Wow, I haven't started WPF off in years.  Big Smile

A long (Columbus Day) in the US weekend this time.  Let's see what you've been up to lately.

Here are some of the cars I just recently finished!

Here is an Atlas 60' Single Door Box painted for the Missouri Pacific and lettered with Oddballs Decals.

For a little color, a Details West Double Plug Door RBL, Evans Demonstrator, lettered with Herald King Decals.

A Front Range 50' Double Door ACF Boxcar, lettered with Champ Decals.

Thanks for Looking!  Smile

Rule 1: This is my railroad.

Rule 2: I make the rules.

Rule 3: Illuminating discussion of prototype history, equipment and operating practices is always welcome, but in the event of visitor-perceived anacronisms, detail descrepancies or operating errors, consult RULE 1!

Nice start guys!

It has been a while since I thew anything up on the wpf but here is one of my latest projects.

A riv berkshire that I got few months back from my parents after they visited an estate sale.  This is my fist weathering of a stem engine using all airbrush methods and a few brushed on spots here and there for rusted valves and stuff.  It has also had the old motor taken out and after some extensive weight grinding I managed to get a new can motor in it.  Runs smooth and quiet and there is a ton of room in the tender for electronics.

Also built these over the summer.

Heljan turntable I got from driline earlier in the year.  Repainted it and seniced the floor of the pit

Not done with the store yet.  I am in the process of adding floors and interiors to it.  Got busy with yard work so it has been postponed until winter.

To those that have never posted on WPF, please do.  I'm sure that there are some "lurkers" out there that are unsure if their work will be accepted.

I can assure you, it will.  Please post your pics.  Not that I don't enjoy seeing the regular's pics, but I would love to see some new ones as well.  And I'm sure I'm not alone.

This thread is one for sharing and is by no means a competition.  Post 'em if you got 'em.

Thanks, MM

It's been forever since I've had anything to contribute to WPF! All the work so far looks great as usual!

Here's some photos from a recent photo shoot on the WRS, prompted by the arrival of new power. 1500 and 1501 are both EMD GP15-1 units. Like the rest of the fleet, they were painted by Alex / GuilfordGuy.

That looks like the old Revell engine house, now produced by Heljan I think.

It was my first kitbash back in the 1960s. My Athearn Pacific would not fit so I sawed off the end wall and glued on another engine house. I still have it - did some restoration on it 10 or 15 years ago, and am looking for a home for it on my new layout. Smile

I was referring to the photo of the steam loco with coal cars crossing the bridge.  Both the photo and the model scene are visually stunning. Can't take my eyes off it.

Mr. Mikado, if you mean the image of the steamer crossing the trestle, thank-you!  I am happy to have provided some pleasure here today. Smile

Margaritaman, I really like your image with the signal and the bridge.  Solid and convincing modeling, and a very pleasing image.

Nice work here as always.  Margaritaman - love your pic.  Well, I've been out-of-country for a couple of months so the only pics I can contribute are from the archives - I don't think I've posted these before.  In fact, I haven't posted since the re-vamped site came online so I hope I'm attaching the images correctly. To be honest, thanks to travel and other things I've been neglecting my trains for a while now.  But I'm starting to "feel it" again, and hope to make some new purchases this weekend.  Happy Columbus Day to the folks in the US, and Happy Thanksgiving to the folks in Canada.  Cheers.

I thought you might like to see a picture of my Atlas mp-15, taken on my layout, and the prototype in just about the same relative position..

BTW... the quality of the modeling and the pictures in this thread get better and better.  Really something to see!

Batman,

Incredible modeling and detail work on those "Goldens". Show us some more of them. I lost my Golden a few years back, it sure is nice to see these!

It is actually an IHC kit I believe.  Turned out pretty good with not to much stuff to have to really work at to fit right.

Just finished this coaling tower yesterday. It was a Bachmann kit but I added the Tichy coal chute and other details.

Friends of ours bought me some WS golden retrievers for the layout so there is no escaping them at this house, not even in the train room.Laugh

RRCanuck, I am amazed at the lighting in your first image.  Spot on, and it does magic for the interior of your nice structure.

Farrellaa, nice work on the coal tower. I like the Tichy chute!   I have the same kit on my layout, except I'm pretty sure it came under the Life Like moniker.  I had to struggle with the stairs...they didn't seem to fit as per the instructions, but they finally went on okay.

Jarrell, a beautiful crisp shot, as always.

It's all the same kit, those dies have been around. I think my kitbash into a factory has bits of all three.

Tom, love the rocks by the spoon yard, where they made from castings?

Doing something different this WFP, I am showing part of the bad part of the layout. Little back ground  on this section for people that do not know my history. Layout started as a HO Slot Car Track, was pretty good sizes, U shaped and is 4 foot wide and 19 foot long, and the ends where 4 foot wide by 4 foot. Thing to do with slot cars was to use indoor / outdoor carpet. Not the thing to do with trains if you want to make it look realistic, much like the green grass mat's.

Anyhow, I am very slowly ripping the carpet up. This section is the new passenger station passing spur I am working on. This spur is on my A Line. When the spur is in use, I can park a 15 foot long train on the main and run the passenger train. Station spur will hold a 13 foot long train when I want to run freight.

I must say these photos are not that good, sorry! Light coming through the garage door windows did not help at all.

First is a string of hoppers sitting on the main line.

Next I tried to be artistic (shows me not to think) and used a slower shutter speed showing a high speed pass of the passenger train.

Passenger Cars are Con Cor Santa Fe Valley Fliers.

There will be a two lane highway going pass the passenger station, rough mock up of the road.

Road is made from Fun Foam, see the roads posting on the main page. With some advices from Rich, I am sure it will look great when done! Big Smile While not true HO scale, I uses Hot Wheels and Johnny Lighting cars.

For the heck of it, picture from the better section.

Hope I did not make anyone sick!
