Looking good Tyler!
Vincent, I love the SD24! I always wanted to get a FRV one, but that's on the wish list; along with the WC 2500 in the SOU tux, and SOO GP30. Another locomotive I'm considering is one of the two ACR GP40s. But I'm broke, and a custom paint job wouldn't be cheap! Plus, I have a F45 and FP45 on order.
Speaking of locomotives...who says you have enough locomotives Tyler? Looks are deceiving though, almost my whole roster needs detail work.

Nice roster Vincent. Most of my locos need serious paint stripping. Out of 7, only 2 are in operating condition; my C-Liner and U23B.
I've decidd that instead of building that shelf layout, after looking at the costs associated with the track, I've decided to go for something a bit smaller: a 3x6. Dbl. track main, and two industries, so I can do a little switching. I scenicked the plan in MS Paint, but i can't find the file, so I'll upload it tomorrow. And I will warn you: the passing sidng is next to nothing. It's just there to serve the facing point spur.

Darn! Someone else has more locomotives than me! And you've got so many that match; I've got 8 locos and a dummy, each with a different paint scheme! WRS, PRR, C&O, UP, Chessie System (C&O), ex-RDG (patched for WRS), IC, and CSX! Eventually most of them will be repainted though. I'm still looking at patching 1402 for WIN.
Tyler, you're horrible, because M&SV has almost an entire matching roster now. 5 GP38-2's in Black and Blue. (I picked up 4 GP38-2 shells w/ handrails for 40$, and since I'm getting trainman shells for my NHN locos, I'm selling the 4 Athearn ones to Steve, painted!)
Alex
Alex;. The wheelsets won't turn when put in. I have a truck tuner and tried it on one truck but didn't make any progress. When I put the wheelset and/or the truck tuner in, the sideframes of the trucks look like they were bending outwards.
SD fan, I go there alot since there prices are better than Bobe's Unfortunataly, they don't have as many scratch building supplies (like drill bits, styrene, paint, etc.) and they don't have very many kits that I could use. When I went that weekend, I only got a decoder from them. The cars and a set of #80 drill bits I got from Bobe's. I bought the drill bits becuase I though the grabs that came with my U33Cs were right, but they weren't. So as a result, I'm going to get a set of the DA detail kits for the U33Cs.
Jordan, I'm going to be getting rid of the UP SD24. Only thing wrong is the front headlight don't work right.
Tyler, your railroad must be more colorful than the rainbow years of the BN. If you want to speed up painting, krylon fusion paints work pretty good on plastic. That's what I've painted the walkways with on my Atlas U-boats. If you make your own decals, it should be very expensive.
My UP U30C came in yesterday (only thing wrong with it externally is that it doesn't have end handrails), and I've already thrown the sound guts into my BN U30C. Turns out Tonys put in a EMD 2nd gen sound decoder in it. I'm wondering if it'd be at all possible to work out something to where I could get rid of that EMD sound decoder (and maybe my UP U30C), and get a QSI revolution in it with the right GE sound in it for my BN U30C.
Later on today I'll start working on cataloging every piece of equipment I have. That maybe I'll get a couple of roster shots of my engines (minus the inactives). Out of a total of 27 (maybe I should start leasing them out), 10 are inactive. 4 of those 10 are close but due to college and work I haven't gotten around to them.
Here's my inactive list:BNs for repairs:1 U33C: need to make up some bondo to repair the messed up radiator grillsSW1500s: need to remove the lenz silver and put in the TCS M4 in it. Also could use some detail work.1 GP35: have yet to secure motor, but this unit will get the lenz silver in the SW1500.3 C424s: need to make coupler mounting pads and get some more parts from Atlas.Since spring break for me starts in a few hours, I could probably knock out the GP35, SW1500s, and U33C in short order. It shoudn't take me more than an few hours to finish them all.Non BNs:1 SD24: UP, front light don't work right.1 U30C: UP, doesn't have end handrails.1 SW9: NYC, small glue spot near one of the windows.
Vincent
Wants: 1. high-quality, sound equipped, SD40-2s, C636s, C30-7s, and F-units in BN. As for ones that don't cost an arm and a leg, that's out of the question....
2. An end to the limited-production and other crap that makes models harder to get and more expensive.
Alex: What about the other locos owned by the M&SV? The CSX GE-something (Dash 9?) and the Chessie GP40-2?
Vincent: I'm not in a big hurry to paint them. And I can get enough decals for the whole fleet for $20. I just have so many projects that get priority (I still need to lay the track in New Poland) over learning to paint and decal and then actually getting around to it...

The CNW Geep-that lighter colored SD45 are all WC.
CNW 1569 needs to be patched and renumbered. The trucks also need to be worked on as this is an "Original" CNW geep that hasn't gone through the re-building process. The skirting above the fuel tank also needs to be cut off.
WC 152 needs detail work. The horn and bell are in the wrong place and will need to be moved. Not that big of a deal. It also needs to be renumbered.
WC 3007 needs a lot of work. It was damaged during shipping so it needs new lift rings, paint, and a snow plow. Other details would be a firecracker antenna and an All Weather Window.
WC 3005 is pretty much finished. Except that I need one lift ring, a firecracker antenna, and an American flag to put on the side.
BN 6489 needs to be patched, renumbered, and its truck side frames swapped out for silver ones. This will become WC 6660 which was the last Ex BN SD45 left on the WC in BN paint. She also needs a plow and fire cracker antenna. For some reason this unit never came with the detail pack.
ATSF 5536 needs to be renumbered to a more appropriate number for 1995. It also needs detail work on the cab roof, and on the pilot. It could also use lift rings and the beacon should also be removed. I will probably leave her as an ATSF unit, as the WC did a lease to own with the ATSF SD45s.
WC 5547 needs to be renumber to WC 5334 (I think). It will be one of the few ex ATSF SD45s to retain its original number.
WC 6505 needs a fire cracker antenna.
WC 6588 needs its horn moved, and other roof details identifying it as an Ex ATSF SD45.
WC 6588 needs to some how be renumbered or sold. This unit needs a lot of work, so I'm not sure about its future.
WC 6677 also needs a lot of work. Hand rails, grab irons, lift rings, pilot details, roof details, ect.
DMIR 215 is almost done. It needs grab irons and pilot details.
DMIR 419 needs pilot details and lift rings.
OWY 9090 needs a new motor. (The old Athearn motor in there sounds horrible!) It also needs pilot details, and lift rings.
BN 9208? is almost finished. It needs a snow plow and some roof details. I will also add strobe ditch lights.
Ditch lights apply to every locomotive. WC 6654 and ATSF 52 will be comming some time in fall. By that time I hope Athearn will have announced a WC SD45. Depending on how many numbers and what numbers they are going to release, I will get 2-3, and 6588 will most likely be sold then.
The Dash 9 will probably be returned to CSX now that they rest of their roster is arriving.
The Chessie GP40 is forfeiting its drive to one of the shells.
Wow, your fleet matches. I wish I could do that, but then again there's a reason the Cape Vincent Southern is called "The Road of Many Colors". I took this picture in November 2008, and since then have added 3 U33C's and 3 FB units for RC yard work (too bad only one of the 3 works). In this picture only the UP F3 and BN GP9 don't work.
Here's one of the U33C's:
the only locomotive I didn't mention is my Flying Scot 4-6-0 (I think that's what it is). I forgot to put it in the first picture.

On a less serious note, just going through some OLD pictures and wanted to share what happens when you don't have a layout but do have a bucket of Lincoln logs...
Yes, that is my GS-4 in the first picture.
Thanks Bob.

What? Did you post on the wrong thread, or did I miss something?
IDK, I guess I only got it, but it said Teen Model Railroader Place...
Nevermind I guess...
I'm really confused!
I'm getting emails from do-not-reply@kalmbach.com with all these posts from Teen Model Railroader Place that aren't here anymore! There was graphic image from jeffery-wimberly and someone telling him he was stupid, and a guy named Bob linking some stuff for sale he thought we would be interested in.

I believe there was an infiltration of mayonaise.
Also, you're lucky you get those emails, I don't get any.
Ok I get it now, no need for further discussion.

Dern man, that's really gotta suck. Your locomotives are still there though, so you don't have to rebuild your roster though.
Im so glad they didnt take my engines i guess they didnt think they were worth it! Yay for me because most of my locos are discontinued( thanks athearn )! But at least i can still work on my layout!

Yeah. I'm guessing they didn't touch your layout, except for the airbrush?
I think I may start on another diorama sometime in the future. When I get my airbrush, I almsot definitely will.
Ouch! At least they didn't touch your layout!

I'll be here tomorrow (although pretty busy) but then I'll be gone till next weekend, and then will be busy another week, then gone the week after that. So I'll talk to you in late April or May...
SD60M, that sucks. Least your trains didn't get jacked.
I'll be gone until Monday afternoon. I'm going to Fun Ford Weekend, don't know if I'll hit a hobby shop or not. If I do, I'm hoping for an Athearn RTR SD40-2 in BN (I'm probably the only BN modeler that doesn't have any SD40-2s).
Kade, that sucks. Hope they are caught and your stuff returned....
