Good Evening Coffee Clubbers,

As promised (for once) I’m back, and I intend to get caught up so that I can at least start tomorrow with a clean slate, (if not a clean conscience).

QUOTE: TurboOne:
… It is getting cooler and cooler out here. Last week in the beginning, 85-88. Tail end of week and this weekend, 75. This week is supposed to be in the 60s, with more rain…
Yeah, I know just how you feel. Sounds like the weather down here too. Wife made me turn off the overhead fan in our bedroom last night. Stiff upper lip, Tim. Soldier on. Take one for the whole Coffee Shop Team.

QUOTE: Brian:
…we are expecting rain again starting tomorrow, and it may last for 3 or more days…
You too, Brian. Muddle through. That's the good chap. The guys on the front lines up north will appreciate knowing you're suffering with them.

QUOTE: grayfox:
Pats don't need any SB'rs, remember the field down in Foxboro a couple of years ago?
Even I have to admit that it was a great game and a great field goal. Don’t think we’ll have a repeat of those field conditions in Jacksonville.

Nice snowfall, Fergie. Got yourself a few cm’s there, I’ll wager. Is your house the grey one?

QUOTE: (CG)Jim:
… by weird scales, I assume you mean Zimpossible???...
By “weird” I mean anything that’s not Normal!

QUOTE: Luc:
… The CFO has an MD appointment in the am and I have a specialist one in the pm both require that I get across the bridge to Halifax….
Drive carefully. Hope the wife’s condition improves.

John, are you serious??? An N scale snow blower? How did you come up with that? Neat work, btw.

Okay, think that about gets me up to date. I’m going to call it a night too.

Hasta mañana,

Ed

Eigref. Nice job on the ice sicles. Would you tell me how what you used to make them? Now don't tell me they are real.

Not much going on here. Did another ten hour day so I may have a few bucks for the GATS in Feb.

I'm going to hit the showers and than the bed.

G' Night all

Zoe, I'll have what ever it was CapeJim was having. I'm not sure what it was, but it sounded good[yum]

Found out some more about "Bob's your uncle" According to the place mats in the Fairwinds Motel Restaurant inSheet Harbour (not the world's most reliable source) in 1886 or so Arthur Balfour was made First Secretary for Scotland by the Prime Minister of Great Britain, Robert, Lord Salisbury. Arthur just happened to be Lord Robert's nephew! Hence the saying about political preferment..."Bob's your uncle". That's from memory and the exact name of t he nephew may not be right, or the date. But it's close.[:D]

***: The snow clearing went great. We now preheat the carburator, and she firres up first go[^] We had about 45 cm, but the drifting was the thing. I don't have a drift cutter, and really could have used one on the one in front of the garage. Things went so well that there has been time today to do a little modelling, and this SB has a cutter!

That's in Normal so it's easy to see[(-D]

Evening all.

Work was closed today by order no less. This is the first time in 7 years that the center closed, we even remained open during huricane Juan.

So I finished the funeral home. Got an account with Railimage.com all I have to do is work some more with the toy camera and see if I can get some pics. I tried to get the track plan uploaded but I needed to change the format and when attempting to do that I erased the file. So back to the drawing board.....

I'm off tommorrow, The CFO has an MD appointment in the am and I have a specialist one in the pm both require that I get across the bridge to Halifax.

Here is a groanner, really bad..... don't read it!!!!!

He walks in the train station/depot and ask for a return ticket, the teller asked "Where to?" he replied "back here"

Warned you.... [:-^][:-^][:-^]

Bob - Thanks for hints, I'll study this before getting on with the refinery. The kit has 3 buildings, I plan on this being the focus of the town. BTW nice work on that bridge.[tup][tup]

Fergie - I recognise the face, I think we might have met at a scouting thing, perhaps camp Harris a few years a go. Now the bill for the winning prize should be going to Elliot and don't forget to add one environmetally friendly snow removal machine. [;)][}:)][:D][:D][:D]

John - The next system is following the jet streams and should pass us well out to sea. Got your e-mail and loaded the pic on the GLOETOWN website. I've been trying to figure out how to get it on here.

Mitch - Once again great work. There does not seemed to be any end to your talents.

2 Fergi, are you really in N.S.? Passed a blue ford p/u with Ontario license plate-
FERGI K No, it can't be our Fergi. I did do a double take when I saw it.

Time to shower and get ready for bed. Good night all. Stay warm and well.

One more thing!

Teffy (or anyone) - do you have a copy of the Timesaver article from MRR? Our library only goes back a couple or three years on their MRR selection. I've seen some diagrams of the Timesaver, but haven't seen an explanation of how it's supposed to be worked.

Evening, Coffee Clubbers!

Zoe, I'll have a mocha frappacino (with some of that snow that our Canadian Clubbers brought in with them)[:)]

Ed, by weird scales, I assume you mean Zimpossible???[}:)][;)] And thanks for the info on how to tell the number of a post.[:)]

Still about 40 F (4.5 C) now (around dinnertime), so it may not get as cold tonight. Hope our Frozen Troop up NS way doesn't get the sNoah threatened/promised on Wednesday.

Fergie, I see you have the escape hatch (aka windows on your second floor) on your home! So, did you use the road grader or the bulldozer to clear the driveway? (And Fergie spelled backwards is Eigref)[;)][:P]

Got a group to facilitate tonight (and stuff to prepare for it), so I'll take my frappacino to go, Zoe.

Blessings (and no sNoah) on your evening endeavors,

It's kind of one of those "Milennium" things, as to whether the big celebration should have been 31 Dec 1999 or 31 Dec 2000 as the start of the new "Milennium" since they didn't start counting the first year as year 0.

Greg, you could use plate girders (or deck) possibly. Any other suggestions for Greg?

And are you emailing from class, Greg? Now that's dedication [8D] (so long as you don't get detention for MRR stuff, that might not be too wonderful)!

If that 44 tonner is still out there, I’d be willing to take it off your hands, I need to get one to represent the 44 tonner the WSOR had for a while. I would really, really appreciate it. In fact, I can always use stuff, I usually like to have stuff on hand for the ARK if I ever decide to paint an engine or something in that scheme. Just e-mail me.

Well, I have to get going, I’ve got a lot of homework tonight. I also would like (It’ll never happen) to work on the layout tonight.

Good Afternoon Coffee Clubbers,

Well now that the excitement over Teffy grabbing the big 5000 has died down, we can get back to business as usual here, whatever that is. I’m even trying to catch up a bit on back posts. I’ll try and get in a few comments now before my, yawn, nap.

Overcast, cool, and a slight drizzle down here today. No shorts, no golf, no harvesting oranges, …….. poor Ed. (Okay, let’s hear that chorus, all together now……)

I’m glad that it seems that all of you guys made it through the storm with nothing more than a lot of snow to shovel.

The FCVN did get another shipment out last night, boxcar full of good coffee from Coatepec here in Veracruz, a reefer full of oranges, and another tank car with fresh squeezed orange juice. How much of that stuff actually makes it as far as Fergie/John/Luc depends on how much gets siphoned off by the coffee shop patrons (and Zoe) down south.

QUOTE: JP:
We've been heading this way for about 6 months now and we've been talking about it and have told each other that it will not be a 'nasty' one.
I think that’s about the best you can hope for. Good luck. Hopefully you’re getting your legal and marital advice somewhere other than here, but we’re always here to talk to. Model railroaders have to stick together, even if they do model in weird scales.

How do y'all tell what number the post is anyway?

Since a couple of you asked, it ('number of replies') shows up on the forum index page, along with 'number of views' and 'last post'. So if you were one of us who were trying to score the big one, the idea was to have the index open in one browser window that you continually refreshed to get the latest count. Plus you’d see that a new post by anyone would then show as 4997 or 5002 and you could count forward or back from there to determine #5000. At least that's how I did it.

Actually, now that I'm actually explaining it in print, it occurs to me that Teffy had the 5000th "reply", but I had the post just before him. That post, while being "reply" #4999, was actually the 5000th post (the first post in any thread shows as 0, since the system is counting replies).

Good afternoon gents, a beautiful day here in central Mass., 18F balmy degrees, not much wind, partly cloudy skies, snow everywhere......but the kids all had school today, no "girlie men" here,as they say in California (Arnold, right?) The Boston schools are closed though, for two days. We only received 24 inches of snow, Boston received 26, so they need two days off, they're not as prepared to deal with the heavy snow as us country folk up in them thar hills of central Mass in indian country.

John, don't worry about Wednesday's Clipper, no repeat of Sunday's big storm, not enough energy and support for this one. Only 1 or 2 inches, a nothing storm. We do have something on the horizon next Sunday off the Carolinas that might get interesting, stay tuned on this one.......Fergie might be out to sea when this one blows up the coast though.

Tim, you give us hopes of the future with 70's and 80's, it is always nice to know that it is coming soon, by the end of February, we will be ready to say goodbye to Winter here. More rain coming to California this week Tim, so hopefully no more landslides.

Bob, Pats don't need any SB'rs, remember the field down in Foxboro a couple of years ago? The Pats are an OUTSIDE FB team, they THRIVE in the snow, DON'T CLEAR THE FIELDS !!!!!! However, the Eagles are a northern outside team also, a little further south than us, a little warmer, but we should prevail!!!

John, how did your SB handle the drifts? I haven't heard any snow totals from NS yet, how much did you guys get ?? I mounted my drift busters on the front of my SB and was glad that I did. I had to bust through 6 foot drifts to get to the wolf, and that was weird leaving a tunnel effect with either side of the cleared path over 5 to 6 feet tall of overhanging snow!!

Mitch, thanks for hot chocolate with marshmellows floating on top, very nice, thank you buddy, sure tastes good on a cold winter's day....California dreamin, on such a winters day......... I only sang one verse, the dogs outside the coffee shop started to howl, damn, they don't appeciate good music do they Mitch ?

See you guys later, time to get to work in the train room construction area,

Good morning all. It is getting cooler and cooler out here. Last week in the beginning, 85-88. Tail end of week and this weekend, 75. This week is suppossed to be in the 60s, with more rain, fortunately not 7 ". That means when it goes through us and heads to the mid west, more snow for you. Sorry guys, we tried to send some sun your way, just got stuck in the rockies.

Mitchell, you are serving, so I will take two fried strawberry and blueberry smoothies please.

Have a great day all.

QUOTE: Fergie/John - Once this one "blows" over, we should be clear for a few days but, one must remember that this is Nova Scotia and like the saying goes "If you don't like the weather, wait 5 minutes".

That's really good news, because the local rumour is another one of these on Wednesday! About 1 1/2 x as much had blown in over the cleared back deck and steps, so getting to Rosie-the-dog this a.m. was more pure joy[V] We'll have to wait for this to clear this p.m. before trying to get out to the SB. No point starting anything just yet.

Bob: Good looking bridge. I toyed with the idea of building one of those for my layout in Campbell River. Never did, and kind of regret it. No place to put one on the MT, and wrong era now. [sigh]
Can't shed any more light on the gallery/albums thing than Ed has. You could ask Trainboard.com if you are really curious. In the mean time it's just something to remember like the difference between a switch and a turnout. [(-D]

Got to get off line to phone the endocrinologist in Halifax. Have an appointment tomorrow that was set a year ago. don't think we are going to make it, even if their parking lot is cleared!

Good Morning All:

Did you yankees watch Good Morning America today? They had a piece on how to shovel your driveway. I watched it with great interest as I may have to shovel some snoah in the next twenty years.

***:
You want the Pats to win the SB? I guess they could use a Snoah Blower as they are from New England. I hope the one that they win is better then the one that John has.

John:
Just thinking about your SB, look at how much money you're saving on gasoline when it wont start.

Fergie:
How did we get off the phone so fast?

Not much to talk about today, I did it all yesterday.

Ya'll have a blessed day and remember SANTA FE ALL THE WAY
