CNJ831, Another beautiful example of your great urban railroading work! I get a lot of inspiration from you. Please continue to post pics when you can. Capt. G.

A scratchbuilt engine house I've been working on. O scale. Still needs some more roofing as well as interior details. The barely visible track is handlaid N scale rail, code 80.

I spent last weekend building this. Also O scale, also scratchbuilt, also needs some more details, primarily nuts and bolts.

I also learned that I'm capable of writing code for a website, with pictures and videos, but putting pictures up here is beyond me. I posted the [img] code, hit enter, and still the pictures are tiny, but clickable, so I guess that's alright.

Lee:
1.  You rock
2.  You have waaaaaaaaayyyyyy too much time on yr hands
3.  That was awesome!  Great to see the layout in motion!
4.  You still need Ringo Starr to voiceover the story of how you, too, can be a very useful engine.
(And thanks for switchers! my favorite's always been Salty...)

Cheers!

Thanks to all who commented on my pics.  I've seen some very inspiring work on here by so many people.  Roll on next weekend!

Wow what a lineup of photos! Congrats to all.

This is my attempt with water putty and acrylics  to show sand spills and grime buildup where my sand towers and diesel fuel are planned

and a view across the line around the back

  Keep those photos coming.

Mike - That is terrific modeling.  Can you give us some details about the bare trees and the figures?  Thanks!

  Thanks Harry

The figures are by Preiser. I bought a pack of about 120 unpainted. I use acrylics to paint them.

The trees are a real mix.   The pines are bottlebrush style - twisted wire with strands of sisal rope inserted between the wires. Painted dark brown and Heki foliage glued on.

Bare trees [apart from one garden twig near the pine in the 2nd photo] are twisted wire frames with sisal rope fibres painted grey and teased out into branches before being glued on.

The sisal fibres remain quite limp but they're tough too.

Trackside twiggy bushes are painted coconut fibres from hanging basket liner.

 I hope that helps.
