WPF february 06-07
Posted by Marc_Magnus on Friday, February 5, 2010 12:23 AM

Hi,

Happy to be back again whith this WPF post.

I just finished painting the kitbash Walthers ice house in Nscale, I show it under construction in WPF fifteen days ago.

The platforms are underway too; painted but need some work; I will show you when finished.

As usual I work on differents projects during the same time.  I did'nt like to wait between drying time; so I have also build during this period a Walthers ash pit but whith a modified house to give her a somewhat less modern look; don't know if it's prototypical but I like the look.

I also publish a pic about a scratchbuild columns which will be the sustains of the floor of a big station for Corinnesburgh, my next big project structure.

Hope to see your projects too.

Good weekend from Belgium.

Marc

Mikelhh - that picture is spectacular.   LOVE the detail.   You can feel the chill in the air by just looking at it.

Finished a hydrocal stone wall for my church scene underway. So here's before, during and after. Still have 2 more to make...

Super pics so far guys! With all the modelers here in the mid-atlantic I imagine this thread will have plenty of action while the nor'easter nails us!

A great looking WPF as usual!!!

I haven't posted in awhile, so I will catch everybody up.

Started on a shipping company.  Still got to add some details.

Added a swamp, but I still gotta work on that.

And...................I started to make some small boxes (for the shipping company, and other areas of the layout).  I want to improve them as well.

Kinda seems like I have a pattern going Whistling .

Beautiful work Grampy!  As usual, I have a couple of questions... how did you do the top section (horizontal) of the bridge between the edge and the ballast , I like it!  And, are most of the foreground trees Super Trees?

Thanks, jarrell. If I understand your question, the bridge is a cut down foam tunnel portal and I kept the top a little higher than the roadbed and yes, most of those are Super Trees. DJ.

Offline mikelhh,  Great picture. Reminds me too much of home though, as that's how it looks out my window right now. I love your photo background.

I haven't done too much this week, other than plant some Silflor flowers

and a couple of JTT trees (from the MRC free deal)

and a second attempt at weathering a freight car.

Practice, practice, practice!

I'm trying to model 1956, not live in it.

Another great WPF shaping up...WOWWWW!! Shock Cool

Sorry to throw a bit of a damper on the fun, but I would like to remind everyone to please NOT use the quote function for this thread except for quoting text.  Quoting an entire post with mulitple images really puts the clamp on the several members here who love the thread each weekend but who have to walk away for 10 minutes while the page loads if they are on dial-up.  Quote text only, please. Smile

Here is my contribution; an SW8 is shoving an old wooden short gondola onto the wheel track in preparation for dropping off some wheel sets.

WOW!!!! Everyone's stuff looks so great... Grampy's still posting real photos, and the White River Video... very nice... I might suggest lowering your frame rate for Youtube, but the video got my and my daughters' attention... They both love trains.

Good Work everyone... Since the weather is frozen sunshine, about a foot of it coming so I'm told, looks like the paint shop will be open and I've got a mean dozen DPM's to paint. I'm not much of a weatherer, I mostly give it a shot of dullkote and call it good, but after seeing some of the work here, I'm thinking of trying it...

Kudos all.

Here is my entry for the week.

The local freight rumbles by as a father and son return from a successful fish trip.

The photo is taken on a module I built for my local modular model railroad club. I photographed the scene outdoors to get the best lighting and some nice shadows from the trees.

Great job again this week everyone,

Here's a photo of my "new" SD40-2. I put the new in quotes because I've actually have had it for 3 years, but since the circuit board burnt out a year ago I haven't been able to use it. I finally found a replacement board that wasn't too expensive and replaced it. I also had to replace the frame because the old one got damaged when I attempted to repair the old board...Banged Head

Have a great weekend,

A few shots of my current project.  It's a water tank for my On30 locomotives.  It's roughly based on the Colorado & Southern Baker tank, hence the flat roof.  Right now it's still in sub-assemblies.  I am awaiting delivery of the necessary detail parts; bolts and washers, tank band turnbuckles, and the spout mechanism.

The tank itself is built up around a salted peanut can.

I have figured out what is wrong with my brain!  On the left side nothing works right, and on the right side there is nothing left!
