Thanks Todd....... I would hope soon somebody who got the joke would explain it was a joke to others. If you read the joke carefully, you will see I phrased it to be neutral. It is not pro or con for either lawyers or BNSF's decisions.
I, too, have lawyer friends and they joke all the time. Good natured kidding is good I think.
Next topic .........Sue posted a thread on fascia. If you care to see how I do mine, I posted how I do mine in that thread.
Finally......... Where's breakfast ???????????
Oh........ There it is. I like pecan rolls. I'll have one of thsoe and some coffee.

Garry, great news on your BIL and train show sounds like fun!
Hey Jerry, nice to see you back again!
Paul W. BeverungEvening Gang: Last night was a total bust as far as the forums went. Anything that was on the MR or Trains forums did not load. I got time outs every where. I once mentioned this to Bergie and he said that it was with my server. We took six bull calves to the sale barn yesterday. The prices were down so Mary Ann came up some short of what see expected. Of course two days earlier the prices were higher.
Paul, I had the same issue with MR forums over the weekend too! And I have the exact opposite issue with gas prices, I'll fill up a tank and the next day the price goes down 5 cents.
JimRCGMORyan - good to hear Vinnie didn't leave any bruises. I like your layout plan - saved the image for ideas if I ever get an attic to spare.

twhite At Mass we found out who the new Provincial is for the West Coast Franciscans--and he's a HOOT! Of course, Franciscan Priests tend to be pretty 'off-the-wall' to begin with (and I mean that in the nicest possible way) but the new Provincial is a particular favorite at our Parish when he comes up to do the occasional Mass. So the Order is in VERY good hands. We all came out of Mass feeling pretty 'up.'

Hey Tom, always a treat when you get a Priest that is funny and down to earth. Don't the Franciscan monks make wine too?
Great motive power line-up there Eric!

Barry- Yeah, I see your point. But…..(hee hee hee). Nah, there is a lot of opinions flying around and I too gave my OPINION! (which of course is right, hee hee hee) Aaahh hooboy, have a chamamile tea or whatever it’s called, on me. We’ll go in the back and sit down and watch. Kinda like a Pro wrestling match. Comical until you loose interest. Say what's them roll things you guys have up there again, the sweet things.
Phillip- true, so true. (t-shirt)
Bama- You would be surprised at what gets yanked through here. Cars AND locos. Passenger AND freight. The only thing I can say about some of the stuff on the prototype railroad tracks around here (UP and of course Amtrak) is that it’s not prototypical, If you know what I mean (wink, wink, nudge, nudge) Ah them big railroads, they don’t know what they’re doin.
And as for DIY projects. A wise man once said "A man has got to know his limitations."
Welp best get doin something. Gotta place a sink in a counter top. How’d you say that guy did it Lee, turn it over and trace? Sooouunds easy enough.
Have a good day, Todd

Well, I hope all you upper Ohio Valley Diners got out your longjohns for today - weather forecast for you today sounds a lot like what our Canadian brethren have been describing for a while. Snow, blowing snow, biting cold and more of that! Bundle up today if you have to go out at all.
And PC, are you going for the new TOP record? Just a couple/three more to go and you may have that record!

Jeff and Lee, I think you both hit the nails on the head about their skill level for DIY projects. That's why I limit what stuff I do, and ask a lot of questions when I have a project I'm thinking of starting. Better to know it's beyond my level before I sink major money into it...
Eric, you might check that Horizon Hobby link I posted (Athearn.com will work as well). I'm pretty sure Athearn has a bunch of containers/kits for them that you should be able to get. But check it from home, maybe...
Jerry, prayers for your continued healing and swift return home.
On the intermodal question, that's later than my RR's time period, so I dunno...
I'll be in the window booth, checking out the morning switcher run.
Blessings and prayers,
Jim in Cape GIrardeau
Well, only reason I'm really asking is because I currently have about seven intermodal cars (one five-unit consist) and two separate TTX cars, and I wanna use them, but I know "prototypcially" there isn't an intermodal train that comes through my area (since its the area that I'm modelling), but I was thinking that say, at the end of a local, maybe I could strap them on and have them be cut farther on down the line.
BamaCSX83And I do have a question, would intermodal cars ever be mixed in on say, a local freight?
Good question. I'd like to know too. As far as being part of a local, I would think the logistics of loading or unloading would cause issues. However, at the warehouse across the street I have seen containers literally strapped to flatbed trailers lifted off by a small wheeled crane with spreader bars and chains, so who knows?
Eric
Good morning, Chloe. Coffee, please, before I head to work.
LSWrrSue, I’ll need some tips on water once I start my bridge section, maybe I can buy you some pie and a RBF one day while I pick your mind.
Sure. I have been lazy about the photo stuff lately. On my current computer, I don't have photoshop. The software that I am using does not wipe the card clean when I download, so I have to erase all the dups.
My first water project was the cowboys bathing in the pond. I am now trying to complete the stream below that. This project should take about 7 or 8 pours. We need to complete the facia, too, to finish it, and we are still trying to decide on that.
Later,
Sue
Anything is possible if you do not know what you are talking about.
Morning all. Its about 45-50 degrees outside and right now its overcast, supposed to get a little more clear today, but cloud up again tonight. Our cold nights are supposed to hit around Thursday when the forecasted low is 14. I plan on getting my final track plan down for my layout, then I'm going to go and get some work done around the house, and finally, I'm going to go watch a couple trains before picking up the little girl from daycare. Zoe, I'll have a biscuits and gravy and a tall glass of milk. I'll probably be hanging around on here for a little while. And I do have a question, would intermodal cars ever be mixed in on say, a local freight?
Morning to all. The boss stepped out, time for a short break.
Zoe, a porkroll and cheese on a hardroll please? Zoe: "A what and cheese?"
Never mind, how about biscuits and sausage gravy and a decaf. Thanks
Loved the BNSF thread! Some people..... Getting all fired up about an innocent comment.
Are there any decent modern box car kits around or is everything pretty much RTR? I have intermodal cars buried somewhere, just need containers. Some of them seem to cost as much as the whole car.
Just getting ideas for dioramas with my CSX units.
OOPS! The boss is back. See you later. Eric
Mornin' all!
Tough to get going this morning.
Yesterday was BRUTAL at the office, so lets hope and pray that silliness is over! Guess I'll know soon enough, huh? Phones are a ringin'!
Came across this the other day and thought it was funny. Whaddya think?

So, it's like really cold out there, and it's supposed to get colder. We're lookin' at single digits tonight, and later this week we'll have some negative digits, so with the wind howling along at 30mph, it's a bit brisk out there!
Well, gotta run!
Prayers for those in need! Yeah, thats you!
Its a cold, and snowy day. I will take the hungry mans breakfast a OJ.
Ahhh, get to watch some snow again, and wait for the 0 to -0 nights. I believe those nights are Thur-Fri.
I guess I will get some layout stuff done. I got 5 NS hoppers together last night, and got them at the coal plant. I will work on my propane plant today as well. Other than that, nothing really planned.
Well I guess I will eat up, and be back later.
"Rust, whats not to love?"
Good Morning from London ON where the current temperature is -1C and we will be heading for -10C this afternoon. We are having snow as I'm typing this with about 7cm expected tonight and another 5-8cm tomorrow morning---keep on shovelling----
Jeff; My BIL and I get a kick out of this one fellow down the street from me---it seems we are his fixit crew AFTER he messes up something. His wife recently wanted the livingroom painted---after he ended up painting everything in the livingroom---NO Dropsheets or such--wife had to call me up and I ended up redoing the livingroom---couldn't even get the colour right----
Garry; So you ended up getting people in a knot with the lawyer joke----I'm explaining the BNSF thing as territorial Marking Behaviour--- Oh well ----
I'll have a coffee and traditional breakfast plate please----I'll go to the back---watch the trains----

Good morning. It's 43 and partly cloudy. The high today is expected to be around 50 and it will be partly cloudy. For all my intentions to get certain things done yesterday I actually accomplished very little. I got lighting in the Shell station sorted out so I don't have that big bulb hanging down in full view. Other than that I didn't get anything accomplished on the layout. For some reason I was just very tired yesterday. Later I went down to my parents place and gathered up the trash and put it out for collection this morning since my father wouldn't be there to do it then went over to my nieces place and watched her live-in boy friend do something that could best be described as demonstrating how NOT to attempt the installation of a dog door. He's going shopping for a new front door for the trailer today as the old one now has an oversized hole in it. Before I left there I got a tape measure and showed him what he SHOULD have done to start with as in measure the dog door from side to side where the screws come through then do the same from top to bottom. I made sure he wrote the measurements down before I left. He doesn't seem to be real swift on DIY projects. Good Morning All,
A balmy 15F this morning with a high predicted of 38. Tomorrow it isn't supposed to get above 16F at all and lots of wind. I'll have a regular and a coconut covered donut please.
Good to hear from Jerry and we'll keep him in our prayers and wish him a prompt trip home.
Ray - there is a company called Clover House in Sebastapol, Ca. that lists lots of detail parts including a line of colored scale line insulators. Found them on line if i find the link again I'll post it here for you. They also have a large number of dry transfers listed which is why I started looking. The business owners are in their 80's and looking to sell and retire so I wouldn't wait too long.
Haven't had any issues signing in or navigating here using Comcast as my ISP for whatever that's worth. Might just be a server/ISP compatibility issue (like I know what I'm talking about LOL). Went in already for my blood work, need to meet with the second insulation contractor later ths morning, so back to the far reaches of the shop. Catch y'all later, J.R.

Well all CSX has once again been pretty busy here tonight, I've heard at least 5 trains come through. Most are probably just pass throughs, but I know that at least one was picking up hoppers on the interchange siding. Another was probably dropping off empties. If I only had a scanner and knew the frequencies so I could listen in on them, but oh well, no money to procure one right now, so no reason to complain. Anyway, I think I'm going to call it a night, I didn't get a single bit of drawing done, so I might go do that before I head off into the land of sleepy dreams.
sheesh! Don't click on for one day and I get 6 pages behind. I'll have to backtrack and see whats up re-Jerry.
der- just don't have room for the Peco switches. Thanks for the pix.

Ooops, I was looking at the rate thingy and clicked on it to see what it was and I think I rated it low. Best keep away from things I don't know about.
Well for the love of Pete! First Ryan now Jeffery. I’ll have the Pineapple bbq chicken and a glass of water. Please
Rob- (head hung low and swishing feet) yeah, sorry for spiking your pie. We do like hearing what you’re doing. Here have another clean one on me. You pick just so you’ll know. All joking aside and on a serious note you best check with the doc. Could be worn down or could be something you need checked out. Don’t mess around with headaches and blood pressure. You don’t want all of us to show up and drag you down there!
Jerry- Good to here from you. Glad you’re doing better and hope you get back sooner than you expect.
Robby- Good job on the engine but um, don’t you think it might need a bath? Looks like some we have passing through here, ‘cept they’re yellow.
Sarona Terry- Sounds like a typical event for me. You’re not the only one that kinda stuff happens too so don’t feel alone. Glad the good stuff outweighed the frustrations.
Well gonna head to the back with the rest. Could I get a RBF please?
Prayers for those in need.
Good evening...
Well, it looks like Fergie stirred up a hornets nest with his BNSF thread. I followed wit ha very brief (pun?) lawyer joke, and people went bonkers with that. It was a joke, people, a joke. If you you can't have fun each day, why get out of bed?
Jerry stopped by, and that was great! He likes country ham, and I'll be glad to bring some to the diner for him when he returns. It has been good of Inch to keep us informed.
Jeff.... I like that Shell station more and more.
Robby ... nice weathering of the locomotive.
I am still working on my scenry project and it will take a few more days.
Rembember to S M I L E ............Model railroading is fun!
Evenin' folks!
I see the "time out" bug returned tonight for a while. Same as always, I can get to the General Discussion page but not into any thread. Has to be a server malfunction on their end. Everywhere else works fine. So while I was waiting I sat down at the dining room table to continue reading a book on the Milk Trains of the NYO&W (Old and Weary). No sooner sat down to read than I had company:
That is Manét. He seems to know when it has become time to be cuddled....... BC, I know you understand. And yes both the boys do that headbutt thing. In cat society that means "I enjoy being here with you so pay attention to me....."
Rob glad everything was good at the docs! That headache and nausea sounds a bit like a migrane...????
I did another load of wash tonight and while it was going worked on a new project for the layout. Photo maybe tomorrow. Another scratchbuilt detail for the part of the layout that will get judged this spring for the Scenery Certificate (NMRA). I will have to built about 20 of them. Noooooo, I'm not telling you what they are just yet. When I have the first one installed and I think it looks right, I will share (and hope for your comments good or bad).
Oh! CN Charlie that sounds like some great camping weather! Got your tent packed? Nothing like sitting around a campfire this time of year, your back frozen solid and your front almost igniting from the heat.........
Ray Seneca Lake, Ontario, and Western R.R. (S.L.O.&W.) in HO
We'll get there sooner or later!
The weather is also coming here this week. Thursday the low will be 2 and Friday 0. Now that is cold. Oh, and snow/snow flurries all week.
Well y'all, I've stopped in this evening, nothing much of interest happening. I did really enjoy watching two of the local shortline RR pushing cars around this afternoon. I also enjoyed watching three CSX CW44AC's tug out an additional 22 cars from our interchange siding and tack onto the forty-three they were already pulling. Always fun watching that, especially hearing the resounding boom of the cars when they start moving, and the thundering rumble of the locomotive engines as they really started tugging. My daughter also enjoyed watching the choo-choo, although she jumped as the first sound of the trumpets as they approached the siding. She also jumped at the bang and clang as they hooked up and started moving. Kinda fun watching her reaction. Afterwards, headed home, ate pizza with the wife, we're currently sitting and watching Season 1 of The Tudors, and then I'm going to head to bed. Chloe, I'll go for a RBF, and a small plate of bacon cheese fries.
A little late for dinner. I will have a piece of that delicious looking cherry cheesecake and a decaf.
Just came back from a call... one less resident in this town. A heart attack... great way to start the week.
But, this about trains! And food! And friends! Barry, sounds like Charlie's weather is eventually come down here in a few days. Not quite that cold but cold for here. Remember, keep the smoke in the box when those 3 browsers collide!
CNCharlie; That is supposed to come this way---you can leave that so-called dry air up there ---we have enough of this freezebox stuff as it is!
We are doing an experiment here I have on this pooter 3 browsers---I got piculous and found my wireless internet thingumee(yes, another ISP--) and I am going to see if a person can get timeouted on all combos------do not be surprised at the results thereof
I thought that I would stop in for a quick bite of Jeff's pineapple chicken. Yummy.
I won't put another coat on the streambed until Friday. I know that it has been 24 hours, but it won't hurt to give it longer to set up.
Good Evening All from a very chilly Winterpeg.
And I do mean chilly, as in -20F now with a forecast -27F tonight along with a windchill of -44F. So much for my conversion to farenheit in the hopes of some + temperatures! Did I mention, its a dry cold?
Great to hear from you Jerry and I'm glad you're on the mend. Really miss your posts.
Yesterday the wife and I watched 2 rented movies which is odd for us. First we watched Bourne Identity and indeed there were some outside and lobby scenes of the Hotel Regina in Paris where we stayed over Christmas. Then we watched Bourne Supremacy which was nearly as good as "Identity". Both were very fast paced with great cinematography.
I did a little on my service yard but found that putting in 3 ground throws was a lengthy process as I had to glue in some shims first and of course one was too thick so I had to do it over. I also looked at those MicroTrain coupler kits for the tender on that MP Pacific I bought. All I can say is, "you must be kidding"! And I thought Kadee springs were small. Those things have springs inside much like the first KD's I put together in about 1958. Needless to say, my close vision isn't quite what is was then. Think I'll go buy the assembled version. I truly marvel at the work John has done on that container crane.
Well its time to go downstairs and get at the ballast glue. I have the gas fireplace on down there so its probably about 75F by now.
