Thanks, Sue! Here is a much less altered version, wider and more colourful.

Great job everyone.
Art, I have always wondered, can you access that waterfall area?
Crandell, I love the faded colors.

Anything is possible if you do not know what you are talking about.
Nice photo! Like the K4 (built in PRR's shops). Like the fading.

You are welcome, Luke. I recognize a Berk when I see that configuration of a sand dome and pipes plus the 8 drivers. Again, thanks for taking the time to help me appreciate your fine engine.
Here is my continuation of trying to get the sentimental look with faded photos.
selector Thanks, Luke...I can now appreciate what you wanted to show us. Nice photo of a nice engine!! I wouldn't mind such a model myself...maybe some day. -Crandell

Selector said my new one was better.I could use the stool I sit on while I run trains.................
chateauricherMight I make a suggestion ? Is there any way for people to post thumbnails of their photos which we can click-to-enlarge ? These "super size" photos are way too large and make the page so wide it doesn't fit on the screen (I have to scroll right to see everything). If posters can't use thumbnails, perhaps the forum software can automatically resize the images ?

It's funny, sometimes they re-size, sometimes they don't, lol. Kinda funny in a way. And Luke, nice work on those drivers.

CNJ831 selector I can't make rhyme or reason out of it... when I first come to the thread, the images are smaller and have the banner. If I click on one of them, that one enlarges. I go away, then return to find that all images are huge and the text goes off to the right, out of sight. I am using IE7. -Crandell I agree, the situation is down right bizarre. Recently I observed the same odd problem after clicking on the banner to enlarge an image and then returning...but that's stopped now for me. However, it does still occur if I happen to refresh a page, with the images then about doubling in size and the text becoming wider than the screen. Another great inovation with the forum's new system. CNJ831

This happens constantly. Just now I had WPF pg 2 and all the images were BIG. When I went to pg 3 they were "normal" size - if anything is "normal" for the new forum!!! Speed has improved, but it is still very lacking!!!
Luke, if you don't want to get a tripod or otherwise improve your pics, don't post any. This is not meant to be mean, but when we see such poor quality pics, it is a reflection on the person posting. If you can't afford a tripod, get a bean bag, put it on a ladder/chair/table/the layout, or anything solid and take your pics that way. Reading the camera's owner's manual will often give you pointers on taking better pics - (is there a close-up setting for your camera?) It looks like you might have done a good job, but we really can't tell from your post. Keep trying
CNJ,
brilliant work! that really does look like it was taken in the 50s-60s...
Might want to hit the parent figures with a little dullcote though, the shirts are a little shiny looking....

I'm using Firefox 3. The photos (large ones) are resized to a small size and have a banner that when clicked open a new tab showing the photo in it's full size. When I come back the resized photos are still shown in the small resized format.
It does. At least on my screen using Firefox. There's a banner above each photo that can be clicked and the large photo is opened in a separate tab. The forum software Use to downsize them and allow us to simply click the images for enlargement, reclick to make them small again. Don't know what was wrong with it except I don't remember these ads to the right of the forum window. Guess I can't complain about a free service though.
Other than that, there has been an impressive collection of photos so far this weekend. Not all that surprising, really, since all of you do such incredible work.
This is what I was trying to show (oiling on drivers):
I have marco. I will go and take a pic with "marco".
New Haven I-5 Sorr if you can't tell what it is. I don't have a tripod and don't plan to buy one. I will spend that money on trains! P.S. I will a find a picture of what I am trying to show you and post it.

You don't have to use a tripod. On most point and shoot digital camera's just set your camera to the "flower" setting which is macro or "close up" on most camera's, make sure the flash is on and take the picture. If your camera doesn't have this option, then you won't be able to take clear close ups...EVER.

selector Luke, are you trying to make me laugh? C'mon......put the camera on a tripod, or support it on something tall and solid enough that you can let the shutter time itself and take a steadier image....I can see some of what you have done, but nowhere near enough. -Crandell

Here, give him my glasses. Maybe that will help!

I see some great work so far. Keep it up folks.
GREAT WORK EVERYONE!!! I won't have an oppurtunity to do anything on my RR until Sunday night, so I'll just be a spectator till then.
ARTHILL I don't consider myself a photographer, but I am trying. Here are three new photos of old scenes I took to enter in the TC division contest. I don't expect to win anything, but it is a way to share ideas.

Art,
If you submit pictures like this, and you "don't expect to win", that must be one MONSTER of a competition.
I have figured out what is wrong with my brain! On the left side nothing works right, and on the right side there is nothing left!
