I know this topic has been covered before but I wanted to fire up a new thread for all those out there that love seeing pictures of people's impressive rosters. I currently have 8 locomotives with one more waiting for a new coat of paint.

I have the NYC Niagara. I just haven't taken a picture of it yet. The NYC Dreyfuss Hudson (BLI) and the HH600 switcher (Atlas) won't join the roster till 2010.

The U23B still wears the ATSF paint because I really like it. At some point in the future after my layout is looking presentable and my painting skills have improved, I'll probably buy new shells and repaint them all for the ANRR. I'll keep the originals to remind me of my work now.

Here's my roster
It includes all of TSRy's locos, although I only actually model 2201 and 4100.
In the future, I will model 1002 and what will become 1100. I bought NJT 500 (custom painted, sadly, I can't say I did it myself) and patched it as 1300. I also bought another SW1500 that will become 1100, and 1300 will be "unpatched" and go on display in its original number. 1100 (1300) will be "rebuilt" as a "genset" (actually, it will just get paint and some details).I placed my order for 1002 (Atlas NRE 3GS21B) back in August, and it is due in January (can't wait! ).
But Google deactivated my account, and now I can't access my website... So looks like I'll be moving back to my Webs website...

Well, here they are. Not on the layout. Arranged in no particular order...except mostly in order of purchase.
Many about 15% have been weathered now, since this database was made. I needed to create a visual database so I could recall the loco numbers down at the other end of the layout when I put them on the track from the display case area.
I know..I know....I have a mix of roads and eras, but my layout isn't finished and will be generic. I felt, like many, that a small layout could be more interesting with a lot of roads and even eras to switch on an off depending on what I felt like running on the day. But now I am moving to a big house and will expand the layout to have almost half the loco roster at a time on the tracks somewhere.
The blue names are the eBay sellers I purchased from. At first I erased this from a few pages posted here and then I couldn't be bothered. All locos came from eBay. About 25% brand new, most of the rest in as new, and 5% clunkers in some way....usually too noisy for my taste...like an old Athearn.
All are converted to DCC. About a dozen with sound. All are speed matched with at least one other loco unless they are one of the 5% too noisy to run above yard speed.
What's missing? I have a new P2K Erie Lakawanna PA and a good used P2K Wabash PA A and B unit coming in the mail next week.

Nice topic willjayna. Awww Tex, I'm always attracted to the fresher posts anyway. When I see a thread with dozens and dozens of pages I can just about be guaranteed at least half of it is off topic anyway, and often outdated or with unloadable images. And I have to remember to set my browser to sort by most recent.
Here's just my MRL fleet. Not counting my BNSF, BN, SF, UP, SP, and Amtrak (and other passenger fleet)
These are just the ones that I have finished too. I still have some in the works for MRL not to mention the idea that I am considering purchasing the next 2 SD40s that Athearn are bringing out nor the SD70Ace possibilities too.

I have locomotives ranging from old steamers (4-6-0), Mikados, Northern 4-8-4 (Santa Fe #3751), a UP Big Boy to Geep units, SD70 and AC6000s. The owner of the Clinton-Golden Valley RR grew up riding the rails as a young lad. Being a little eccentric, he purchased old steamers, had them renovated and runs frequent railfanning trips. The main revenue comes from a local coal mine, which he also owns.

Thanks for picking me up on this one. I feel the same way as you do and that is exactly why I didn't find an older thread to continue. Why do some people have to try and hijack threads anyway.
Anyway I may have another loco or two to add in the coming weeks, strongly debating the purchase of a tower 55 es44dc that would look great in NS colors. I do have another Athearn C44-9W which I am painting to match the operation lifesaver paint scheme. Certainly can't wait for the SD70m-2 locos to hit later in 2010. Yeah I'll take 2. With all these locos I have and am getting one thing is for sure, I need more rolling stock to keep these engines working.

This is a common topic, but thanks anyways for starting this thread. I've wanted to get a recent fleet photo for some time now (my last was taked in November 08) and this thread was the final modivation I needed to unpack everthing and take the picture. Ok, I'm curious now. Why don't you assign them the whole loco number in DCC? I am alone in my hobby way out here in the sticks, so there may be some habit or club protocol with which I am not familiar, but I give mine the full DCC designation.
Yes, this topic comes up frequently, but a lot of times it's just asking to 'list' our loco roster, not actual photos of them.
If I were to show photos of all of my motive power, we'd be here until that Warm Place Down Below froze over, so here's a small sampling. They're mostly brass and all steam, but I use every one of them and frequently.

T I love it. Your layout and roster look great. But the best part is the frequently part. Right now I am getting ready to dismantle my layout and move it to a new bigger home where I can start the expansion and the scenery. Then I get to the frequently part.
Edit: and what is just as great about this hobby are the folks like, maybe, railfanS there with a roster on the bedroom floor and some track on a blanket.....with an equally valid and enthusiastic participation in model railroading. Gotta love it.

Well said. I too am one of the unfortunate people who do not have a permanent layout but when I have time which is mostly on the weekends I will put together my layout and be up and running in about 45 mins.
I have everything stored in a way that I have dramatically reduced the setup and teardown time as to maximize the time I do have to operate and have fun. The great thing about this hobby for me is I can enjoy it now even in my townhouse with limited space but also get prepaired when we move to a larger house with extra space.

I am rebuilding my collection, sold off all the junk I'll never run :) I have whittled it down (through Ebay sales, two still up for auction) to:
Northern Pacific: 2x Atlas GP7's (DCC), 1 Lifelike GP18 1st gen, 1 Lifelike GP18 2nd gen, 1 custom 2-6-2, and tomorrow morning I pick-up my Intermountain FP-7A-B set from the LHS.
AT&SF: F7 ABBA, Spectrum, slowly being converted to DCC and all-powered. Will be detailed and numbered to match museum pieces alive today!
BNSF: Spectrum 8-40CW
UP: Spectrum 8-40C, will likely be converted next month to a JnJ FP45 with DCC
BN: Atlas GP30 (1st gen)
By the end of January I'll have a fully DCC fleet and hopefully some more scenery and city work on my 2x4 coffee table layout; I'll be starting the 30"x80" vertically-storing layout this weekend... something nice to run a 10-car NP Loewy North Coast Limited on!
