Good evening all...

Today I saw something i'll never ever forget, playing cricket today, all was going well, when our attention turned away from the action in the middle, to one of our players, He had a fatal hear attack and passed away at 2:22pm, He was only 49. Too young. Play was abandoned out of respect, and paramedics tried to revive him for over forty minutes, to no avail, they said he went peacefully and quickly.

We had a 2hr late start yesterday, and today we had normal schedule.

The snow seams to have started to move on towards the east.

Evening all well boy did I make a couple of boo boo this evening (must be getting tired) I went to put a bid of $9.06 for a train crossing (O gauge) and missed the decimal point and again when I did a bid of $20.36 glad they didn't really go for more than I wanted well the first one ended up costing me $13.05 but that's okay will save on combine shipping and deal on the other 2 I won from same seller.

 Went to walley world today and found these construction ERTL John Deer items so thought they would go great on a couple of empty flats I have.

Evening Gang: Mary Ann and I went to the not so local hobby shop in Denton Tx to pick up a Thomas The Tank Engine train set for the grandkids. The 10 year old will be able to have fun with it and the 18 month old can watch. Of course grandpa might get to play too. There both girls but that doesn't mater. My cousin had a big American Flyer setup and she was a girl. The best part of the trip was that Mary Ann was along. It's about a 45 minute drive up to there but he gives a good discount and will order anything you may need. I found a MDC taper side ore car behind the other MDC stuff. It was marked $6 the msrp and he gave it to me for $4. I also picked up a section of code 55 N gauge track and a pack of N gauge 36 inch wheel sets. NO! I am not going iNvisable scale. I'm going to use the track for mine track and the wheel sets to make mine cars. All in all it was a good trip.

We spent the morning vacinating the cows and calfs. The vet came out and we got the job done in about 2 1/2 hours. Tomorrow we'll go in to town for feed and to the post office then home and I'm going togo over to my friends track to spend the day running the live steam stuff.

Well it's time for bed and I still have to check the E-mail

I got to the health unit this morning and was 12th in line for the flu shots. As a result, I was only 30 minutes late for work. We knocked out 76 ammo boxes today, a good days work. I never realized how much there is to putting those things together.

Afternoon all....Cold windy icey day here but not as bad as it could have been.....I'll have a pork burger drag it thru the garden ...tater logs and a Nehi red belly washer please....I decided to put the layout back in order so I could runs some trains over the week end then close it up next week...got it all ballasted more groud cover down touched up the backdrop and "planted" trees on one of the 'hills"...Smells like Sallie's hair spray in here[thats what I used for glue to glue some Woodland turf to the poly fiber balls trees]....had to do it inside to cold to go out....Ryan...no I am reading her new book its pretty funny but not quite so much belly laugh stuff....She is a talented writer I got to know her in my disk jock days she did some country comedy stuff for RCA that I played on the air alot...Sallie had a bad day today got her down for her nap and I think I'll take one too...You all have a good one...Jerry

I was thinking of making it for Christmas.  Since you like to cook I thought I'd share and see what you think of it?

Plans for the weekend? Try to wrap up all the Christmas presents and put them under the tree, then have a few more to buy this weekend. Also, going to try to finish my staging area on Saturday.

Well made it through the night ok, the power was out for over 3 hours, guess it could have been worse. Not much snow or ice here, but Bryan and me had doc appointment in Effingham this morning. A 45 minute drive took little over an hour, roads were bad tween Greenup and there going, but ok coming home.

Dick and Jim,,, the bad part of the storm went west and north of us here, but we did get the rain. Creeks are still runnin half full.

Mother should be home this afternoon, be good to have her back, cookin fur ones, no fun.

Best get a move on befre KC wakes up from her nappy

Rain started late last night and now we are getting the brunt of the storm through the North East. Hope the wind is not too bad, but I heard there might be a few gusts here and there.

Good morning, CS'ers! Zoe, I'd like some of those eggs (scrambled) with a waffle and some maple syrup that I think Dick left behind the counter yesterday. Yum!

 We didn't get a lot of snow or ice last night, but it's cold here in Southeast Missouri. North of us got more of the ice and snow, so Inch and Jerry, you might want to watch out (and get that snow shovel ready - or contact your friendly neighborhood kid with one)! And those of you in Indiana may want to stock up on the milk, bread and rocksalt.

 Got to get ready to head out for work, though with this cold weather, I expect there to be few people coming in. Should be able to make some headway on the paperwork, I hope.

 Take care, and if you have to drive to your HD today for MRR supplies, drive carefully!

I posted some pictures on my www link below in the L.S.&W. album.  Last night I finished the first section to the layout.  I have to do some minor touch-ups here and there and have plenty of room to add some more detail to the module, but the roundhouse, turntable and coaling tower is good to go.

Next is the east and west yards and the approach to the locomotive shops.

The weather up here just did a 180, looks like freezing rain and snow this weekend.

We set a record today for high temperature, it hit 69 degrees, the old record was 67 set way back in 1881.

JEFF: 32F? And it's raining???  Man you are right on the border of snow!!!

MIKE: Looks like the midwest is really getting socked!! Were're next, high winds, driving rain, then turning much colder on Saturday, with a near miss of a Nor'easter on Monday, just flurries on the perimeter of the LOW.

That was a huge drop! With it came steady, though not really heavy rain and lots of wind. I could feel my car being buffeted around on the way home from work, and it weighs over 2 tons!

Good evening CS people. Just a quick drop in for a night cap. Nothing to eat, as I 'm virtually stuffed from all that good food in here just lately.

Chuck and Kathy, I second Dick's second suggestion.  Like the Aero ad says on TV "Just let it melt".  When we first came to Sober Island the winters were so mild that our neighbours, who had moved from Ontario had the handle of their snow shovel fall apart from disuse! 

Really like this new message posting format, I agree with you Ryan .

 Still got rain here for now, got 35 outside, nasty suppose to be in later tonight and 2" snow by morning.   Talk to Jamie and she said Springfield had bout a 1/2 of inch and it was mixing with snow, forecast bout 8" up that way. 

Have been in the train room today, mostly cleaning, so that I can do something on the layout tomorrow
