Actually, I have WAY too many passenger cars! I'm planning on selling at least 2/3 of them, and keeping just enough for three trainsets of 2-4 cars each.

An Illinois Central Panama Limited P2K E-7 A-B-B-A locomotive set with SoundTraxx sytems in all 4 units, and 12 matching Rivarossi passenger cars. A Bachmann Spectrum 7-car heavyweight Santa Fe passenger car set with a Rivarossi Pacific Santa Fe steam engine.

I need something better to pull the heavyweights, though, because the Rivarossi Pacific wheels just spin trying to pull the cars up a 2% grade, even with traction tires. Maybe another Pacific to double-head would solve the problem.

In N scale Concor makes most of the cars necessary to represent the California Zephyr. They are very close to correct. They don't have the Dome/Lounge/Dormitory [:(], however and many need corrections to the car names.

I also have more Zephyrets than the WP owned, some Southern Pacific bi level commuter cars that I bought in the '70's and a Trainmaster to pull them.

I tried to sell my two cents worth, but no one would give me a plug nickel for it.

I don't have a leg to stand on.

From memory, since they're currently packed away in the basement...

I've got mostly Con-Cor "Burlington" and "Calif. Zephyr" cars and one Pennsy sleeper..

A couple of the short Athearn "Burlington" cars.

A set of undec. MDC Harriman cars.

One of the MDC shorty, old time cars I was going to make up into a RR type, roadside diner.

A couple baggage/rpo cars In UP and DRG paint I picked up at swaps or at the LHS.

The recently released, and recently "retired" set of Rivarrosi shorty HW cars in Burlington.

A couple Athearn and/or MDC HW cars to use for mail or to use as yard buildings.

Walthers "Oscar and Piker" set in Pullman paint/lettering.

Kato "Burlington" business car.

IHC(?) CNW baggage car.

P1K "Rock Island" RDC

I think that's it.

Got rid of my HO Athearn "Shorty" fleet.

Currently have Rivorossi and Walthers Budd Cars. Also have one Con-Cor 85ft. sleeper. I'm rather uncertain about it but I may wind up selling it as I don't think neither the Southern Railway, L&N, or SCL had these types of sleepers. Looks more like a Santa Fe type.

In kit form I have four E&B Valley cars. Hope to assemble them during my vacation time this summer.

(I sure hope that the hurricanes take a vacation "away" from Florida as well!)

Cheers!

I got rid of athearn and stuff.

Am starting fresh with one each of Walthers Heavyweight Pullman 12's and 8's and one ordered pullman diner. I have a Kato B&O Business car that is a keeper even though the paint is fanciful.

I probably will have a complete Walthers Pullman roadname sleeper train with coaches and observation eventually.

I have a pair of Proto 1000 RDC LL cars that provide local service.

I will be recieving delivery of 5 Roundhouse RTR B&O car set for the LL 0-6-0 This year.

That pretty much sums up my passenger options. If these cars dont perform (Stay on track) then they will be sold off and the seach for reliable passenger equiptment continues.

I also omitted 4 trains;
9 car high level El Capitain
12 car 1950 Super Chief

13 car 1950 Golden State
on the RR and operational and
in progress;
13 car 1947 Scout

I currently have:
Set of six Spectrum Heavyweights (UP)
Set of eight IHC Corrugated side streamliners (UP)
Three Branchline coaches (not yet fully assembled) (MP)
Set of six Athearn streamliners (Amtrak)

In addition to the items listed above, I also have both of my brother's stuff in my garage:
Set of six (I think) Athearn streamliners (SP)
Another set of six Athearn streamliners (ATSF)
One Rivarossi smoothside sleeper (SP)

I also have a couple of toys (from Lifelike, I think) that I wouldn't count normally that are also in my garage.

Wow!

All these passenger train modelers! Good to see, yet it would be great if some of you guys would photograph your varnish on your layouts or shelfs and posted them on here!

From reading most of the posts on this forum, one would get the impression that only a few modelers have strong interest in passenger trains. Good to see that it's more than a few!

Antonio, how are ConCor's passenger cars?
Are they decent runners or do they need some fine tuning like IHC's?

Me too. I'm not going to bore everyone by listing mine, but I actually saw about half of it out of the boxes a couple weeks ago. Our club had public show of a "passenger train" night. I planned to stage my trains in the hidden yard and then parade them out to the main front yard for the public to view. I had too many and overflowed the yard, so I started with some in the main yard and then filled the sidings. It was fun even though I didn't get to run them all. I ended up passing them out to other club members as they arrived.

My only disappointment was that the new Genesis F7's ABBA (two powered) couldn't pull the shortened seven car El Capitan. Must be those slick wheels. I fell back to a single powered good old reliable Stewart (so it became ABA) that had no problems at all.

Edit - Can't let this thread age out of the system. An update for me is that I now have a fleet (3 trains worth) of the Broadway Limited California Zephyr cars. It's rather ironic because I use to complain when the brass cars were $60 each! These are by far the best passenger cars produced to date by anyone. I would trade all my brass in an instant for this quality of plastic in an equivalent car.

I have are three main passenger cars, all three of which are Overland cars by Roundhouse. Along with this Turtle Creek Central car,

a small overton car, and a short Amtrak train, it's all I have.
