Great job everyone (as usualSmile),

Well last weekend I visited my local model railroad club. I stayed all day Saturday and got to run some of my trains on their layout. So here's some pic's:

This photo shows about 1/3 of the layout, the rest is in the other room. Some of the modules are not completed yet.

Here's one of my F45 going over one of the layout's grade crossings.

Another of my SD50's sitting in the staging yard (the same yard I posted a picture of 2 weeks ago). Note one of the members PRR Caboose/Cabin Car collection on the leftShock

Finally, here's a close-up of a BLI Hi-rail vehicle that I found on the layout (the one available through Factory Direct Trains).

If you want to see more there are some video's on my Youtube. Anything that starts with "WTMRRC 3/20/10:" was taken at the club last Saturday. The rest are just some video's of my layout and trains at home.

Keep up the good work,

Jamie

First run on the layout this weekend. Finished the wiring and hooking up the turnouts this week. So now I can finally sit back and watch some trains run.

I held my March ops session today. It went pretty well even though Murphy visited two minutes before the session was due to start by breaking the lift bridge power switch beyond repair. More on my blog:

Tom, that last photo, of the 44-tonner pulling away, is particularly effective.

Mark I agree, the color version is just so-so. Check out the difference.

...Crandell would you make a longer one with the Q 2 under more steam please?

Here you go, Ken.  I hope it gets your blower up to pressure. Smile  Sorry, but I can't aim the camera well, and it is a point & shoot on movie mode.

Thanks! That was just done with acrylic washes. I've since bought a dual-action internal mix airbrush and compressor, so my weathering technique has changed.

Dave, is that the mtl gondola that came with the rail ties? if so I just picked one up last weekend. I think its fantastic, just needs a lil weathering and you did it up right! nice job.

Jeff, it's the same. The tie load is very nice, too. But I'm saving the tie load for an MoW gon. I'm thinking of converting an otherwise unused siding on the layout into a scrap yard.

Great stuff again this week guys. You are inspiring!

Too many great photos and models to mention individually. Kudos to you all.

A Santa Fe freight headed by an FP-45 and GP-30 round the curve on the West end of the BRVRR layout. The FP-45 now sports a new Soundtraxx decoder and sounds awesome.

Tyler, I too am suprised that your Zephyr couldn't handle the load. I often run as many a 6 sound equipped locos, sometimes 8 at once with mine.

Keep up the good work evereyone. This is always the best thread of the week.

Remember its your railroad

As always, there's a lot of great looking stuff on here this week!

I'll add my own contribution for this week, with the latest out of the paint shop:

Here's a Walthers F40 I've done up as VIA rebuild prototype #6400. It's still lacking an Air Conditioner, winterization hatch, ditch lights, and MU hoses, but is otherwise complete:

Note: I "finished" this model less than 1 week before the real thing was wrecked at St. Charles de Bellechasse in Quebec. Just my luck...

I'm also nearing completion of the first of my Rapido LRC coach kits, so I expect that will have to wait for next week's thread.

I posted an earlier picture of this scene back on Page 2, but I've been able to get some layout time in this weekend.  I completed the girder work and added some passengers to the new South Ferry station.

i\

This scene will be completely hidden by the surface layout.  It will be visible by train-cam, or by crawling underneath the layout.  I would have put girders between the tracks, too, but I needed to keep that open for maintenance in case I have a problem with a train down there.

Hi jdobo

I was amazed to see firstly CN sargent stripes, and even more so by a peek of GTW blue and red on your side of the "pond"! Thumbs Up I also liked the scene with the 2CV parked under the the tree.   Gerry S.

Great work and photos.  I used to post my new work almost every week, but I've had other priorities:  I'm in my third job since this time last year; I'm selling my house, so I can buy one wilt my fiancée.  So, there isn't any new work to show off.  Still, I miss participating so I went out and staged a picture to post:

It's the "Blackwater Cannonball" heading up to Butte Creek while the local freight heads down to the bustling community of Blackwater.

For what it's worth, my fiancée insists that our new house have a really good room for my trains as well as a shop for my automotive and furniture making pursuits.  Sorry guys she's taken, and so is her sister.

Phil,

I haven't posted in a while, so here's my results so far of my attempt to make a better sedum tree. I haven't dipped them in matte medium yet. They're made up of branches with the flowers cut off and stuck together with glue and brass wire.

As always - great modeling and great pictures posted by great modelers!

Here is a picture that doesn't show great modeling, but it does show some model railroad fun - my junior engineer (standing on a chair to get a better view) is about to pick up some cars at the Riverside Avenue industry support yard:

 Great work everyone!

Today I did some decal work. Good lord I hate those tiny numbers, but U23B #6330 now has ANRR on her in accordance w/ the ANRR history. Also got her fixed/tuned up to where she's running pretty good. still picks one turnout; it's the only turnout she picks and she's the only one that picks it. I think it may be the turn though; she's also the longest so it could be she follows the curve across the points. The camera is a cruel mistress as well. never noticed the finger print behind the cab until now.

Look who finally has her black trucks! GP9 #3 is patched to match ANRR lore. I'll be picking up shells for all three locos to paint into ANRR company colors for my 2000 operating scenario (check the history of the ANRR here for background info)

GP35 #5 sports her patch as well
