PC: Great shots! My sister was close to winning tickets to ride the thing across the US and back.
My parents purchased a Keurig Coffie pot for my dads birthday a few days ago. This is what it looks like:
You pulll the shiny handle up, put a K-cup in, Which looks looks this:
Pull the handle down, put your cup under the spout, and hit brew. It makes great coffee, tea, and hot coca in under 20 seconds.. I suggest trying one. (I would not buy unless you have found your front lawn was made of silver, or you are willing to part with a $200 locomotive) Here's a link anyway.
See Yall!
Good Morning All...Its sunny and 68 here...I'll have toast and coffee please...thank you..Got started on a scratch build of the house I grew up in..trying to build from what I remeber...You all have a good day...Jerry
Good morning. Its about time for bed. I had to stay over and do a switching test. Now I can switch yard trailers. Not yet, but next week.
I'm in a good mood............The Steelers play tonight!!!!! They take on the Titans . My Cubs are out of it and the local boys *cough* Pirates *cough*, have been out of it for the last 17 years.
Barry.....I really enjoy the shots.
Jim......I think my one tooth knows it will be getting fixed next week. Since the dentist visit, its been hurting.
I guess I will hit the bed. I will pop back in later.
"Rust, whats not to love?"
jeffrey-wimberly We got 1.5 inches of rain yesterday according to the rain gauge. The power out here has gone off 3 times in last 90 minutes. The power company says they're working on something and it shouldn't take much longer. I seem to remember a comment like that just before the New York blackout back in the 60's.

SSSHH!!! Hush!! ---up here we went through a blackout just a few years ago like that--don't need another one
Hello..
I'll have coffee to go.
Briefly, we delayed a trip to Michigan because of the funeral. We leave this morning. It will be a short trip, and I will not have time to visit with Duke or go to the LHS I'm sorry to say...
Funeral had lots of people. About 400 families signed the guest book for visitation Tuesday evening and funeral yesteday was packed. For a lightly populated area, the attendence was impressive. I did speak at Diane's funeral as Wayne requested, and my message essentually was to praise the Lord for sharing Diane with us.
I hope I can catch up with your posts when in MI.....

---cough cough gack!! She has an Acer compooter with a lot of issues---I have a DELL laptop which has yet to give me issues----and yes, you are a poet lauriate------BTW--now you got me thinking about doing the same with my layout--skirting----
PC- I saw that train just the other day!!!! Oddly enough I don't recall the whole thing and I got just a quick gance. I forgot all about it until you said somehing. (I've got recall, I really do. It's just not instant) I don't live near the tracks so when I'm uptown is the only time I see them. Usually I don't look up much for Amtrak whistles. Lately however,I've been noticing far more Amtraks pushing the train than I've noticed before. I think that's why I thought I saw a F40PH pulling because it was night and in front and like I said, I don't always look at the whole Amtrak. A couple of days ago(during the day) I saw the repeat performance and kept looking and yup there was a loco pushing. Anyway, I was leaving the Village hall after a meeting and I was walking parallel to the tracks and the train came from behind and I looked up just to catch a glance and say "what the heck was that?????." 10 minutes later. I forgot.
Aw shucks Ray, the flash doesn't cause any problems with me. I couldn't however look at the picture too long without wanting to flip all the cool toggle switches the same way. UP or DOWN man, UP or DOWN!!

Mornin' everyone!
Just popin' in to say HI! As my son is on his way over to pick me up. Emily has a Drs. appt. this morning so I get to watch Olivia while Emily sees the doc.
Chloe just coffee in a FGLK mug for me, thank you.
So Barry, she has a shell in her Dell that is a DLL??? Oooo I'm a poet and don't know it. I think I'll hang on to my Mac.......
Jeffrey I hope you are healing up well and can soon be back to all your normal stuff.......
Thanks for the comments on the skirting, the flash photos don't do it justice. Didn't have time to set up and do shot the right way.
Art should be arriving soon so i best get ready to go.

We'll get there sooner or later!
Good morning. Coffee and a couple glazed donuts please. Thank you. Partly cloudy with a high of 83 F today. Again a 20% chance of rain. Currently it's 64 with 94% humidity
Barry- I got a chuckle from your DLL definition. I had all sorts of combinations flowing through my head. I was not at all thinking in the right direction.
Jeff- Glad the bleeding stopped. Odd you would get the sinus infection at all. I'd think by taking antibiotics before the operation and after, the little buggers wouldn't have had a chance to start. Unless of course, you have sinuses like mine. Doctors used to say "that should have worked". I learned a lesson the hard way on Vick's Sinex (the old original green cap stuff before they took it off the market) years ago and am still paying for it. Though not quite as bad thank goodness.
Today is Mom day. I must go to the grocery store for her and then she insists on paying me for my trouble by taking me to lunch somewhere. She likes buffets and Denny's so I'm usually full and sleepy by the time I have to work at 5pm. I've got a wee bit of time so I may go downstairs and stare at my empire.
Have a Great Day!!!
Phil: Great shots!! Both of the bike--which looks OLD!--and the Disney Special--- Now if only----
Mornin' All!
So, I was puttin' around last evening and rolled into this little hole in the wall town and saw the coolest bobber in front of this bar. Check it out! (I know.....it's not a Kawi, but it's cool anyways, right?)
Now, while that was a cool aside, that wasn't the main reason I found myself in Bargersville, Indiana last night. Nope, I was there to photograph a train that I'll bet none of you have ever seen, if you even knew it existed. It's the Walt Disney train! It's starting to tour the U.S. to promote the new "A Christmas Carol" movie that will be coming out later this year. You can tour the train and they will even scan your face and turn you into a computer generated movie character! The paintwork on the train was unbelievable! It was so intricate and detailed. I'm afraid my pics don't do it justice. The sun was setting, so they're a bit dark. But anyways, without further adue, I give you, "The Disney Train"!
The train will be in Louisville, KY. today.
Good Morning
We got the mix of sun/cloud today as well as for tomorrow--highs in the low to mid 20'sC and lows around 12C.
Going to be a little slow today--trestle building will do that I guess Have a bit of work this afternoon to do but other than that not much else----
Chloe, I'll have a toasted whole wheat bagel with herbed creamcheese and a coffee please---I'll be at the RC watching the place wake up
Good morning. It's 71 and partly cloudy. The high will be around the mid 80's and there's a chance of rain.I don't know yet how much rain we got yesterday. It was coming down thick and heavy for over an hour. The bleeding from my foot has stopped finally. Tuesday it was bleeding pretty badly and I had to change the dressing several times. Yesterday it was nowhere near as bad and I had to change the dressing only once. This morning there's no sign of bleeding. The trick now is to make sure I don't rip the stitches out. No layout work to speak of yesterday.Today's Weather for:Sundown, LA 71446-6114 9/10/2009Heat Index: 77°FHumidity: 94%Dew Point: 70°FSo Far TodayHigh: 73°FLow: 71°FRain: 0.00"Rain Rate: 0.00"/hGust: 0mph NNEToday High: 88 A 70 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. JimRCGMOHope you're still not feeling much pain, Jeff. Keeping off that foot, anyway? Get rid of that sinus infection ASAP, too.
TMarshBarry- I'm DLL?
She is having computer issues ---DLL's are the 'shells' that are supposed to be used to help the programs run--or summat. Her malware/spyware detector is finding all kinds of shells with nothing in them-----
JimRC: I wouldn't be surprised--LOL!! I'm kind of thinking about doing one of those dioramic sorts of things with one mill near Hensall ON----the one with what looks like a mass of grain bins and stuff----
Piece of custard pie please.

Chris- 3 coats. Could probably use 4 but when I paint the sky and use a backdrop It should be just fine. Mental note, Never paint a wall red.
Ray- Skirting looks nice. I should do that sooner than later. Would clean the room up a bit.
Leave it to Ryan to figure out how to get "b"'s in the conversation. OW! Chloe, I was talking about chickens. He is a chef you know.
Barry- I'm DLL?
blownout cylinderand then there is this that I do not think will work out in N scale too well-----
Aw, Barry - you know now, DerJohn's got the inspiration for his next scratchbuilding project to w**k on...

All those pipes---YIKES!
Good Evening, Chloe - nope, just was too busy the last couple of evenings to stop by. Now I'm past the busy part of the weekday evenings... Oh, yeah - I'll have an oatmeal raisin cookie and some coffee in a Santa Fe mug, please 'n' thankyouma'am.
Anybody heard from Ulrich lately - email or otherwise? Just wondering how he's doing.
jeffrey-wimberlyand I'm feeling really good right now due to the fact the anesthetic hasn't completely worn off yet.
Hope you're still not feeling much pain, Jeff. Keeping off that foot, anyway? Get rid of that sinus infection ASAP, too.
Robby - I wouldn't mind finding a dentist like yours, who's been around a while but doesn't always have to use the newest gizmos (and make the patients pay for it all). I have two back wisdom teeth that need pulling (they have been pushing on the others and have the front ones a bit offset, but otherwise not hurting). I was blessed with hard enamel since I was young, and have avoided a lot of dental problems.
Ray, I'd be... uh, surprised.. if I went to buy some cloth and it rang up that kind of total! Back around the start of this summer, I went by a fabric store to get some 'fake fur' (for making field grass later). Didn't even hardly need more than about a foot, since the material was fairly wide. The skirt on the layout looks good (and doesn't attract attention to itself, which is good).
Sawyer - yeah, chilling out sounds good (and what Robby suggested). Should help your w**k on your layout, as well.
Barry - twenty hoppers for $20?? Did you wear a mask when you bought them? That's outstanding on the price; two-bay or three- bay? Heck, even if they were only ore cars, that'd be one great price.
NS Joe, best wishes on a great year, since your schedule looks pretty busy there.
Flip, I was wondering (along with the rest of us Diners) about your phone call. Sorry to hear about your cousin's passing. As you said, best to stay in touch and enjoy loved ones while they/we're here. Keeping you and Deb and the rest of the family in
Lee - thanks for the heads-up on the time left to get my Christmas list ready (and to hunt down those cards, right Todd?). I guess our stores must be running slow here - they just have the Halloween stuff up yet. Probably will get the 'Holiday' items out by the weekend, I'd guess...
Hey guys, I heard Chloe muttering something to Vinnie as I came in about "...bunch of over-grown junior high boys..." (or something close to that, didn't catch all of it, as she was muttering kind of low about getting the cast iron skillet or some such...
Paul - free is pretty much always good, IMHO...
Jerry, getting that new chair for you sure seems to be dragging out a bit. Hope they get 'around tuit' a lot quicker than so far.
Hey, Chris, I could look around my place and see if I have that 'breakup' T-shirt. Shouldn't take too much to slip it into a box and get it on the way to you... And I thought that 'Devious and simple' applied a lot of the time to women... (OUCH! Now, Chloe, why did you go and do that? I wasn't talking about any of the ladies in the Diner here, you know I wasn't, really!)
to the Diner, Philly Bill. I was out the past day or two, so almost missed you. Have a cup on me, please. Chloe, fill the man's mug on me, thanks.
I got a tack hammer last night at Sears for nailing down track - the head's a good size to fit between the rails without hitting the rails when I'm trying to get the spikes. Now I just need to find the track snippers...
Almost time for me to head for home, after all this talking I've been doing. I figure I'll probably also get the TOP honors and get to cover the midnight snack and morning tab, but what the heck - it's just after payday, right? Well, I lucked out, and Ray beat me to the TOP - thanks! Hey Ray, can you post some details of how you finally fastened the fabric for those skirts to the layout (for those who can stand some help and directions, like myself...)?
Prayers for those healing up, in need of comfort, and those we haven't seen in the Diner for a while, as well.
Blessings,
Evenin' folks!
First Board of Deacons tonight for the year..... Had a good meeting. When I got home I finished up the 3rd. Skirting panel I made today and got it on the layout. A before from "early this morning" (that means about 1PM.....):
And a couple showing the progress made this afternoon and evening.
Uh........... Thought I heard a Berkshire..... Oh, Hi Duke!
Sawyer, women are like that. They never seem to make up their minds...... My late wife used to have a plaque that said, "It's too late to agree with me, I changed my mind!" When the "right" one comes along, you'll know. Best to just chill and play the field for a while.
"I'll toss in my all-time favorite: the Farmall M." Chris that is a workhorse for sure! Still a lot of them out their earning their keep.
blownout cylinderChloe, I'll have a RBF and a SRP please---I'll be at the RC for a bit
I'll have what Barry is having and join him at the Rivet Counter. You have an Ad Hoc section giving you trouble? Only time I ever have trouble with them is in committees........ Now Ad Lib I'm good at especially singing scat!
Hope everyone has a great evening!
Good Evening--
Philly Bill!
I'm getting some more of those trestles done and We also put down some rail near the valley where the trestle will go---sheeesh, talk about teeensie ties and nails. I'm still trying to figure out the radius for the one side of the bridge yet----as this section appears to be almost ad-hoc
Chloe, I'll have a RBF and a SRP please---I'll be at the RC for a bit
Paul, you're gonna love that HD! We switched to DirectTV and HD almost 2 years back and never regretted it. (Xmas time seemed good for a new 42" flatscreen.
Really, given the investment in an HD TV, it's kind of a waste not to have the signal to get the best benefit out of it.
(When our son was home over the summer, he could play Blu-Ray disks in true 1080p resolution. WOW!)
We got some really bad thunderstorms today. The chance of rain was 40%. We got our 40% plus a couple hundred % belonging to somebody else. Now who's the smart alek who sent me THEIR rain!Found out what the fever is all about. I have a sinus infection. Lovely. Just what I need right now. NOT!
Chris....Its 100%. No pain at all. I also think the supervisors enjoy that.

Good evening everybody, Chloe? is my seat at the Rivet Counter still here? Or did somebody swipe it since I haven't been around much lately? Oh...there it is. Allrighty then....a double bacon cheeseburger with a plate of fries and a bucket of Coke please 'n thankyou.
Well, after looking through dozens of pages, I think I'm "up to speed" on everything that's been going on around here lately.
JEFF: Glad the surgery went well...now we'll see if you can behave yourself in the recovery...
SAWYER: I guess congratulations are in order, through the pain, on being single again. Hey, if she kicked you loose...you're probably better off. But, at the same time, I know all too well the pain that kinda situation can bring. I think it's safe to say we've all "been-there, done-that." I don't have a T-shirt for it though.
FLIP: Sorry to hear about your cousin... I can't imagine the pain you're going through. Your words of wisdom regarding our loved ones are so true...never hurts to reinforce our thoughts towards 'em.
TODD: Good to see the psychodillic wall paint going away...how many coats of Kilz did you need??? "One coat coverage" usually isn't, at least in my experience here in "the Rainbow House."
RAY, BARRY, RYAN, Der JOHN; good to see you guys.
ROBBY P: Haven't heard anything more on your wrist...hope it's settled down/not bugging you too badly these days.
JERRY: Glad they finally got your new chair OK'd. Hoveround was about the only sponser for the local RTN (Retro TV Network) channel for what seemed an eternity. I've got their ad jingle seared into my memory...
I saw where somebody was reciting the favorite sayings of wives: they sounded all too familiar.... A lady I used to be associated with had a different one: "How much do you love me??..." which 99.99999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999% of the time was the preface to a "honey-do" task of some sort...usually involving much expenditure of a) money, b) physical labor, and/or c) BOTH. I should add she always asked it with her big green eyes sparkling, and a certain "I'm too sweet for my own good" smile. Devious...pure and simple.
Chloe? ya got anything stronger back behind the counter?????
W**k has kept me busy lately, part of why I haven't been in much other than quick visits to the take-out window. I'm finally getting to cover some sports again...that's how I started out in the newspaper world back at the first weekly. The school district I cover has a new football/track stadium. It is incredible...especially for a high school. The turf is some kinda astroturf stuff...wow. I want to cover my yard in it. Their home opener was last Friday, with fireworks following the game. I am even more impressed with the NIKON D-90. It got shots that just simply should NOT have worked!!!! THAT editor will be most pleased, I'm sure!
You guys were talkin' tractors not long ago...I covered a tractor ride a Presbyterian Church put together two weeks ago...all vintage stuff. I think the newest one there was a mid-70's IH. Several vintage Oliver and Allis Chalmers machines also in attendance. I'll toss in my all-time favorite: the Farmall M.
I guess I've occupied the floor long enough, I know I missed mentioning several Diners, not deliberately, just too darn much going on in here to comment on everything.
Chris
Oh yeah, I was gonna ask, did anybody else (beside me) take advantage of Atlas' sale today??

Afternoon everyone!
Flo, I'll have what Ryan had this morning (sounds good!) with a cup of dark roast coffee in a FGLK mug.
Drove over to Seneca Falls (the real one) and got my hair cut (actually, I had all of them cut...) and delivered some brochures for the upcoming Catholic Scout Retreat to the Scout office to be handed out at Roundtable tonight. A Scouting friend dropped them off to me last Thursday and this is the first time I have had a chance to get them to the office.
Fairly nice day here in the Finger Lakes. Currently 74°F with a high of 73°F. Yep! That's what weather.com says.... 66% humidity and no wind. Have some windows open and a couple of fans w**king to keep the house comfortable. I'd put the air conditioners away for the season, but that would make a hot spell apear out of nowhere for the next month or so....
Hopefully I should get a few more panels done for the layout skirting before I have to head out for Deacons tonight.
Catch you all later!
