Hunter - When we met in January of 2000, you were just a 6 week old pup who walked his way into this heart of mine as the only runt in the litter who would come over to me. And today, I sit here and tell you I am sorry we had to put you down. It was the best thing for you and also the right thing to do. May you now rest in peace and comfort. Love, Dad. 8 June 2010

I love you and miss you Mom. Say hi to everyone up there for me. Rest in peace and comfort. Love, John. 29 March 2017

Afternoon all, how bout a fish sandwich with cheese, tater sauce, and a glass of ice tea [unsweetened], Zoe.
Didn’t make it in fur breakfast, had other things going outside. Nothin going on here at home, just some chores

NESU , sorry to hear of the passing of ceobayline, and now the burthen of Nesu, I guess. But the later is easier on stiff fingers.

Paul , glad all the tire repair cost was 12.50. It cost me that last summer to fix the back tire on the riding mower sidewall, but a new one was $35.

Nigel , like your layout pics. My wiring never looked that good.

OZ Jim , never could understand all the rules for Rugby, but it looks like fun. Think I’ll stay with football here.

Flip , howed ya come through Alberto, OK I hope. I see Ryan has him as a guest now.

Had some pics sent to me in my Email, I thought some of you might enjoy. Here’s a couple for the die-hard bikers out there,

Hey PC , how bout some toast n eggs outdoors

Then we can play horseshoes,

Need to get back ta chores. I do have some train photos to post, but ya’ll know how it is

Just waiting between jobs for the next one to show up.
Jessie - if your cousin played Carnegie Hall that's pretty top shelf. Did he/she play with a group or orchestra or what - nosey people (like me) would like to know.

Inch - the first pic gives new meaning to the term chopper. Where do you find that stuff?

Chuck - don't feel bad about everyone leaving when you arrive I get the same thing all the time. Perhaps a change of deoderant brands would help?

Well all for now and back to work. CUL,J.R.

HOW TO INSTALL A REDNECK'S HOME SECURITY SYSTEM

1. Go to a second-hand store and buy a pair of men's used size 14-16 work boots.

2. Place them on your front porch, along with a copy of Guns and Ammo and your NRA magazines.

3. Put a giant dog dish next to the boots and magazine.

4. Leave a note on your door that reads; "Hey Bubba - Big Mike , Slim , Tiny and I went for more ammunition. Back in an hour.
Don't mess with the Pitbulls. They attacked the mailman this morning and messed him up pretty bad. I don't think Killer took part in it but I locked all four of them in the house. Better wait outside"

Hey chole I see its empty in here tonight I'll have the pot dinner surprise I hear its either beef or chicken tonight I'll have the beef thank-you

Evening All: I got started on clearing the brush and trees over hanging the UPs right of way by our crossing. I'll have to get my sons gas pole trimer to get any further. Most of the cutting that needs to be done is too high to reach with the chain saw. A UP freight snuck up on me while I was working but since I was down by the fence it wasn't a problem. I have contacted the UP about having someone watch my back while I mow. Someone is supposed to get in touch with me.

My son John has just about finished the overhaul of the steam locomotive. It will be ready for a run soon.

Not much else going on so I'll head out.

Good Night All

Good Morning All,
Coffee and a blueberry bagel please Zoe. Saw slides of the Durango and Silverton railway last night along with the 50th anniversary tape of the Pioneer Valley Live Steamers facility in Mass. Impressive stuff, wish I had the time and patience to do that. Apparantly they now have 1700 feet of track with overpasses, trestles and a tunnel. The interviews where the locomotives were built were impressive.
Off to Watkins Glen tomorrow early. I may be able to leave early if all goes well as the one customer 'm going for wants to maintain his own car and I'm all for that. If I do get to come back early I'll go over to the museum and help out with the show. Turns out Metro North is also working on the loop track between the museum and our yard and want to tear out the pedestrian crossing just in time for the shows. That should be fun. Tons of time and money invested in the show and no way to get the public to it. Left our pres to work it out last night, but he was not a happy camper at all.

Jerry - didn't the doc tell you spam was off your diet? Hope your missus gets some help at the doctors today - that dialysis stuff sound potentially serious. Can you get a copy of the instructions off the web for your building? Just a thought.

Paul - watch your back. I think if a freight "snuck up" on me it would take a decade off my life. I don't suppose they would consider giving you a short term schedule would they?

All for now - time to pick up tools. Hope y'all have a "guden" (did I get that right Mike?)

Not much going on today, Leroy n Kc will be here. Spent yesterday working outside. Fairs going alright, I didn’t get too any of the horse races, runners was last night, Mother said there was some good ones. Rides start up tonight; don’t remember what else is going on.

JR , friends Email me stuff, and if they’re goodens, I try to share
QUOTE: Hope y'all have a "guden" (did I get that right Mike?)

Close enough.

Paul , when I got a job cutting brush along the right-of –way on the track from Paris to Danville. We always had a watcher, but with 4 chain saws running, they could still sneak up on us once in a while.

RT , I believe that security system could just about do the trick.

Jerry , didn’t have any trouble with the new Spam blocker, but I haven’t messed with it yet. Hope Sally gets a good report back from the docs.

Need to get ta kids n chores, thoughts n prayers for all in need

Game 6 of the Stanley Cup finals will be Saturday night, Edmonton Oilers scored a goal in overtime to take the series back to their home, and the score was tied 3-3 at the end of regulation. The Hurricanes lead the series 3 games to 2.

These late nights of watching games that end around 11:30 PM are starting to take the toll on my brain! I just want to go back to sleep!!!!!

An Amtrak passenger train collided with a flatbed truck near Paradis in St. Charles Parish in Louisiana yesterday. It is unclear at this time what caused the accident or how severe the passengers were injured. Here are some photos that I found from the Times-Picayune newspaper web site.

Emergency crews had to take several passengers to a local hospital due to injury:

Damage to the front locomotive being inspected for leaks:

Equipment that was on the flatbed of the 18 wheeler found near the road:

PC, You got that right! The sun is finally showing today! My rain gauge reads up to 4 inches, and it was topped well before the rain ended yesterday. It is still full today, and I need to dump it out for the next rain fall. Some areas around here reported over 6 inches of rain yesterday.

Flip , howed ya come through Alberto, OK I hope. I see Ryan has him as a guest now.

Inch, Yep! Alberto came for the day and left yesterday late afternoon, but brought some baggage and forgot to take it with him!!!!

Hey RT, I like that security system! Reminds me of the bumper sticker seen often, it reads: “This vehicle protected by Smith & Wesson.”

Cheers,

Ryan

Wow, has anyone noticed that the coffee shop has gone distinctly "hilljack" lately?

Just a Moxie to get me goin' this morning Flo, thanks!

Now I'm all for the "down home" feel and all, but I'm afeared that maybe this is gettin' a might outa hand round here. If'n yall want ta persist in this kinda behaviour we best be makin' real sure that we don't all the way over th edge and that our family trees continue to fork n all. I also was athinkin' that maybe we all should git ta renamin' rselves wit summore proper like names and all. What we need round here are some Billy-Bob's, Jasper's, Horace's, and some Elmer's. What y'all thinkin"? Should we put er to a vote? All fer it, shout "Yeeeee Haaawwwwww!"

Good morning everyone. Gals, if I could have a tall cup of coffee, please.[;)] And it looks like that'll be on PC's tab. Thanks![:D]

Nigel: Man, what a great start to a layout. That veranda turbine, it's a Lionel unit, isn't it? How's that run for you? It's sure a purdy model, but I've heard that they aren't all that great when it comes to pulling and running. What do you think of it?

So y'all, how do you like the new signature picture? It might be a bit big though...But nothing a little resizing won't fix.[^]

Hi Clubbers- Just a short in and out.
Played 'phone tag with Duke. He spoke with Deb, and MAY call back. Heck of a way for Fla. to greet a tourist. Could have been a worse storm. The rain put out 18 fires but there are still 150 going strong.
I'm between clients, on my lunch break. Yeah, lunch at 9:05 a.m.!

Neal/Nigel- Can't remember, went to fast thru pictures- Beautiful work. Wiring is art in itsself. Layout looks great. Enjoy!!!
Thats it. Have to go .

Well not much on the go on the MR scene as it's been absolute nuts here. Lots of rain today as "Alberto" is rushing by and will leave us with another 3" of rain. The ship is scheduled to sail next Friday and I'm making ground very slowly but above water.

***: The National Geographic Weather station was back in stock and on sale. So when I get off I'll be on the roof hooking it up. Though I would have gotten good results today (The ship is rocking at the dock)

Paul: Got the Tsunami installed in the 2-10-2 and it was well worth it! Not a hard install as compared with others.

Well I gotta run
