Good Evening, All!

Zoe, a round of hot drinks for our Northern friends here, and I'll have a hot mocha for myself.

You guys will have to tell me how you know which number a post is - I didn't see anything that seemed to have to do with the # of the post(s). But then again, at this time of year (and especially with the weather up north the way it's been), heading to Minnesota might require a delay for me.[;)]

JP/John, if you can figure things out between the two of you and keep the lawyers (barristers?) out of things as long as possible, it’ll probably be better. Figure the property divvying up and such between the two of you. And do get yourself a lawyer to read over anything her lawyer sends you. When I was going through my divorce, her lawyer stuck in a “Just a boilerplate, guess the secretary forgot and left it in there” (yeah, right!) section about how she couldn’t afford attorney fees and I would agree to pay her attorney. Funny thing was, I was going back to college and not working more than 15 hours/week on campus, and she had already got tenure in her public school district and was working full-time(!). Go figure... Guess the attorney had no clue what my income was, huh?[}:)][;)]

***, I hear Teffy’s gonna add some tumbleweeds to that fire, too! Might need to snitch the prairie dogs' furniture as well...[swg]

Fergie, did you get my e-mail, or did it get snowed in this side of the border?

Looks like the upside of the weather (so long as no power lines go down) is that some of us are 'stuck inside' and [sigh], have nothing to do but modeling, right?[:-^] Well, a guy's got to do something useful when sNoahed in...

Luc, are you scratchbuilding scale pine boxes to go with the funeral home?[;)] Probably depends on what era you're modeling, I guess. [:)]

Chris, what about some smaller towns just outside of St. Louis or Peoria? Does the Q have any lines out that way you could sort of use as an excuse for an interchange? Just a thought.[2c]

TrolleyBoy, I got your email - it helps to have a relative who can put together a computer for you.

Anyone ever added zebra striping to a switcher (like NW's or SW's)? Is it less work to use the SP decals or to try to mask off and paint the stripes on? [?] Like to hear some suggestions from those of you who've tried adding stripes (if anyone has).

Well, it's about dinner time for me, so time to go home and rummage through the fridge. Stay warm as possible, and may all that wind move most of that snow off, so Fergie's kids don't get totally worn out shovelling.[8D][:D]

Congratulations Bob: Too bad, Mitchell, I guess the electrons just took too long to get from OZ[(-D]
Fergie:
John you still there? Luct Buddy? Time to send in the Coast Guard!

Had to dig my way out of the house in order to feed Rosie-the -dog this evening. Odd how the snow drifts about. The deck outside the door was drifted and filled in about 18". The first step down was blown clear, and the next step was piled up higher than the first step! Another burried step, then there was the 8' long x 30" drift out to the clear blown driveway, and the drift the other side all around and into the dooway off her dog house.
***, your state of emergency made it onto our Halifax TV news at 6.

I swapped out the plastic wheel sets on the Amtrack Bay Window Caboose this afternoon. They are in guage, but the thing keeps falling off the track in ways that the plastic wheels never did. I think I'm going to have to check the weight of the car, but don't see why it is worse now than when it was lighter by the difference of between the metal and the plastic.

Now my keyboard is refusing to answer to the direction arrows. Maybe it's time to shut everything down!

I'm here, way to late it seems.[:(]

Congrats, Bob (TEFFY). Atleast it came close to me anyway. Will you be sharing your prize with any of us, hmmmm. [;)][:D]

Zoe, I'll take a coke, and a tuna sandwich, also.[dinner]

I'll take the 44 tonner, if Nobody else takes it. Just e-mail me, please.[:D][8D]

Guy's, I forgot to mention the news I heard. Late night host Johnny Carson, died at the age of 79. Real sad, it is.

Man, I am having flashbacks. [:0]

I would swear I was back in the D O S Thread. [:p]

Well maybe not, this IS the coffee shop, RIGHT? [?]

OK, Good. Now that that is settled I have some bad news.

Many of you will remember the Tonight's Show with host, Johnny Carson. Well, today, Johnny past away. [:(] In my opinion none of the people who are now on late night TV can hold a candle to Johnny. Jay Leno is funny and probally the best of the new crop but Johnny was da man. He will be missed. [V]

Thanks for the info, Rob (Trolleyboy).

Mitchell, would you be able to draw me an SW1500 with SP-type zebra stripes on the back end, a line running across about handrail high on the body, and either zebra stripes on the front end (or something other than that bloody nose paint scheme)? If so, let me know (email or here will be fine).

Sorry to hear about Johnny Carson's death. He's the first late night host I recall. Don't think my parents let me stay up when Jack Paar had his show.[8D]

Well, time to get back to fixing dinner. [dinner]

Blessings on your evenings (and no more sNoah for our Canadian friends),

Evening all.

Well the funeral home is up, I'm going to leave it alone for now and finish it off tomorrow or Tuesday.

Sad news about Mr Carson. His contribution to the world of entertainment will not be forgotten. He was a very funny man indeed.

I'm sorry Jim but my skills for this type of work are not that good. This is the IHC Laststop Funeral Home. I do like these kits for there are simple and easy to put together. My next looks a little more challenging. The Walther sugar refinery consist of 3 buildings and has lot more parts to it. I think it will be fun to do. Gloetown is set in the 40 - 50's time frame, so it gives me many choices.

Fergie/John - Once this one "blows" over, we should be clear for a few days but, one must remember that this is Nova Scotia and like the saying goes "If you don't like the weather, wait 5 minutes".

Must go and get my bits ready for work tomorrow.

Happy MRRing

Good evenin' Everybody,
Well Teffy got the big number 5000! Congratulations, Bob. When do you leave for Minnestota to claim your prize? Oh, that's right, a trip to Minnesota in February is your prize. Better be sure to take your warm woolies. That 36 this afternoon is going to seem like a heat wave.

It's been beautifully clear but cold here today. We got up to 26 this afternoon for a little while. it's about 7:15 now and we're back down to 18. I know that's nothing to compare with what's going on up North, but it is right chilly.

Tomorrow will be a work day on the club's Horribly Oversized modules. Some of the fascia boards have come loose and need to be remounted. There are a number of gouges and holes in the foam that need to be repaired and the scenery needs some work to make it more presentable. It should be fun.

The color selection committee has reached a decision, and I'm pleased to say that I concur. We're going to install board and bead paneling up to about 40" above the floor, with a chair rail. A light sage green above and a cream color below. On my way home tomorrow I'll stop at Home Depot and get the stuff. I think Tuesday will be a Work Day. Wednesday might be one too.

Fergie, for a Southern Boy, those temps are really ugly. -40 with a windchill down to
-105 is almost too cold to comrehend. "Dress warm" doesn't begin to cover it. We like Corona slushies around here. They go in the freezer for a little while. When they just just to get ice around the top, they're ready. After a hard, hot day working in the yard and gardens, a Corona slushie on the porch is hard to beat.

Grayfox, 184 on the cholesterol is outstanding, especially doing on your own.

Chris, A small town interchange, a la Bill Darnaby or Tony Koester would be best. There's nothing wrong with rewriting history a little if you need to. An interchange will let you run both road's motive power and give you lots of traffic and switching. I'm still learning new things about what the Southern and L&N interchanged in Murphy. It just gets more and more interesting.

Elliot, we hit 5000 posts today. You started something good. We sure are enjoying it. Thanks.

I'd better go for now. Have a great evening, everybody.

Good Evening All:

The PRO here. I can't believe that Pittsburg is behind by 7 and looking at another Pat TD.

This is something new to me and I don't know if it's going to work. This a picture of the Campbell trestle that I finished the other night.

Before you start the Walthers kit look at this group and you can see what I did, by spraying the sides and wiping with toilet paper, it makes the mortor stand out.

I use aged concrete on regular buildings and grimey black on the ones I want to be sooty. After painting and wiping I add the windows and all the other stuff, and then glue the sides together.

Hello all,

Wish I had money during the playoffs. Would have won all but the hometown Chargers.

Pats are doing a stomping, preventing an all Penn. SuperBowl.

Pat will be Philly in 2 weeks. [:D][:D]

Gotta get back to party.

Bob - just edit the post and change the word 'gallery' to 'albums' in the photo address.

That should do it.

Looks good, Teffy!

You (and probably another couple of people) beat me to it on the 44 ton. But I probably would rather find a way to add a decoder to my (MDC?) 0-6-0T and Athearn (blue box) SW1500(okay, SW7).

See everyone tomorrow. Some stuff for work awaits, and then if I have time before bed, some looking at which structures will fit on the layout design.

Helped Zoe get another batch of joe started for you late-nighters. [:)]

I suppose "Because I said so..." isn't good enough?

Okay then, it's because, because ...., because....... I really don't know, you just do. This is like the "secret handshake" of RailImages. All new initiates have to go through this trial and error.

btw, nice bridge!! How would you like to try doing one in Normal scale?

Yes I received the email. No, I can't get the pictures to open, or at least I don't think I can. All I get is a white screen with a small Kodak icon. There is a small photo of what appears to be a piece of track in the middle of the email, but there appear to be 2 photos attached.

Hi folks - looks like its been a busy sunday in here, I had something like 3 or 4 pages to catch up on! Glad everyone seems to be weathering the storm alright. Too bad it can't dump like that on some of the mountains nearer to me, I could put snow like that to good use!

Too bad to hear about Johnny Carson. I agree that the current crop just doesn't quite cut it compared to him! One of our local stations when I was growing up ran "Carson's Comedy Classics" as well - I don't think I've ever laughed so hard as I did when I was watching that!

Well tomorrow looks like a snow day as I have drifts of about 2'-3' in the front and they are still calling for Blizzard conditions all day tomorrow.

Nice Bridge Bob! The other pics in your gallery also look good. The Challenger will look good going across the Bridge.

Anyway time to pack it in

Congarts Bob. The bridge looks good too.

We went to the 5AM Donut Shop, and than home. My son has a case of the sniffels and he dosen't come in here. I did some plowing for a few hours until Mary Ann came out to the field and got me. We had a cow give birth yesterday and her calf looked like it wasn't feeding. We watched her for awhile and deceided to take them to the corral and put them on a stall. So I loaded the calf into the back of the pickup and Mary Ann drove down to the corrall with the cow following. We got the cow into the squeze chute and ended up having to milk the cow. It's real important for the calf to get that first milk. It has an effect on the calfs immune system. Any way we did get some down the calf and the rest is in the fredge. This may end up another bottle baby. It seemed like the calf couldn't figure out what to do with the little dangly things.

I'm gone for now

Evening gents, I see that Bob won the big prize, he gets to go where? That should be fun for a Texan this time of year!!!
I was too busy watching my Patriots take it to the Steelers and avenge the earlier loss. It is interesting to note that coach Belicek has never lost a second game to a team that beat him previously, and he now has tied Vince Lombardi with a 9-1 record in playoffs and can eclipse that if the Pats when the SB in two weeks.

Ed...what do think of our guys ED ??? I can hear you all the way up North from the Orange Grove !!![:D][:D][:D][:D]

Bob, nice job on the bridge, the steamers will look terrific crossing over, the rest of the layout pictures look great, nice job !!

Hope I can make a HD run for more plasterboard, the son-inlaws pickup is burried in snow, more digging out tomorrow, better get some rest , this has been quite a day of workout and excitement wit the Pats....

See you tomorrow gents, God Bless all,
Dick If you do what you always did, you'll get what you always got!! Learn from the mistakes of others, trust me........you can't live long enough to make all the mistakes yourself, I tried !! I may have to send Ed a heated CASCO syrup tanker for the next batch so we have liquid instead of slush[:D][8D][:p]. Zoe's put on some new sweet rolls and I've added several more logs to the stove for welate niters so I'm going to curl up by the fire and catch up on some reading.[|)][|)]Later gents. Rob

[:)Hey grayfox, Go Pats. Of course all NE fans are in SoCal [:)] [:)] [:)]

That game today was the Super Bowl. Philly won't be half the work that Pitt. was. The Colts, and the Chargers all could take Philly also. AFC rules this year for a change.

Hope everyone that is snowed in is doing well. We are only cooling to low 50s tonight so a warmer evening. Topped out at 77 today, only fog was at the golf course. That is God making sure everyone doesn't move to SoCal cause of the horrible weather.

Paul, I have never seen the cow/calf thing either. Never seen it snow, never seen a cow feed a calf. Or people milking a cow. The things you miss in the city. We actually had dairies out here when I was little, but they smelled so bad to my little nose I would go up when mom went and got the milk. Missed out on some cool things.

hang in there PennyH. Better days are coming, maybe in June, but they are coming. [:D]

Anyway the daughter has a new game on the computer, and only Dad installs programs, so I gotta run. Take care all, thanks for the smoothie. [8D][8D]

Sure was interesting catching up on the 8 pages addes over the weekend. Bad weather everywhere. Sure does suck.
So first prize was a trip to St Paul, eh? And second prize was TWO trips to St Paul- (rimshot) that one's for you Johnny! Sure have and will continue to miss you.
Flip- the only way to know that you've driven off the Pa Trnpk today would be the ride getting smoother! That is the poorest excuse for a major road I've ever been on.
Turbo- Hoosier weather will get better in June, eh? We will have about 3 hours of tolerable spring weather, then it will hit 100- temp and humidity- and stay that way til fall. Fall is about the only decently continous time of the year here. You do get a nice breeze in summer from the air flow coming off of skeeter's wings. And after about 5 quarts get drawn off, you begin to cool down.
Stay warm.

Good Morning All:

Did you yankees watch Good Morning America today? They had a piece on how to shovel your driveway. I watched it with great interest as I may have to shovel some snoah in the next twenty years.

***:
You want the Pats to win the SB? I guess they could use a Snoah Blower as they are from New England. I hope the one that they win is better then the one that John has.

John:
Just thinking about your SB, look at how much money you're saving on gasoline when it wont start.

Fergie:
How did we get off the phone so fast?

Not much to talk about today, I did it all yesterday.

Ya'll have a blessed day and remember SANTA FE ALL THE WAY
