I'm aware that there have been "issues" in the past, but I feel that when correcting inappropriate behavior it is always best to deal with it head-on and in a very matter-of-fact manner. I don't wi***o be rude or offensive, and I hope I don't come across that way. I just want to make the point that this is not acceptable behavior, that's all.

I enjoy swdave's particapation on this forum and have found many of his comments to be insightful and valuable. I don't wi***o loose anyone on this forum. But this cannot be accepted, and that's the bottom line, period.

Well the rain has stopped for now, 1.59" since midnight here, but the areas to the SE near Cape Cod received 9" in some towns and I-93 and Rt3 was shut down in some areas, and Logan Airport was down to one (1) runway open out of four (4) for a period this afternoon. We will do this all over again Friday into Saturday just for practice.
All this rain and I watched a huge dust storm cause havoc in Phoenix, AZ today.

On the train news front, if you guys can get the HISTORY CHANNEL, there is a train program on TONIGHT from 8 to 9 EDST ( Eastern Daylight Savings Time ), 7 pm in the Midwest, for the Maritime Provinces, you just missed the first 8 minutes!!!!

And speaking of which, how 'bout this rain we're having here in the NE? Makes for some good days for MRRing, if I had a layout to work on. And, it has helped out the SOX as well in that they can get a day off before playing the last game of their 4-game series w/ the Yanks.

Well guys and gals, I'm hoping to get my dad's digital camera this weekend so I can get some pics of my equipment posted for all to see.

Well good news- Dr. took care of Deb's problem and in a week or so will have results of biopsy. Thinks it is clear. Of course her liver problem isn't going away nor her spinal trouble. She will muddle through. Heck being married to me for 25 years hasn't done anything but make her stronger.

Greetings all.
Well I decided that a late cup of coffee was just what the doctor ordered.
PC Did you miss me today. Well I had some repairs in one of my appartments. You know people move out unannounced. I'll be back there tomorrow to paint the place.

I did some large scale MRRing tonight. I got the weed burner out and burned off soma 100 ft of track. I was going to do some more but ranout of garden hose. I'll have to round up some more tomorrow.

Now I have to replace the breaker panel in the barn. We went into HD and got a Square D QO panel and I'll have to install it tomorrow. Since the well pump is on that panel I'll have to get it done asap.

I think that I'll head for bed. Have a good night and I'll see you all tomorrow.

…I quite agree, and think that what you said was the correct approach. It seems that sw doesn’t “get it” as far as acceptable humour for a general audience including teens is concerned, as this is at least the third time we’ve had to point it out. Dave likes to roil the waters I guess. I suppose once you've told him you don't like his act with the raunchy jokes it is best not to get into a debate with him. If he doesn't get recognised, he tends to go away.
Saw Peter Mclaughlins' cross country railfan pics last night at the Museum. 1966 and the equipment was out of sight. He went out on the 20th Century and returned by car taking pictures at trackside and at facilities the entire way back. Lots of stuff in Montana and Wyoming with Zephers and matched UP passenger consists. Some Big Boy and Challanger pics when they were just going back into use on fan trips - the res t were photographed in place where they'd been hidden to keep them off the scrap pile. Cool stuff! He also had a lot of pictures of the UP turbine power and the converted PA with a steam turbine installed (8080 was the loco number).
At the museum we are still struggling to get ready for the big show that starts next week, but we are nearly finished with the switcher. The guys working that project really had their hands full as it needed a new radiator. Didn't know you needed a crane to install the cooling system, guess I've been spoiled by alloy radiators in cars. Once the switcher is up and running we can finally reposition the coaches and get the PA system tested.
Work is quiet with all the crew gone, but I can get more done without the interruptions. Speaking of which it's time to get on with it. CUL,[:D],J.R.

The RAKE AND MOWER are 1:32 scale. They are white metal castings. A friend in Arkansas made them a few years ago.

Mornin all, Farmers Breakfast, OJ n coffee Zoe, got a long day ahead,
Got a trip up by Springfield today, maybe I can get some photos on the trip.
Had a good day with the kids yesterday, all 3 of us got in a couple naps when we weren’t outside playing.

Grayfox , I saw the last steam engine to run on the tracks outback. I wasn’t vary old, but I can still remember it at the station in Marshall. Dad stopped and I got to see it up close. And I saw the last coal train to run on the Cairo-Danville track, also the last PC to run from Paris to Charleston, and a couple other last runs on now abandon tracks. What I wouldn’t give to have been smart enough to have a camera.

Flip , glad Deb got some good news from the docs.

Der , thought maybe it was the deposit on TV. They showed a big operation up there, I was amazed at how much they could process in one day.
Hope it warms up there some before the end of summer anyway.

Goodmorning everyone, cloudy and showers again today, and we have another big storm with heavy rains coming in for tomorrow afternoon and evening......the water along the CSX mainline in Brookfield in the swamp is nearly at track level...enough already !!! We received 1.69" of rain in our town from this past storm, but areas near Cape Cod got 9".....what is going on with this weather?????!!!!! [xx(][:O][:O]

How many of you guys saw the Railroad show on the History Channel last night?? I cannot believe what those guys went through laying the tracks for the cross continent RR. Using nitro to blast through granite mountains. And to speed things up, they not only started at both ends of the tunnel, but in the middle by blasting and digging a shaft in the middle of the mountain straight down, then, starting to blast in both directions towards either end of the tunnel as well!! They modified a jupiter locomotive on the top of the mountain to use a verticle lift bucket to haul all the rocks from the center of the tunnel via steam power. If you missed this show, they repeat every several days, check your local TV programming guide.

Good morning everyone. I thought I would stop in before I head out to work today.

So, I saw The Omen last night. That was one helluva movie. It is a well-done remake of a great classic. I cannot wait until the sequels...They had better make the whole trilogy with this. However, PC I did not catch the overhead microphone. I guess I was too into the movie and the storyline and how close it came to the original to notice the mic. Although, I did get some good laughs...Watching my friends jump out of their seats at parts...And the hardest laugh came when the one guy was decapitated by the sign...Does that make me twisted?[:p] If you have seen the original Omen trilogy, this is definitely worth a look. [tup][tup]

Flip: You don't need to worry Flip, I know what a record player is. In fact, I have one, and a fairly good sized collection of 33s and 45s. No 78s though...But anyways...You can hook almost any turntable to almost any Bose unit...But what you need depends on whether or not your BSR has a pre-amp built into it. See below:

-If your BSR does not have a pre-amp- You should have a "Pre Amp" output on your turntable. You will have to purchase a phono pre-amplifier. The pre-amp will usually have red and white RCA sound-outs. From these, you just connect to the auxiliary red and white sound-ins on a Bose 3-2-1, Lifestyle system, or Acoustic Wave. The Wave Radio II and the Wave Music System use a standard 1/8" jack (same as a headphone) for the auxiliary, so all you would need is an RCA-to-1/8" Headphone adapter.

-If your BSR has a built in pre-amp- You will have either red and white RCA sound-outs, or the 1/8" jack sound-out. You'll just do the same as above, and connect them to auxiliary on whatever unit, possibly using an RCA-to-Headphone adapter or not.

Now, since I am not too familiar with BSR units, it could be possible that your turntable has a built in amplifier...If so, then you will have spring clips or screw clips for bare speaker wire; Speaker-Outs. If you can plug speakers straight into your turntable, then you can just use a non-powered speaker set. Anything like the Acoustimas 3, Acoustimas 5, 161s, 201s, or 301s would work then.
