend out of the way when bumped into?

I'd also like to see the following in HO(and before I complete my kitbashes and upgrades) -
Baldwin Shark A&B units - Proto 1K or 2K, Spectrum, or Atlas?
Little River 2-4-4-2 (Proto 2K or Spectrum)
USRA Light 4-6-2 that could be modified to specific RR prototypes -Proto 2K or Spectrum / not BLI - want to be able to afford more than one !
N&W steam - smaller stuff please - Spectrum or Proto 2K (probably wishful thinking)
L&N cabooses - injection molded or affordable resin conversion kits
Southern cabooses - ditto above
steam/diesel era freightequipment lettered for L&N & NC&StL - Proto 2K please !
USRA 55 ton hoppers lettered for L&N (late '40s-early'50s era schemes)
inexpensive and accurate '40s/ '50s model cars & trucks (no interiors needed)
'20-'30s era 'Craftsman' residential bungalows (similar to new Atlas kits) *1
'20-'30s era 'Four-square' style two story residences (smaller version of old Spectrum kit) *2

* 1&*2 - possibly done in modular wall / doors / windows, front porch, roof sections, chimneys, foundations, fashion not unlike DPM approach to industrial / commercial bldgs. (Modeler furnishes all the unique details as needed.) Heck, if there's sufficient interest in this, I'll do them in resin and offer them for sale !!??

I agree with the more E units at reasonable prices. BLI has them but $200 to $400 is a little much. I would love to have a few UP E's . There are not enough Proto 2000's to go around and the Rivarossi's look cheap. There are just certain models that are not avaiable.

Eastern Car Works has a NE caboose and I believe MDC came out with one. I agree - would love to see the Stewart RS3's out again - the ones with the Athearn drives - affordable, good running and good looking.

I would also like to see re-runs of some previous Atlas and Stewart diesels, ESPECIALLY the RS-3.

A Reading FREIGHT Trainmaster would be nice -the announced Atlas models are both passenger versions.

Looking at the success of the LifeLike Proto NYC subways makes me think that if they would do some commuter stuff it would sell. How about the PRR MP54's (they ran from I think the 40's into the 80's under PRR/LIRR/PC/SEPTA colors)? Some of the more modern communter equipment I think would also be popular. Those with larger layouts could run 6 or 7 unit trains and those with smaller layouts could run 2 or 3 unit trains - all prototypical!

Would also like to see Proto do a PCC trolley. They ran in nearly every city in the U.S. at one time or another. I've never really been impressed by the Bachmann model and although Bowser makes a PCC, I can never seem to find one. (BTW: why aren't Bowser models more widely distributed? - Bowser seems to be a relatively cheaper way for Pennsy modelers to get a decent size fleet of steamers as compared to BLI - and I think building kits are fun!).

Would also like to see a relatively inexpensive model of the fishbowl bus. Again, I think they would sell well as they were found in nearly every American city for a couple of decades.

A Baldwin Centipede - Granted they might not sell as many as Baldwin did, but they are unique.
Second on the Little River 2-4-4-2. It's just the ideal 'big' engine for a small logging road.

I feel that a good quality plastic MP15AC is needed. An Athearn style kit would be nice, except now they don't make kits. They make RTR, chinese models, which are great for some people, but some of us like to actually put this stuff together, and you usually get a much better result, than some chinaman in a sweatshop....

things liek little joes would certainly seem more attractive to train companies if they knew people would buy them, and most people will want catenary before they buy electrics

Bo and Aggro: Just got back on this forum, but oboy, do I agree with you on the Missabe 2-8-8-4's. Just about the most beautiful--and certainly the most powerful--Yellowstones that God and Baldwin ever created. I'd like one with the huge--HUGE--Elesco FWH system. I've got two old Akanes (that run beautifully) but they're Worthington, though I replaced one with a Cal-Scale Elesco (not near as big, by the way). That and ANY Espee AC cab-forward from AC6--my favorite--on, would be just like hog heaven. I'd cash in my insurance policy and get an entire fleet!
