I have something a little different this week, one that is more imaginative, for me anyway.  Coming home from town the other evening, riding along with a full moon in the windshield, the radio was playing "Midnight Train to Georgia".  That got me to thinking...

When I got home I got my camera and tripod and photographed the moon then a Consolidated that I backlit.

Hello everybody. Nice work here already.

This post will introduce my newest scene on my HO (fictional) Heartland Division of CB&Q. It is located in a corner. All of the background buildings are undersized to force the perspective. The roads winding around between the tress get very narrow in the distance. The stream and waterfalls are made from WS "Realistic Water" and "Water Effects"  You may notive the funeral in progress in the cemetary.

The hoiuses will be part of my town of Valley Heights, and the station is in place out of view to the left. The waterfalls are named "Standing Falls".

Good looking work so far this week end. Here are a few pics of some of the structures on my layout. None of them are "placed" on the layout or have the decals and weathering applied. I am waiting to get some more done before I start setting them perminately.

The last pic is an overall  pic of what I have so far as for a town, It will more than likely be moved.  Have a good weekend and thanks for looking.      Mike

Outdoorsfeller, your videos are very good!  I noted your smooth trackwork...the cars don't rock or jerk along, so you have tuned them and the tracks very well.

Good work as usual!!!!

Well let me add to the WPF.

Here's a few shots........Two with the cement plant and a couple from the "Corning" hopper.

The cement plant has been ballasted, foliage, and a new creek which turns into a small lake is being added. In the ballast areas, I added some diesel spillage from the diesel.  Just look closely.

Next is the hopper.  I only got to keep it a week, now its new home will be in Norway.  I will have to do one for myself oneday.

Um, I guess I should have kept him out of the shot.

Poor guy has been working 5 straight shifts.  I only have two guys on my layout, him and another guy near a building.  I am working them, till they pass out!!!!  Black Eye

Great pictures so far.  Here's my contribution:

'Twas a week before Christmas that I started building Campbell's Gran'ma's House kit:

I had no idea what I was getting into - 20 wall sections! and then there's the roof!  Progress was careful and slow:

Did I mention the roof!?:

By last weekend I was putting on the finishing touches:

One last dab of paint:

Finally, on February 10, and 4 girlfriends later, here it is (With Gran'ma on the porch):

It will actually be Betty Joe's Boarding House on my layout.  The name is a nod to Petticoat Junction (a TV show that, as a teen, combined my two favorite things:  Trains and girls - not necessarily in that order- I guess things really haven't changed that much):

It has 6 bulbs on 2 circuits, so that when I build my automated structure lighting system I can turn on part of the house then another part of the house.

A couple shots of some dirty reefers....

Two Branchline Trains billboard reefers I weathered up last week.  The first is sitting on a Walther's Carfloat at my CNJ Bronx Terminal.

I have some step by step images of the project on my site at the link below...

I never have seen one until the train show I went to.  I did see one on eBay for $25.  I think I will pass on it for now.

Its very subtle, but maybe a pinch of rust? Tongue

Hey Tim,

How about a wide shot of this part of your layout.  I'd like to see how that hunk of rivited steel is incorporated.

FastTracks

Oh yeah.  Great work on the reefers.

Here is a shot of the carfloat side of my layout.  The faux rust fascia is Masonite with wood plugs for rivits.

Detail on how this was done can be found here...
