I could see a passenger train departing Sweethome Chicago in 1930 and finally arriving in Sweethome Alabama in 1990.  Typical Amtrak efficiency could explain the th 60-year delay.

The perfect ending to the " how I finally got my Christmas present that was lost in the Mail from uncle Chuck saga". Big Smile

There was a story in the elementary textbooks I think it was, about a guy who had a stamp ollection, and told his psych doc about vistinign a ?th floor below Grand Central, and seeing an old time station there, small booth, small window, leading to a sigle track. (There is no 13th in GC, it only went one less down)

Then he notices in the Dad's stamp collection, still on the envelope is one that's gotta be 40 years old. It's addressed to his Dad, from his Psych, who's no longer at home...

Made me think of that

Jon - Are there any plans to ever connect the two layouts?  I could see a passenger train departing Sweethome Chicago in 1930 and finally arriving in Sweethome Alabama in 1990.  Typical Amtrak efficiency could explain the th 60-year delay.

Big Smile

It's not impossible. The layout legs are approximately the same length on both layouts, so track height may not be too much of a problem. I just need a barn to set it allup in.
