Tonight we took FIL to hear a superb bluegrass band for his birthday present.

Nothing new in the train department...or should I say Train Depot.

 Hello again, Diners

Perhaps some of you may be interested in one of my old locomotives. I've been running several locomotives to test my new track an this is one of them. The picture is on older track by my flour mill. The old Bowser 4-8-4 still runs like a champ. I'll post a CZ picture in WPF next. have fun everybody.

Jeff,  Good idea for a pedestrian bypass.  We are always looking for new ideas.Thumbs Up

der,  I can't believe how much you have acomplished on your layout.

Good Evening All,

I'll have a coffee and some apple pie ala mode if Phil has left any. Long cold windy day today cleaning out a 30 year accumulation of paint cans and "stuff". Found a few 110/220 electric motors to have checked out and lots of unrecognizable items. The new shed is just about full and the house is just about gutted.

Packers 1 - Happy Birthday a bit late in the day and all but .... Sounds like you made quite a haul and all useful stuff as well. No argyle socks from Auntie ?

Jerry - hope the party went well. It's nice most of the kids were going to be there.

Der - spent the day ducking under that loop and only hit my head a couple of times. Practice helps, no? I agree - the hard hat just makes it more difficult. With a little work I bet you can hit hard enough to sit yourself down. Smile

Well another full day tomorrow ought to do it except for the radiators and furnace which will need to wait for more help. Then it's back to refinishing furniure and getting ready to move shop while the crew does the house. Catch y'all tomorrow.   J.R.

Good evening one and all: I’ll have a black tea, and a bowl of those Oat O cereal things, with Mango and Passion fruit yogurt stirred in, instead of milk. A dusting of powdered cloves on that please Janie. Thanks Flip, it’s great to see you again.

Jeff: That pedestrian bridge is really beautiful, and the photo sure shows it off.Bow  I made one from a card kit on my B.C. layout.  It was a Brit (GWR) type, and I had it on a LNER brick built station…bit of a stretch for a BC Rail subdivision!  Nothing like as detailed, or as large, just double track.

Ray:

Hey Waitress, what's her name? (don't know the staff this time of day yet...) I'll have some decaf as long as Flip is buying.
…Great th ing about this place is the virtual staff.  They change as soon as you call a name, so it doesn’t matter, and Vinnie becomes Vito just as soon as Flip says so!

Blownout:

Jeff; This almost looks like the ped. overpass in Palmerston ON. The photo gives it a presence...
…We were living in Clifford when the old overpass at Harriston was made into a grade crossing.  The bridge had been built some time like 1910,  and was made from 12x12 B.C. cedar.  That timber was still in terrific condition 60 to 70 years later.

Bedtime, so I’ll say goodnight, and God Bless.  Prayers for all in need of healing, comfort and peace.Angel

Evening Gang: I finally got the mesquites grubed out. At least I think that I got them all. I may find some in the spring that I missed or didn't get all of the tape root. One nice thing about working in that field is it is right next to the UP tracks. Lots of train watching the last few days.

Happy Birthday Packers. I'm 52 years ahead of you. Jeff you're still a youngster.

Right now I'm aching and really thinking about going to bed.

Here's something for you all to ogle at. It's a Model Power copy of a Heljan pedestrian bridge. That doesn't mean it didn't have a whole bunch of little bitty pieces. It took me about three weeks to put it together. This photo was taken in almost no light because I wanted a twilight effect. Focal length=6mm, exposure time=2 seconds, f/2.9, ISO=400.

Packers#1; Happy B-Day  Do you have a warehouse? Another 4x8? OK you do have a warehouse. Do you do your own wiring? Have a good one!

Nah, I don't have a warehouse, lol. Reason I went for so much rolling stock is that I'm trying to replace all my old bachmann cars w/ Atlas. It's now at 2 hoppers, 7 boxcars for the new cars, a decent start. I now have a plan for that 4x8, and bought the rest of the track I'll need today at the LHS.

Desktop layout is gone ya'll, and thank the lord for it, now I've got a desk where it's heated.

Nah! On page 70. bottom left of Boise car.

Oooo, Ooooo, Ooooooo (hand raised!)  I know, I know!!!!!!!!

Evenin' all!  I had a great day with a bunch of fellow Model Railroaders.  Picked some brains for new ideas for the division.  One of the MMRs was not able to be there but he was kind enough to e-mial some of his thoughts fro district activities to me.  The other two folks that came from the district and I spent about an hour discussing ideas and we all are on the same wavelength.  The gentleman who just moved to this area a couple of years ago brought a newsletter from his old division (Dallas, TX) that had exactly some of the kinds of things I was hopping to have brought up.  That also dovetailed nicely with the e-mail.  My treasurer who has been in that position for many years came in with some very similar ideas.  If we can put these into motion this district will have some real fun...Big Smile  Oh, I should mention over here that I am the new Superintendent of the Lakeshores Division, Niagra Frontier Region, NMRA.  We also spent about an hour and a half running some trains, and as is always par for the course, had several derailments..........  In places that nothing has ever derailed before!

Doggone!!!!  Jeffrey beat me to it!  Darn!

Hey Waitress, what's her name? (don't know the staff this time of day yet...) I'll have some decaf as long as Flip is buying.  Maybe a slice of Pumpkin pie with some Vanilla Ice Cream on it.  You know that Pie al la Calories stuff.  Yep, that's it!  Don't forget, decafe, I won't be sleeping tonight if I have regular, especially after today!

Yo,Jeff- What is that thing in bottom left of pix? Overgrown hedgehog???

Did your package arrive?

If you're referring the pic of the old steamer that's a small tree with some bushes just beyond it.

Yes, the package arrived yesterday.

Been doing a bit of work on the layout today. I got the pedestrian bridge in place and I did a bit of relighting work at the back of the layout.

Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone! Yeah, I did clean up. Tongue Mainly because my sister got a bike for her birthday back in April, so my parents spent more on me. Altogether, it was about $200. I set up a favorites folder w/ links to everything, and they ordered it all, lol.

So today, I'm going to take my allowance, and w/ a card my LHS sent me for my b-day ($10 off a purchase of $25 or more), I'm going to get some track and set up another 4x8 layout. Going to dismantle my desktop layout though, time to move on.

Good morning, All.  I guess some of you are thinking about lunch already.  We are going to my brothers for Thanksgiving dinner this afternoon.  Looks like we will be partying for a week.Dinner

I am trying to get the ambition to do ground goop on the other side of the stream bed.  If I do it today, I can do the streambed tomorrow, and then Larry can start finalizing the trestle.  I am the one holding up progress now.

Rob,  Sorry that your mare is not doing well.

Hello everybody!

Sawyer:   Happy Birthday Happy B-Day and congratulations for all the neat presents!

Lee ........  Sorry to hear you are sick.  Tongue Get well soon!  TG is almost here and you have a layout needing work

Jerry says his borther is cooking 20 pounds of pork. Would you like some KY BBQ sauce for that?...Or ask jeff if he still has some of that "bomb" sauce. Twenty pounds is good for you; what will your brother eat? DinnerWhistling

Yes, PC does work for the phone comapny.  That's his hang up.

I'm really pleased with the track on my newly added lower level loop. None of my trains derails on it; even the most "picky" of my locomotives. Nothing needed any adjusting. I should be able to start building the upper level loop immediately after Thanksgiving weekend.

Happy Model Railroading!

Mornin' everyone!

I'll have a bottomless cup of dark roast and a short stack of pancakes this morning.

We got around 3" of white fluffy stuff over night and they are calling for 2" to 4" more of it today here in the Finger lakes.  Of course today is the day that several other train nuts are supposed to come over for a short meeting for Lakeshores Division NMRA to discuss meets and other activities.  (Two of them are MMRs. One has recently moved into the division and the other is Super of a neighboring division.)  I will have to wait and see if they decide to come or not.  Oh well, the train room needed a lot of cleaning anyway.... Wink

Lee I know that section of I-90 all too well...  I have driven it several times over the years and don't like the traffic even when the weather is good!  She is a good, careful driver and will find a place to get off the road if the conditions get too bad.  Thanks!

Mornin' Philip

Jeffrey it is currently 19°F where I am, but will get up to 26°F today!!! Sigh

Packers1............. Happy Birthday to ya !!!! Thumbs Up  Hey, way back almost half a century ago I was that age too.  Enjoy yourself and have a blast with the new stash of rolling stock and everything else!

Rob hope the mare and the cat both recover well.

Well, I still have more house cleaning to do just in case the visitors do manage to come over.  See you all later!

in a SOUTHERN mug, please & thank you.

Both phone & internet have been down for a couple days. Been a busy time here. Outside painters are doing their thing. Hopefully they will finish up today.

Sandy (old mare) isn't doing as well as we had hoped. Might have to call our Vet out, which I really dread.

Smitty (cat) injured his same leg as before so is relegated to the enclosed porch. Wife is giving him penicillin. He's a good natured, tough cat.

***Jerry, hope you had a wonderful Birthday. Sorry I missed the cake.

Gotta do critter rounds. Have a great day, all. Cowboy Rob

2 Atlas plastic pellet hoppers
A new MRC Tech 4 220, w/ momentum (I love it)
GMR 2007
A new watch
a cool cross made from metal w/ the base being a shell casing (bullet)
A new Packers hat (knit cap)
3 CDs (two ealier Pillar CDs, and Relient K's newest)
A pikestuff 2 dr. enginehouse
pikestuff roof vents
and a few other things I'm sure I'm forgetting.

That's a pretty good haul.

The trip was cancelled--not by snow but by a last minute bosscall. Someone didn't do a job.

I know what that's like. When I was a security guard I once had to work three 12 hour shifts back to back to back because the assigned guards couldn't make it in for various reasons. After making the rounds for 36 hours straight (no breaks) I was glad to get home and fall onto the bed.
