Mike can really put on a good show. I love the low-sun winter sky wet melting snow on the paved platform look. Perfect.
I'm still wondering where all the master modellers are....
Got some pics and also a vid this weekend. Took these pics for a contest on another forum.
This vid explains the operation of my yard a bit, but more the operation. The camera can only take 3 minute vids, which is why the vid is cut off, but that interchange track is with SCRail.

Building a protolanced industrial park layout
Wow, artistry this weekend - weathering, scenery, photography and just great train shots.
I did a small weekend project. I've had a DPM freight house on my layout for some time, but I always thought the large doors on either side should be opened up, and then I could put an interior into the freight room. Here's a "topless" shot before I put the roof on. The walls and floors are downloaded images, printed on the computer, cut to shape and glued to the walls with tacky glue.
This is how it looks from the outside, with the room lights dimmed a bit:
It takes an iron man to play with a toy iron horse.
Ah Mr B, looking good! Will you be at Greenburg this year or next?

I'll probably be at the November show. It's likely that I'll still be skiing in March.
Nice work on those engines, by the way.

Slow down speedy! And, you're gonna run out of trees!!!
Seriously, the water came out good.

Pretty simple project this weekend. I changed the class lights on my new G scale (1:22.5 in this case) K-36 from red to clear. Now she's a lot more prototypical looking:
For comparison, she used to look like this:

Sir Madog my snow is a mix of Woodland Scenics, Heki Glitter snow and Top Flite Micro Balloons [ an extender for epoxy resins] held in place with dilute PVA, You have to drench it with glue and add more snow while the glue is still wet.
Mike
Nice work all,you guys always encorage me so Im going to try to post a pict or two.........well cant remember how to post a picture ,stuck em in photo bucket ,but cant figure how to bring em over .....oh well
Finally finished the icehouse. It's only 4.5" deep and in the most difficult part of my layout to get to. Keepin' the beer cold on the way down from the brewery. The other hard part was working with the 2% grade.
And "sacrafice" was intentionally misspelled...it's a backwoods town you know!
Wow. Is that future floor wax on the pavement?

The wax would work well too, I guess, but I used a thin coat of acrylic gloss gel medium.
Grampys Trains Crandell, great photo, love your Pennsy steam. Wolfgang, looks like you've mastered it! Jeffrey, good weathering. Mike, love those little "critters". Robby, nice weathering from you. An East bound lashup , with RSD15 in the lead, exiting Blackwood cut.

Yes, that's a gorgeous shot!
Great job on the scenery and excellent photography! You can almost feel the cold as you look at the picture. Hope those fellows are wearing "ice shoes"; looks to be slippery! Again, excellent modeling!

Margaritaman,Nice Icehouse. I need one of those for my string of beer refers. I don't see the 2% grade though. I have the same problem. I've never seen an ice platform on a grade. must be a kick pushin those blocks uphill.Anyways nice job. BILL
I like how you placed that curved pipe under the coupler to make it look like a model. Almost had me fooled...
Dave
Just be glad you don't have to press "2" for English.
