come on everyone, at the end of the day we are all in the same hobby, live and let live. I really do not care what colour your locomotive is, we are all here because we like trains. We have seen a great many flags fall in the last few years and, while it is sad, at least the trains are still rolling.

Now I do not agree with mr. up9899 when he says that one line should eventually become the only one. Diversity is the spice of life baby!

And CNWfan, the Chicago North Western is in good company as a fallen flag. It now has the same status as the New York Central, the Santa Fe, the Deleware and Hudson and the Western Pacific to name a few. Someday I bet even the Union Pacific will become no more than just a couple letters in some alphabet soup of a railroad name.

As for now let this all go, and let the Route Of The 400s roll off into a grange sunset with the dignity it deserves.

People are entitlesd to their opinion, This right is a basic gaurantee in both American Constitution and the Canadian charter of Rights and freedoms.

All of the posters of this forum, these forums joined together, Are smart, and usually post valuable information.

Now, judging the operation on this forum by a lousy post or two, is rather purile.

and that goes to anyone that does this.

You shouldn't call this forum bad because they allow you to express how you really feel about somehting.

you have a lot of freedom here, don't abuse it,

and when someone does, don't generalize and throw everyone else in with them.

I fianally have to put in my 2cents. I, too was upset when I heard what UP was going to do. But then I got to thinking about it...
Disney merchandise is more expensive than other similar items. They have a licensing agreement.
NASCAR merchandise is more expensive than other similar items. They have a licensing agreement.
Notice on the Athern and Atlas ads for model vehicles. When Ford products are advertised, thereis a little disclaimer that the product is made under license from Ford Motor Co. General Motors does the same thing on some models.

Does anyone call for a boycott of Disney? Of NASCAR? Of Ford Motor vehicles?

I really don't see what the big deal is with UP licensing their trademark..... Coca Cola, John Deere, Harley-Davidson, etc. have been doing it for years.
