Philip, you mean you don't ride the bike during blizzards? How come? You must be one of those "Fair Weather" Bikers!
I'll ride if it's 40 degrees or above. Below that it's just not fun anymore. At that point, about the only enjoyment you get is in knowing that you survived!
pcarrellNow, let me just pick up that lunch tab for you all!
Why Thank You Philip! Flo, I'll have one last Hot Turkey Sandwich, Fries w/gravy, a tall glass of OJ, and the last of that Pumpkin Pie! (All the rest of the Turkey is now in the freezer for lunches later...... much later!) The carcase is being boiled down for the annual Turkey Soup. It won't be ready until tomorrow though........,..
Been doing all the monthly e-mails that I have to get out for Deacons as Moderator every month (meeting notice, agenda, minutes of the last meeting, and other info). Still trying to get some end of the year things to fall in place........ Also waiting for a friend who works for the church to let me know when we can check out the repairs to the mic wiring today.
Have Martin Luther King Committee meeting this evening and hopw to find some time to work in the train room as well.
Hope everyone has a great day!

We'll get there sooner or later!
Good morning, coffee please.
Philip, That would be a tough contest in the wintertime.

Anything is possible if you do not know what you are talking about.
Man! What a BUSY MORNING!
That 4 day weekend blew past, and now this morning is almost gone! Where's the time going?
So check this out.........
Saturday was halfway decent, so I rode my motorcycle up to the local shop to have them look at a couple of things. While I'm hanging around, some guy who works there comes up and asks me if I'd like to win a $200 gift certificate. I said sure, what do I have to do? I'm thinking I'll have to fill out a little card with my email address or something so they can spam me to death, right? No.........He says, "You register your bike and mileage with us at the beginning of the winter (now remember, I live in Indiana) and then at the end of the winter we see who rode the most miles over the winter and the winner gets the gift certificate." So I look at him a second or two, and then I asked him, "That's not a contest you really want to win, is it?" I'm thinkin', if you win that contest, are you really a winner.....REALLY?
Now, let me just pick up that lunch tab for you all!
Good Morning All...We have an inch or so of wet snow and still snowing lightly and 29 here...I'll have coffee and a English muffin please...Thank You...I ruffed in"hill" this morning and cut pad for track cleaning car and glued nails to it so I can mount it under a box car..The one I built years ago in HO worked well but not sure if it will work in N scale...I'll try to get some photos later but memory card is full of Grand baby photos that will go to Wal-Mart to be printed and if I messed them up Sallie would have me sleeping on the front porch tonite...You all have a good one ...Jerry
Good morning, everybody.....
Coffee for me. No food. I'm still full from all the eacting over the past few days.
I started work on my upper level of my layout expansion yesterday evening. Not much else to report.
Happy Model Railroading.

***Jim, last time they power co. was here with thte cherry picker, they removed all the branches from that old pine, but left the trunk. I encouraged them to knock down the whole tree, but they wouldn't. You can actually hear the pine beetles (or some insects) chewing away inside it. I don't know what is keeping it standing.
****Paul, around the farm it's the peakocks that seem to sabotage me every few days with "stealth poop" on some implement or gate chain.
***Jerry, share some pics of that hill when you create it. Been thinking the wife's layout would be well suited for a divider, rather than trying to combine a circus/carnival with mountian folk doings.
***RT, that's a hoot. We only have one indoor cat "Millie" she likes to leave her toys on the steps. Doesn't she know if she kills us off there will be nobody to feed her?
Have to run get some more grout for the tilers, as they are running out and can finish today if they get another two bags. Gotta run.
Healing thoughts to those in need.
Rob
Morning, Zoe - I'll have ham and scrambled eggs please, with a glass of Ed's OJ and a cup of the TH. Thanks!
Paul, cleaning off that welder doesn't sound too great, but I'm sure you're glad that is done (and the tarp is a good idea).
Jeff, the trees look good that you planted, and they should keep the winds down around that house (saving it some on the utilities, even in 1:87 scale...).
RT, we tried to warn you.- I'm sure that your four-legged critters got on and chatted with Spooky, Remington and Spring last night while you were sleeping. Imagine the 'fun' Tom would have if he had cats like Boots.
We're having a little bit of snowflakes this a.m. but it's above freezing (barely - high today MIGHT hit 40 F), so no accumulation. I think tomorrow it'll break the 40's (F). Thank Heaven for little things! Sorry for those of you up the Ohio River valley and along the Lakes today. I saw that some areas got up to 5 inches of the white stuff and are expected to get as much as another 3 inches today, with winds.
Galaxy, hope you get to HD today and can get some done on the layout. Do you have one of those lights for your SAD? I forgot how much they run, but I know one of our admin. people uses one of them.
Looks like Bill T. is burned out on turkey this a.m. (note his smiley), as may be several of us today. But hey - there's open face turkey sandwiches with gravy, turkey hash, turkey sandwich mix, and a few others that escape my memory at the moment...
Think I'll slip into the corner booth and start on breakfast 'til the other Diners get in.
Blessings on your Monday,
Jim in Cape Girardeau
Morning guys.
{snap} Chloe, an spanish omelette por favor!
ANYTHING but turkey or chicken. Had fillet mignon for real last night. Ahhhhhhh......
For those wondering {and for those who don't know} I am starting to feel better after being out of the hospital finally. I still play my favorite songs over and over and withdraw sometimes, I also have not been outside since TG day, which still has my other half worried some. I really miss the medication I used to take that I began reacting badly too. It worked "wonders" at keeping me balanced. Jan Feb Mar have always been very hard psychiatrically and depression wise on me,and they approach fast. It's call SAD Seasonal Affective Disorder in addition to the Bipolar.
This week we hope to put up the tree. I will cut a new board on which to build a new layout {simple- not much room for complex} for under the tree. One thing I need to watch out for is becoming manic over building it and becomming obsessed with it. Then again that may just get me out of clinical deep depression. As long as I don't turn manic i should at least enjoy that. This will be first year to have DCC trains under tree......
Have pulmonary function test for my asthma today so I will get out. Want to go to HD for the wood, too.
Hope everyone has a smashingly good day!

After long and careful thought, they have convinced me. I have come to the conclusion that they are right. The aliens did it.

Good morning. It's 39 and clear. The high will be in the high 50's and it will be partly cloudy. My two Atlas GP40's are pulling a 23 car train around the layout this morning and aren't having a bit of trouble, and these are weighted cars too so it's no lightweight. The train is around 16 feet long. The BNSF SD40 is pulling a 19 car train around the inner loop. I don't expect to get much done on the layout today. I have to go see my PCP to get a referral to continue seeing the foot specialist whom I have to go see this afternoon. I also have to get refills on some of my prescriptions, including my insulin. What a joy that's gonna be. I planted 15 trees last night then hit the sack early. I was worn out. I planted 3 elms, 6 conifers and 6 cedars. I'll say one thing for Bachmann, their Scene Scape trees look pretty good but they are pricey, $10 for a box of 6, 3 in the case of the elms. Rob and Jim I'll have you know I have 4 legged monsters here ( all cats) anyway when I got up this am ( dark in house) I walked to kitchen to get drink tripping half way there as it seems somebody ( 4 legged) pulled the 2 standard gauge passenger cars off the track and put them between the coffee table and the hutch ( trains unhurt me cussing) they like to play with them 2 and don't know it you know but a standard gauge passenger car isn't that light and the only thing kept them from draggin any further I guess is that they were still connected to the engine and they could n't move that lol thank goodness
By the way mine aren't maine coon but I have 1 thats 24 LBS thats boots one thats 22 LBS and one thats 19 LBS the rest are smaller thank goodness. Although the 22 LBS cat daddy was a wild cat that had minx in him I was told and hes as gental as can be but the boss of the other cats.

JimRCGMOJeff, good to hear that you won't be tagging every car you get - that Santa Fe looks pretty good. Sounds like you did all right at H-L. Did you use their 40 percent off coupon this weekend? I'm not sure, but it seems like they're running the 40 percent off one the past couple or three weeks. I like that new consist of yours, too. Looks like some major power coming through.
Hobby Lobby has a 30% discount on some mr items so the 40% coupon made for a good price cut on the hopper. So I got the hopper at 40% off, the tank car at regular price and the three boxes of trees at 30% off each box. All in all a pretty good savings.
Good Sunday night all.....Hope you all had a good week-end...My Daughter picked up Grand Daughter Tootie this evening sure is quiet round here...My brother brought me some scrap Masonite and I am going to try to use it to make a track cleaning car with it..I built one in HO years ago so I am going to try it in N scale...Also got a idea to buid a small hill as a break from city to country Planning to try to mock it up out of "pink" board...You all have a good night...Jerry
Evening Gang: I got the weight back on the root plow. I lifted it with the Kubota that has the grapple on the bucket. I just grabbed it on th etop of the rail and layed it in place. This time I did some extra welding so it should stay in place. I also pulled out the welder that was parked in the shed under where the gineas roost. It took a couple of hours and the pressure washer to get the poop cleaned off. I used it to do the welding. DC is much better for heavy duty welding. From now on it stays out under a tarp.
The mesquite wood makes beautiful furniture. It really has a great color and grain.
Welcome F-unit. Have a cold drink on me.
Well I guess I'll hit the sack.
Good Night All
JimRCGMOSo, hey, is that you at the end of the table in your photo, or were you behind the camera? Nice lawn treatment, too.
Nope, not I.... I was behind the camera. That is my oldest son next to his daughter. As far as the lawn, Love this time of year. The lawn mower has been put away!
Cederstrand***Ray, your granddaughter is adorable. Looks cold outside there. Did you make any snow men trains?
Well I think she is! But then I may be prejudiced! No snow trains yet, but I did observe a clown who did a 360° stop at my corner............. Maybe she should have driven less than the 30 MPH speed limit on the ice rather than more......
Tall glass of cool lemon water, please & thanks.
***Ray, your granddaughter is adorable. Looks cold outside there. Did you make any snow men trains?
***Vincent: [Quite possibly the only BN modeler in the southeast.] Is this a challenge? I have an affinity for BN colors, as they use to run behind my apt in WA once a week or so. Excellent choice! Not to worry though, I switched to steam and am sticking with AT&SF, Santa Fe, UP, Southern and Southern Pacific lines.
***Garry, that 4-4-4-4 is Way Cool.
***Der, your container crane sure looks sharp. How much time do you have in it thus far?
I did a bad bad bad thing tonight. I bought something I sure don't need for my future layout. It's just that I felt so sorry for the UP SD90/43MAC downstairs, all by itself, with no other diesels to talk to. OK, I'll get to it, I bought this:
Have been wanting it since the first time I saw one. Let's see, if the big MAC is my "designated (N scale) Christmas Train", then perhaps this little one could be a "Thanks Giving Train?" Gotta be a way to justify it somehow!
and in a different position….
I feel the same way. A couple years ago, here at work, They changed the Kids Christmas party to Holiday party and then also changed our staff Christmas party to Holiday Party. That was it for me and I wrote a letter to our communications and HR departments and let them know just how I felt. I got a long song and dance about it but they did change the Staff party back to Christmas but the kids party is a holiday party.________________ Here was my note:I'm sorry but this just bugs me to no end. It has taken me a few days to get my thoughts together on this subject and the following is not meant to offend anyone. These are my thoughts and feelings on this subject.I am very disappointed that we as a Canadian company feel the need to take Christmas out of the upcoming holiday season. This is not just a holiday party it is a CHRISTmas party. I know we live in a Multi cultural society but it is after all Canada and for centuries it has been Christmas not just a holiday. I realize that it is done this way as not to offend other "religious" communities but now you offend one of the largest "religious" groups in this country, of which I am one. It is not just Canadians that celebrate Christmas, many other countries celebrate Christmas for the very same reason we do.What makes it even more disappointing to me is it is not the "other" religious groups that are trying to change Christmas, it is people that were born and raised in the Christian environment. I have spoke with other religious groups and they don't expect us to change our holiday for them nor do they want us to. At the same time we do not ask them to change their beliefs, so why do we as Canadians think we have to change Christmas to accommodate other religions when they really don't ask us to in the first place? If our Christmas is changed then what is to stop other groups from having their holidays changed or taken away? From talking with other employees, I know I am definitely not in the minority in feeling this way. I would like to say please do not take out Christmas from our holiday season, After all had it not been for Christ being born there would not even be a Christmas holiday in the first place._________________ Their response: ""Hi Allan,“X” forward this to me to respond to (“X”reports to me), as she has quite a bit on her plate with the party being on Saturday.I read your e-mail and I completely understand that others feel the same way as you. We were trying to be as accepting as possible of all groups that would like to celebrate the Holiday season with their co-workers, friends and family. We have had some concerns expressed to us, we will review these for next year and a corporate decision on the title will be made. Please keep in mind, nothing about the event has changed. It has been organized in the exact same way it was for the last few years. We hope you and your family as well as those who have organized and are volunteering at the event will be able to enjoy the party regardless of what the event is called.Thank you,""---------------- Even though they only changed the adult party back to Christmas I will accept it as a small victory. When people start taking Christ out of Christmas I just plain get fired up and there ain't no getting that bee out of my bonnet.....if I wore a bonnet that is. Merry Christmas to you and your family John. Oh I just put up some of the outside lights last night. AlYou do not stop playing because you grow old;You grow old because you stop playing. Now, go play with some trains!!! ............ ........ ....... _____ _II__()__i__|_|+|((|__|------------|--II//oo-O-O-O-O-oowww.wolfvalleyrr.wordpress.com

Evening all been stopping in but not posting haven't had much to say heres a pic of our Christmas tree and 2 of my train sets top train is O gauge the bottom is my standard gauge set.
You may notice that I have 2 Fanta boxcars one is from the mid 70's and is made by Lionel as the rest of the train is and the other is from the 80's and made by K-Line and is actually better made it has spung trucks and applied ladder's not molded in like the rest of the cars its the one with the black ladders on the side.
Oh yeah thats boots our guard cat on the couch lol
Hello DIners!
I skimmed over posts for recent days, and see that lots of food was consumed and there were some terrific familiy visits. That's just wonderful!
We, too, had some great times. We had family crew from Ohio and from Michigan in town. We ate lots. It was just great. The grandkids put together a neat layout with the wooden train set we have here. A highlight was our 7 year old grand daughter sang a solo in church that was absolutley amazing! We visited relatives in Nashville yesterday.
I posted these phtos in Weekend Photo Fun. You can read about them there. I remakred about my PRR T-1 a few days ago.
I knew that........... I just couldn't resist a play on words.

Nope. I can barely wait for my F45. Also can't wait for the christmas music to go away (one week of listening to it before december even gets here gets annoying)
I got myself a sound/dcc GP30 a few hours ago; however, I only bought it to get the sound chassis to put under one of my existing GP30s.
Vincent
Wants: 1. high-quality, sound equipped, SD40-2s, C636s, C30-7s, and F-units in BN. As for ones that don't cost an arm and a leg, that's out of the question....
2. An end to the limited-production and other crap that makes models harder to get and more expensive.
Thought I would show what was the best part of thanksgiving. My Granddaughter digging into a piece of homemade pumkin pie using her father's fork from when he was her age.....
Someone wanted more Turkey? here's some!
And what it did all day here..........

Hi I want more turkey and i want it now!!!

A raw day here, cold blowing rain. Still beats no rain, I'll take what we can get.
