Hi Gang: It's been quite awhile since I've been in and had anything to say.

The ranch has been keeping me very busy this year. We have more hay then I can ever remember. The thing is it takes time to cut and bale and then haul. Thank God we have that new tractor. Speaking of that the last payment went in this month. No that doesn't mean more money for trains.

I did pick up my Fox Valley Hiawatha set yesterday. It does look outstanding. I've been waiting for the Class A Atlantic for 60+ years. I'll be 68 on 13 November. It's been along wait for sure. I see from the postings in the forums that there are jproblems with the set but I don't care. I am still thinking about getting another. You can't have just one you know.

Well, it's about time to go get the cattle out of the pasture. No rest for the wicked.

TAke care all.

 Evening Folks

Flo, if Kyle comes in here and said I told him your day Old Coffee will Strip paint off a Athearn shell, I was just kidding around.

Well I pretty much blew off the Kitchen Today.

Worked on the trains before Jim came over. Got the RSD 15 up and running again. Read the CV's of a E-6 B so I can speed match it to my E-7 A and cleaned some wheels. While I was cleaning the wheels on a Athearn SD 50 that I MU with a Dash 9 I saw smoke rolling out from the vents. (looked pretty cool I will add)Big Smile Was not to worried about it, last time I oiled the engine I got some oil on the brushes and they will smoke if ran hard while cleaning the wheels.

Gave it a short test run and all was fine. Lashed it back up the the Dash 9 and started to back them back up to there train.  SD 50 was dead! Great I smoked a $30.00 NCE decoder I cannot replaces. Grumpy While I had Decoder Pro up and running I put the SD 50 on the programing track and rewrote it CV's. Lo and behold, it is running again! Smile, Wink & Grin Have no idea what happen, but looks like I did not let the smoke out of the decoder!

Train Guest  Why is it ever time a guest comes over, nothing seems to work right? Whistling Jim came over and I had had more derailments and shorts in a hour and a half than I have in a month? Even my rock steady PCM Y6-b gave me grief? I was showing him how slow the Y6-b can craw around the layout. It shorted out on a turnout for no reason, all the wheels where on the track? It not like I just installed the turnout, been there for a month now?

Gave Jim a few tips about feeders, soldering, bus wire, and grades. He is building his first layout and it will be a big one. U shaped that will be 21 X 15 foot with 3% grades. I think the grades are going to a mistake, but will see. One thing he has going for him is his hobby is wood working.

All so got my motors from Jay today, I got 6 with with flywheels, 2 with out and some extra parts! Now I just have to get the flywheels off, of course none of them match my engines that need motors. Next is test there stall amps, and see if they will work with decoders.

 See you all Friday.

Last mountain, tanks for the tip on the Range Hood.

Range Hood What I am worried about if there is no plug in and at this point pretty sure there is not one. Is getting the wires hooked back up, while trying to hold the hood up.

                  Ken

Whistling

Ken,   as a rule there is extra wire behind the hood. Either so you can extend it out of the wall or sometimes just tucked in behind the hood. If you get a foot stool or the like and set it on your range, the hood should be able to sit on it while you disconnect and reconnect it.  Putting it back up can be a challenge if you don't have a second set of hands, BUT, it can be done, I did it.   Make sure you have a magnetic screw driver and better if it is a small powered screw driver.  You can get the hood in place by locating where the original holes for the screws were and then just support it with one hand or a small jack off of the stool (peviously mentioned) while you get a couple of the screws started.   Worked for me..........................

Ray- Glad you got some of those switch machines. I’ve been eyeballing them in the Walthers flyers. Now I see them. They look real good. Now that I do see them in relation to something I can identify as to size, I see they really will not fit my setup……..unleeeeeess I make little horizontalish panels at the turnouts …..hmmmmm. Anyway, they appear to be a bit prone to breaking off if accidentally attacked from the side, if you know what I meanWhistling. Are they?

Morgan- How about “Flash to Bang” snack car. I’ll let you use your imagination as to what that means. If you’ve ever eaten a burrito off of a “gut wagon” you’ll know.Mischief

Oh, the possibilities. I've giben thought to marlketing a "restroom car" sinc so many places don't have them or the funds to convert the old style toilets (read: pipe going strait to the ties) to the railroad equivalent to an RV tank... Flash and Bang  could be an interesting pair of cars to run. I'll keep that in mind.

Those Humpyard's do look nice. Neat hing is they can be mounted in almost any direction according to their website. I may have to pick up a few for the CMPA whenever that gets built, though I;m pretty sure I don't want to interlock the entirety of Jefferson. The banner looks nice as well.

Afternoon all,

Just a coffee as i race through please Chloe.

Ulrich -= hope everything works out for your father. My friend Sam did his layout based on the Colorado area and it's fantastic. Great scenery vignettes and rolling stock.

Ray - love both the switch stands and mini armstrong throw levers. All the latter need are 10-12 coats of sea foam green paint with chips and they'd be dead on the real thing.    J.R.

Good Evening Folks,

spent the whole day waiting for some news about my father. The only good news is that there are no news. I am still worried. We will be going there for the weekend to be with my mother and also to see my father.

Found an old book of mine on the Roaring Fork Valley, by Len Shoemaker. It is basically the history of the settlement of this valley in the 1880´s, and also the history of the Colorado Midland RR, which was abandoned in 1918. Lots of spectacular photographs of that time and a source of inspiration!

Ray - those Detail West switch stands are just great looking!

Zoe, just a Beer before I call it a day. I am really tired & hope to get some rest tonight.

See you tomorrow, folks.

Mornin' everyone!

Zoe I'll have a breakfast Bagel with bacon and cheese to go along with my dark roast coffee in a R&GV RR mug, please and thank you.

Haven't got a whole lot of time this morning as today is crunch day for getting everything complete.  I am printing out materials right at the moment so I can at least enjoy my morning coffee....

Reading many of the comments about the turnouts controls and stuff, I am not really sure which ones some of you guys are talking about....  just to be sure, this is a switch stand from Details West:

They are very close if not exact scale and do not control the turnout points...  The turnout points can be made to turn the target (only) on the switch stand (see Wedudler's site).  I have done THAT to a few of them and it is very exacting and fine work that has to be done.  It connects to the point with a piece of piano wire THAT is impossible to get soldered correctly.... (Brass would be better if I could find it).

These are the Humpyard Purveyance Interlocking type turnout throws:

They are not intended to be used right next to the turnouts.  They appear to be very strong as I have already whacked them hard a few times.  The machines re built as a kit and use a stainless steel wire inside a flexible teflon tube to connect with the turnout.  They work very well and are a good alternative to the tortoise machines if you want to throw turnouts by hand.  I don't think Walthers sells them.

OK, I hope I have answered all the questions about THAT stuff.

Kyle, welcome to the diner!  Sounds like you have an "interesting" occupation at the moment!

Ulrich, my prayers for your Father!  Hope it turns out not to too serious and he can make a complete recovery.  My prayers continue for you as well.

Hope you all have a good day!

Good Morning! Oh my! I’ll have what Bill’s having. Coffee too please. Yup Dark Roast Thank you. Thinking about making that my regular.

Don't know what that was in the trashcan I took to the street this morning, but WOWzers!

Sunny, with a high near 63. North northwest wind between 8 and 14 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph. Gonna be a chilly one today.

Got the floor tile pulled up in the Entranc…., er Foy-yay. And the new tile is gotted. (he he. “gotted” LOVE it!) Today I shall lay the Foy-yay floor. ( I hope)

Kyle- WelcomeAnd a big Thank You for your service from me too. Though we often talk “off topic” we do talk about trains, biguns and littleuns. We have all sorts of patrons, track plan guru’s, Master Modellers, Unofficial Master Weatherers, new guys, old guys, (old to modeling Flip. Nothing personal) guys who have layouts, had layouts, building layouts, some for the second or third time. Got the best of everything without the attitude. You can get some of the best help in here from these guys without any of that “my way is the best way and yours is wrong” attitude. Only thing it takes to be accepted in here is belief that each has their own likes and that’s fine with us. Your enjoyment and doing it your way is all that counts. Why you can even ask the deadly “which is better” question AND admit you run TYCO in here without fear. Just have fun. Oh, like they said we still have to follow Forum rules. The mods just let them get stretched juuuust a tiny, tiny bit but they are not ignored. Oh no.  We usually police ourselves so as to not let someone get into trouble. That's what Vinnies for there in the corner.

Jim- Yes. Foy -yay. (nose in air) If you recall there is not a guest bathroom, but a “Powder Room”. (nose even higher. Spins and sits down. Sips coffee loudly) Oo. Hot.

Are they?

Charlie- GREAT news about Pippa!!!

Ulrich- Your Father is in my Prayers. I wait for good news.Angel

Morgan- How about “Flash to Bang” snack car. I’ll let you use your imagination as to what that means. If you’ve ever eaten a burrito off of a “gut wagon” you’ll know.Mischief

G- Kyle has the the most dangerous job??? HAH! Apparently you don’t know how dangerous it is to defuse Brenda when I’ve….. Well I never do anything wrong, so let’s say…..when she doesn’t understand why I did something the way I did. Now THAT’s dangerous.

Ken- You mean…….. Something for me is ……easy? Well that’s unusual.

Anyway, just need to put up the new range hood. And the Kitchen will be done. Well except for three door handles and resquare a couple doors and refresh the lazy susan. I guess Kitchen STILL isn’t done. ManSigh.

Here’s hoping J.R. finally gets to start on the layout! Sounds good.Yes

Y’all have a Great Day now ya hear?!!!

Good morning. It's 62 and mostly cloudy. The high will be 86 and it will be partly sunny. The chance for rain is 10%.

Well as I've had no offers of help with my pseudo car computer project I guess I'll have to see what I can scrounge up around here or write it off. The selection of parts I have makes for pretty slim pickings, mostly old computer drives. I don't know if I'd be able to make anything convincing out of it. Today I have to go out to take care of some personal business. That's likely to keep me busy for several hours. I'll take my camera along in case I come across something interesting.

Good morning all,

A regular and a blueberry bagel please, 48F and rainy on and off today and tomorrow. Trip to Ontario is off until Monday (no customs paperwork until then - so much for free trade and open borders). Travis went into the wall so we're having a scramble just now to paint spare bodywork and Fed Ex it to the next track (car wasn't bad and is taped together for now).  It never ends does it?

Welcome Kyle.  Even in an apartment you could do a shelf layout so you can run your increasing stock back and forth a bit. Better yet in N you could do a bit more on a shelf and since I assume in your specialty you have fairly steady hands and patience the trackw..k would be a breezeWink.

With luck, I'll start moving my train stuff out of storage and into the basement this weekend starting with the workbench and cabinets. After that I should start getting the wall studs up for the actual layout room so I can actually graph the space I'll end up with. Right now it looks like 7' x 20' plus or minus a bit. Not the empire we all imagine, but twice what I had before and a useful size especially as I intend to use two levels again with an urban setting on one end as before and the majority of the switching on the lower level leaving the two track main (racetrack) on the upper level. I had a foot of seperation before and so far I'm planning on doing the same again.

Time to get back into the shop. Radiators to fix and a Cooper to play with (the Monaco - not a Mini). CUL, J.R.

Good morning NEW YORK!

Ulrich the prayer candle will have an extra prayer when it is lit today. Angel Angel

Kyle- glad to see you participating! Thanks for the Drinks! Here in the diner ther is no such thing as drunk from alcohol either, so everyone can drive home safely from here {well most of us are home when we post}. How about a nice shelf layout for a switching layout that is easy to set up on a table and stand in the corner when not in use and can easily travel with you when you move around.Or a module like RAY is building and has pics of here! I think you have the most dangerous job here so thank you for your service! Also remember, here in the diner "work" is teh only 4 letter word allowed and a four letter word often spelled "w**k" so as not to offend anyone!

RAY-thems thar some fancy looking switch throws yous got yerself thar! how much are they? and one gets them from where? and they are {easy, hard} to hook up to work right? How do they connect? piano wire?

I see ROBBY P. has top honors today so I will have a full English breakfast, please with some Coffee in a PRR MUG. and some Earl Grey tea, too.

Well off today to get other half's paycheck and deposit it. and off to the Insurance company to switch coverage. And do a little shopping.

 Good morning.

Another cool/windy day.   The weather guesser said..........."maybe some snow flakes tonight".

Well went over to my buddys house yesterday, and showed him how to weather a hopper.   We also had about 7-8 trains come by in about two hours.   It was real busy for some reason.

Today..........I have to finish up the hopper, I forgot some paint when I was showing it yesterday.  Also finish up the customers car.   That's pretty much it.

 Kyle........Welcome

Ray........Those are some neat looking ground throws.

*EDIT*   As pointed out........I have the honors.   Just don't make the bill to high!!

Flo, just a cup of coffee.

Ulrich, we all praying for your father, keep us up to date.

Last mountain, tanks for the tip on the Range Hood.

Range Hood Got the grease traps out, and they are nasty. I am starting to get a little uneasy about dropping it. Well, not dropping it but getting it back in by my self. What I am worried about if there is no plug in and at this point pretty sure there is not one. Is getting the wires hooked back up, while trying to hold the hood up.

Think I will go clean some Engine wheels, you know the trains all wise act up when you have a guest over.

Hey new guy, welcome! Post pics next time you a camera and some models are in the same room, we'd love to see detailing.

By the way, one more little piece of info, every month's end, the mods ask us to close down the previous DDiner and open up a new one. So someone volunteers to lash up a loco and tow it to another exotic location. Last month wer were less than a mile from the Madison Incline in Indiana. (6% grade) now we've parked in New York, and I think there's talk of going south for the winter (it's warm). I don't think we ever really decided what the Diner looks like, but I myself lean towards one of the former SP Lark/Cascade triple units, for the simpple reason that their the only one's BIG ENOUGH to contain us all, and their full-width from end to end, so we aren't even pinched off in the middle by a wall. but to each their own creativities.

---

Not to sond like a broken record, but I do still have a car running nameless that I'd love to pick ideas from your brainses.

Like some help form those of you feeling creative:

For sake of I like the cute little thing, I picked up a shorty Diner. One of the old Kasiner Hobby models, I suspect, or someone who got hold of the tooling.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v242/TitanXP/PICT0114.jpg

I plan on turning it into a Lunch-Counter-concessions car. Something that can be leased to museums seeking food serv ice on theri trains and a place to hock off their baubles, or be charted by excursions needing the same. 90% of the time, I figure they won't need true "Dinner" service, just something that can do lunches, perhaps breakfast as needed. Maybe heavy lnches, but still largely basic meals.

And in anticipation, I've already got "Elliot's" in reserve for something else if I can ever find a model of it, so we can pull that one out.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v242/TitanXP/elliots.jpg

Galaxy: I've not saidf it yet, but I've been thinking of the young man as well. I hope the GF part can work out for him, as long as she's supportive of his cleansing (hoping that happens). Otheriwse, it's no better to him to be ripping people away from him.
When Dad passed away, A lot of people kept checking on me. The answer unspoken but always there: No I'm not alright. I jhust lost my Father. Of course I;m depressed! But I'm not gonna do anything stupid that'll hinder my chances to go work with trains for a living." I hope he can find a similar rock, and ASAP.

Goooooooooooooooooooooooooooood Morning, sedation please...

KYLE: WELCOME! And, a hearty THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE!Bow Did I hear right? You do EOD??? My hat's off to you sir. You mentioned "Hurt Locker," have you ever seen "Danger, UXB?" It was a BBC mini-series from the early 80's about a British bomb disposal unit during the Blitz. You might find it interesting.

JIM: THAT coal tower was in the CNW yard at Boone, Iowa. I think Uncle Pete done tore it down. I don't think even the sand tower on the side was in-service when I shot the shot in '96. In fact, the more I think about it, I think the tracks were gone from underneath it too. The Cheap and Nothing Wasted didn't want to spend the bucks to tear it down, I figure...but Uncle Pete sure found a way to get the job done. As for THAT red fire engine...I think it'll be way too new for your era, THAT's a 1990 International with body by Smeal. THAT is also our first-out Engine. Hopefully, we'll be able to make her second-out and get something newer with more seating and the ability to "pack-up" enroute. I think Boley made something similar to her in HO scale. She's a pretty common design: commercial cab/chassis, top-mounted pump panel, high-side compartments on the driver's side, ladder on the passenger (Officer's) side.

RAY: Thanks for the info and the link...I bookmarked it, will look at it later today, when I'm more awake and "supposed" to be awake. The switch machines look pretty cool too...  You must have the patience of Job, or you say a lot of those words Mom washed my mouth out with soap for... Funny, I can still taste THAT "Dial" taste...

ULRICH: Good morning to you sir, here's hoping today will be a better day for you.

Well I guess I'll take a cobb salad and a diet soda. Thanks :)

As for a layout, no real big plans. I live in an apartment for now and there is simply no room. I'm into modern trains, ya know, mile long coal drags with DPU. So I spend a lot of my time detailing, and weathering my fleet for when I do have a layout. My other little hobby is planning the fictional Puget Sound Lines...a regional connector line here in the Sound.

When I'm not toying with trains, I'm an Army EOD Tech (bomb squad, like Hurt Locker, sorta). Takes up a lot of my time, and I travel a lot. It has it's perks though, like the Hyatt I'm typing this message from!

Next few drinks are on me....order at will

Good Morning Everyone,

now it is a little past 7.30 am and it is still pitch-black outside. The days are getting short rapidly here up north.

Flo, a strong coffee please - must have caught only an hour or so of sleep last night - not enough for a big guy like me!

Ray - that diorama is coming along nicely Thumbs Up. I like those "point levers", but they appear to be too fragile for my clumsy hands.

CN Charlie - glad to hear that Pippa is doing well. 16 is quite an age for a kitty.

Kyle - glad you found your way to this place. We are just a bunch of friends meeting here to chat about the day, sometimes on topic, sometimes off topic. Sometimes, we are very talkative, and there are times, when we just sit at the RC (rivet counter) and watch what is going on in the big as well as the little world.

Jeff -it is a reflux thing from my kidneys, which I am enjoying since my childhood days. I wake up after a few hours of sleep with a biting pain. It did not bother me much in my younger days, but since a few months it seem to be getting worse. Doc says to take a little pill to help me sleep, but I don´t subscribe to chemically induced sleep.

Top honors. I always for get about that. I have set up this forum in a way to always show the last post first, so I always have top honors when I post Whistling Vinnie, whatever the guys will be ordering today - put it on my tab. I will pick it up this evening!

Have a good one!

Good Evening,

Another hectic day at work but only a few more to go and then it should ease off a bit.

Ken, I only have 3 tank cars and I have nothing against them but I don't have an oil facility on the layout so they are just something that add variety to a consist. I suppose they could be delivering oil to the service yard. I had hoped to put in a diesel service facility but there just wasn't enough room. Oh, and then there is the issue of the layout being just too small to hold much rolling stock.  A 10 car train is about as long as I run but 7 looks better.

Jim, just look at it this way, once you've done one PK2 tank car kit, you'll have all sorts of experience to just plunge ahead and build all three, one after the other. You could start this week-end and hopefully you'd be done by at least Christmas. Assuming of course that you move at my blistering pace.

We had little Pippa in for an ultasound today to see if her bladder cancer is any worse and were  pleasantly surprised to find that it is the same as it was 6 months ago and it isn't causing her any problems. Had her checked by our regular vet tonight and he too was amazed she is doing so well as she will be 16 on Monday.  I didn't think she would make it to summer but she is a tough little thing.

Well time to shut down and head to bed.

Ahhhhhhh....  Good evening people!

Flo, just my evening cup of decaf right now.

Well... (deep subject).  The module/project is pretty much (finally) finished.  I got the last of the ballast done this evening and can now rest for a bit (while I run off some paperwork I need to give out to members at the Meet....).  The project looks like this at the moment:

Just need to make sure all the turnouts are operating as they should be (will need to add a bit of graphite in a few places - darn diluted white glue has a propensity to move to places i don't want it), and check to be absolutely sure everything is properly in gauge, and THAT the old loco will move flawlessly through all the trackage, and it will be ready to load and take to the Meet. ( Please do say a little prayer it stays working while it is judged......)

Chris, the switch stands are a kit from Details West.  Very easy to put together, paint, weather, and install.... If!  If you don't want to make them operating.  Then it is a bit more difficult.  Wedudler, here on the forum has a tutorial on how to do THAT: http://www.westportterminal.de/switchstands.html  I have done some for my layout.  If I had about 2 more weeks to fiddle, I would have made all of them on the project working stands.  Oh, if you meant the switch machines, they are from Humpyard Purveyance and look like this:

They are downright neat... I have been wanting to use them for something ever since I first saw them.  They require some careful adjustment and such, but aren't really THAT hard to use (Unless you want to use them to control the frog polarity, then expect to spend a bit more time and use a lot of those words mommy said she would wash your mouth out with soap for....).Smile, Wink & Grin

Hope all of you have a great night!  Ulrich!  get some sleep!  THAT is an order!!!

Hey guys,

Jim, I know what you mean, that soapbox has stealth to rival the Navy Seals.

Jeff- Sorry to hear about that, best of wishes for your nerve pain and insomnia.

Urlich- Hope you fix the problem that's giving you insomnia.

Well, I've got a late start tommorrow in school, so an orthodontist appointment is in my morning. The family is having a hay rack ride, and unless I can get a hay rack in, oh I don't know 2 days, I may wind up using the snowmobile trailer. But anyway, I still have to buy hay.

If you can read this... thank a teacher. If you are reading this in english... thank a veteran

When in doubt. grab a hammer.

If it moves and isn't supposed to, get a hammer

If it doesn't move and is supposed to, get a hammer

If it's broken, get a hammer

If it can't be fixed with a hammer... DUCK TAPE!

Sir Madog

Mug of hot milk with a spoonful of honey in it, please. Insomnia strikes again  2.30 am and I am up already.

I know the feeling. I frequently am awakened between 2 and 4 am due to nerve pain.

Evenin', Chloe - I'll have a grilled chicken caesar salad and a RBF please. Thanks! Eating a little lighter tonight (okay, a LOT lighter than some of these chowhounds...). Wink

[Edit]: Well, looks like Ulrich slipped in before I noticed, so TOP (Top Of Page, Kyle) is mine. Chloe, start the tab for me. Chloe, see if Ulrich might want a bite of something or some hot cocoa or warm milk to help him get back to Zzz, since it's my treat.

Chris - nice shot of that coaling tower; what are they using that for, nowadays? And thanks for posting the photo of that (RED) fire engine, too. Now I'll be going nuts trying to find one of those, too... Whistling

Garry, I'm sure you're glad to get back home (and to sleep in your own bed again, if you're like I am when I get back from being away a while...). Thumbs Up

CN Charlie - was that LL tank car an older one (as in, 8,000 or 10,000 gallons sized)? If so, I'd best check if I have those. I have three P2K tanker car kits, and haven't got to those (so wondering how much 'fun' those might be for me...). Smile, Wink & Grin

Ray, hope you get your stuff for the meet ready in time! Sounds like all that can get in the way, is getting in the way. Oops

Todd - Foy-ay, is it? Hey, if THAT's what Brenda wants, that's what ya give her... Smile, Wink & Grin

Galaxy, as Chris and others said, your friend's kid will need to be motivated soon enough (to take his medication, AND to go to rehab for the pot problem). If he doesn't, it's doubtful that his problems will just go away on their own (my guess). (As for him getting released so soon, he may have been, uh, how do I say, 'less than fully truthful' with the doctor. I've seen it when I go to assess somebody at a police station that the family said was suicidal, but the client denies it). And FYI, I've seen studies that show that when somebody in a family dies by suicide, it increases the chances that someone else in the family will think about/try it by up to 50 percent. Definitely not the argument given of "I'm not hurting anyone else." (okay, let's put that soapbox back in the corner, okay?)  Hope you get the Kia's belts (and other parts) w**king right - about time for the dealership to get you a loaner, I'd say. Yeah

Welcome to the Diner, Kyle_Y! Sorry if you're not into fixin' cars, we have got into that (off-)topic a bit lately. We'll get back around to trains and model railroading soon enough. Have a beverage of your choice on me! What's your layout (or plans for such) like (era/timeframe modeled, prototype/freelanced, scale, etc.)? You'll probably find this bunch fairly helpful if you have questions, so don't be bashful with any that you have. Thumbs Up

Oh, speaking of w**k (paragraph or two back), today we started our recertification (three person team visiting our agency). I'm a little concerned, as the guy who talked with me about crisis services either is from or used to be in the Norfolk, VA area, and they have a way better setup (and funding) for mental health services there than we do in Missouri. He was asking what training we have for crisis services (some online, but mostly OJT from the more senior members of the team), and said in his area they have about 26 areas they have to have training on to w**k crisis. (Of course, that area had the Virginia Tech shooting a few years back, so they probably had a more receptive governor/state legislature than we do in Missouri currently. Hopefully, it won't take a major disaster like the Va. Tech deal for our dear legislators/governor to decide that 'yes, providing mental health services should be a priority for funding...') Where DID that silly SoapBox come from? I swore I had put that thing away...

Not much news in the MRR'ing department. Last night I started going through the MR back issues listing and their description/listing of articles to get some idea of which I might order come payday (Friday). Sure do miss their old index to the database that you could use...Sigh Will continue looking over/printing out the article lists tonight.

Think I'll chill at the window booth and watch the evening's switcher pulling the empties for the morning peddler. Prayers will continue for those mentioned, as well as those in need of healing and comfort.

Blessings,

Jim in Cape Girardeau
