Hello,
This does not really apply to railroads per say, but I thought I would post pictures of a project I have somewhat completed. I have created from scratch using styrene, paper, and ceramic clay, an HO Scale replica of Hersheypark's "Flying Falcon" amusement ride - to be added to my work-in-progress amusement park collection / future layout.
I have found links to two youtube videos that show the original:

And here are pictures of my project:Boarding position ready for riders:Starting to climb the tower:Up, Up, And Away:At the top, side view:Closeup of the center assembly:Climbing down the tower:Nobody is in line!"2 Riders Per Car, Regardless of Size:"Here we go again:Still a work in progress, but it's time to move on for now. Thanks for looking!
Nice model. I was on the ride back in the spring and it was fun. Im assuming that it is a fully functioning model?

Thank you - it is a lot of fun! Unfortunately it is just a static model. I can move it up and down the tower, but the other motions are left up to the viewer's imagination. I hoped to make it operational but in order to recreate the motions in HO Scale was too complex for my skill level and would cost too much right now.
You could probably get away with one motor to spin the main mechanism and the smaller arms w/ the vehicles and one other motor for the lift mechanism, but that may be a little pricy
