How do you code that link to your photos that says "View my layout photos"?  I had one in my sig in the old forum, but this new software seems to want something else.  Now just the label is showing up, without the live link to my RailImages albums.

I was having a devil of a time getting it coded, even on the old Forum.  I finally e-mailed Bergie and he set it up for me.  I don't know how, but suddenly it turned up on my signature and transferred over to the new forum.  He's really nice about doing favors like that.  He even uploaded the code for my other Photobucket album.  Send him an e-mail, explain the situation and he should do it for you.

Looking forward to posting into your photo website, BTW.   For one, I've missed your postings.  Glad you're back.

Evening Gang: I got to clean the corrals again today. That took about an hour and a half. Then I had to give that heifers a fresh bale of hay. The one I gave them the other day was not very good. In fact it was really bad. I think that it got baled while too damp and was full of weeds to boot. Anyway the new bale was better. I also cleaned up the area where we put out the hay for the rest of the herd. I'll tell you the poop really piles up. I need to find the parts for the manure spreader fast.

I did get the parts for the trucks laid out and started to sand blast them. I got to the last set and ran out of blasting medium about half way through. Figures.

Cary I'm happy to hear that you are doing well and that your family is doing well. Good to hear that you have been accepted for the border patrol. I'll sleep better with you on the job.

Ed I think that yu had better post a whole bunch to make up for making us worried. I kind of figured that you were off in the great north. How are Fran and your son doing? Up date please.

Well I guess I'll head for bed. tomorrow is a school day and we have to get up early. No we arn't going back to school but we have to take care of the granddaughters. They arrive about 6:30. The oldest gets on the school bus and the youngest we take to pre school. We get back home about 9:30 and then we get to go pick up the youngest at 12 noon. There is never a dull moment anymore.

I have mentioned different times to the CFO that it would be nice to have a steam loco in the 7.5" gauge as well as take up flying again. She said it wouldn't be a problem,but there are some other things that I would have to give up (motorcycle,HO trains,R/C planes as well as some other things) and I don’t think I am ready to do that. In other words,guess who gets the last word and over many,many,many,many moons of marriage I think I might have learned.

I don't anticipate getting much done today as I have two doctors appointments to go to. The first is this morning to the foot doc so he can poke and prod my feet some more and the second is this afternoon to my primary care provider so he can poke and prod me all over. Maybe I'll be able to get started on the top roof of the coaling station. I'm also working on a 4 track pedestrian bridge so my people don't have to be walking across the tracks.

Morning everyone.  It's actually CLOUDY out here in SunnyCal today, and we're supposed to get some kind of precipitation by the weekend.  Hope its more than just a little drizzle, when I was up near Truckee this weekend, you could actually see SHORELINE on Donner Lake, that's how dry it's been.  We NEVER see shoreline on Donner Lake, you're supposed to step out of the back-door of your summer home and right into 800 feet of VERY frigid water, LOL! 

Fergie:  AWWWWWWWWW!!!!  She's so CUTE!  And I"m sure that Miss Molly will get over her little sad tiff and adopt her within a week.  Dogs are much more sociable to each other than cats, who tend to carry their own personal 'space' around with them all the time.  I notice that since Lowell's gone, Spooky's personal space has increased to include the entire house.  And she's underfoot all the time, with that "Where are you going, Daddy and why am I not included" meow of hers.  I think I'll hit the animal shelter in a couple of weeks before she gets TOO wrapped up in herself--and me.  Look for a male kitten that she can either raise or ignore. 

Mark:  Those photos were HILARIOUS!  Especially the penguin with the cymbals.  I fell out of the chair.  Thanks for sharing them. 

Well, my Z-6 should be in by late December, according to rumors at the LHS.  Hope my Yellowstones don't get too jealous, LOL!  I've been looking over my brass roster, and I think that I'll make the Z-6 the last purchase (yah, sure! ).  Well, at least for a while.  Of course, the Roseville MR show hasn't happened yet, so God only knows what will happen when I go over there.  Last year it was my Basket Case Yellowstone.  This year I think I'll just put on a pair of blinders.  Yah, right. 

Well, it's a nice cool day today, so guess I'll head out to the California Basement and do some fiddling around with the trains.  Wouldn't you know it, yesterday I posted a photo of the Deer Creek yard, and last night when I was doing some switching moves, one of my Sinohara turnouts went dead.  Ah, the joys of tinkering!   Sometimes I think this hobby is a lot like smoking a pipe--you spend more time fiddling with the equipment than you ever do using it.

Tom, I really like your Deer Creek Yard also. Got a diagram of what the whole yard (approaches and connecting tracks as well) looks like? Or can you crank that high-level creeper of yours up for an aerial photo of the yard?

Lee, I'm probably okay on my ShopVac, as that is its proper name, rather than Ridged. Whew!  Ah, you lucky Great Lake people - tomorrow we'll have some frost (possibly) to scrape. I saw some video on the morning show as I was getting ready for work, of blowing snow in Cedar Rapids (Iowa). Said they were having some wind damage to go with that. At the rate you're getting snow, I might need to get me one of those rotary plows!

Paul, you had me wondering when you started talking about going back to school... Thought they revoked your high school diploma for some reason.  

Gonna stop by the local electrical supply place after work today to get the barrier terminal strips for my wiring. Sounds like they have the right size ones.

The good weather is about to end here tonight, storms are abrewin, even snow in the forecast for late tomorrow in Wednesday.

In an attempt to get more shelf room in my MRR workshop, I decided to clear two shelves above the halfwall of many years accumulation of books. One row contains all the National Geographic mags from 1967 to present, and the second row contains a full set of Collier's Encyclopedias plus all the yearbooks to year 2000. I think I'll store them in attic as there doesn't seem to be a market for them presently.

JIM: Politicians giving us a nice raise?? You are correct my friend.

FERGIE: Whew, I thought you got another dog there for a minute, a rug rat no less. I knew you were a BIG DOG person.

DUKE: A lump of coal??? Have you been bad this year ???

FLU SHOT INFO: It is now recommended that older folks ( ROF's ) get a more potent larger flu shot. Why? Because as we get older our immune systems are not as strong as they were when we were younger, so the standard dose shots are not really strong enough to produce enough anti-bodies against the flu. Play it again Sam.

I'm baaaaaaaaack! Well, ok, I've been back for about a day, but I was to tired last night to drop by the diner (although I did drop by TMRP). Well, I worked my tail off this weekend, so my grandma gave me a $100 bill for my work (I would have worked just as hard for $0). My TV didn't work when we first got up there, so she was going to give me that to get a new one, and then it started working, but she gave me the money anyways. So, my parents made me save $20, but I ended up saving $23.something. So here's what I bought today:

At the LHS (Time Zone hobbies & Toys): 3 life-like shakers of turf (dark green, light green, light yellow), a fair sized bag of woodland scenics medium blended gray ballast, a tube of plastic cement, a paintbrush, 6 pieces of 6 in. straight Atlas code 80 snap track, and Great Model Railroads 2009. The guy there gave me a coupon a little early and let me use it, so I got $10 off what would have been a $60 purchase. I also took a peek at their locos, they had some Athearn SD70whatevers, a Life-like F40PH, an Atlas central of Georgia DCC equipped unit for $118 (I love atlas, but i don't need DCC. Probably would have begged my mom to let me buy the unit and not save anything if it was a $100 DC version), and some b-mann standard line I didn't even ask about, but I stuck w/ the scenery stuff.

Then I went to a store called Lids in the mall and bought a $27 Packers cap to replace my old one. I like it, and I still got the old one. Now, to come up w/ my RR's history and maybe ebay off the stuff I don't need (probably my GP30 and some frieght cars). I'll talk w/ them and our pastor (my dad's friend who bid on that GP35 for me) and see if he will sell the stuff for me. I don't think this would count as advertising, because I'm not actually sure if I can/will sell it.

Basketball season starts for us Nov. 5th. I'm just playing church league, so a practice, maybe two, on the weekdays, and then a game on Saturday. And my birthday is less than a month away (yay me, lol).

I was watching Sportscenter this morning, did you guys see the tampa bay-Dallas football game highlights on there. I was loling when I saw Cato June messing w/ Mark Columbo. June is a linebacker for Tampa Bay, and he's probably what, 5' 9", 5' 10" maybe, and Mark Columbo is an offensive lineman, probably wieghs about 150-200 lbs. more than June and oh, maybe 6, 7, 8 in. taller, and you see little June standing in front of the guy, and Columbo is towering over June, and Columbo is seriopuskly POed. I said it looks like David vs. Goliath, but David forgot his sling.

Colts-Titans tonight, wonder who'll win. I'm just watching it cause it's football.

MNF is on the TV right now. It's cold here too, around 46 degrees Farenhiet. Of course, that's jeans and t-shirt weather for me, but I'll wear a hoody outside if i can, just to be real comfortable. I love it when it gets cold.

Evening Gang: Well another day and it was cold this morning, 42 degrees to be precise. I got the floors installed in the two 50ft gons and finished blasting and painting the truck parts. I also found out that I am one pair of trucks short. At $350 a pair rtr that's serious. I have some old parts for non sprung trucks that I may use on the two 40 ft. gons since I'll be using them for ballast hauling. The lack of springing dosen't bother the ballast.

Duke if you get a piece of coal that's a start. Get enough coal and then say that you need a locomotive since it would be wastfull to not use the coal. That sounds sensibly to me.

Fergie: The winnie dog looks great. We have our daisy. She is black with some brown and a great little girl. They have the most worring look when they look at you.

Lee I see that alot of boats are heading for anchor. There are storm warmings out on Superior, Michigan, and Huron that I have heard. I guess that the Fitz has made an impression on folks.

Well I am going to hit the sack. Tomorrow I want to put the trucks back together and get them installed. Then I need to letter the cars and they are ready for the road.

    Busy day today between meetings on the new shop, getting everything settled after the end of the season and getting the rest of the house emptying started. While I was lounging at the track this weekend, the CFO got the rest of the shingles on the shed roof so we can start filling it up which is what I did after w..k until dark arrived. Got most of the plastic boxes for the layout moved so tomorrow it'll be the drum sets and keyboards then the cabinets. once we get the rest of the "stuff"out it'll be back to stripping out the rest of the plaster lath walls. No end of fun but the demolition is getting easier with practice. 

     Interesting football game tonight - what Giants fan would'a thought Kerry Collins would be leading a 6-0 team? Oh well - time to get some sleep.   CUL, J.R.

Mark, I think I've seen that sidewalk artist's stuff before, and he is fantastic! I'm sure a bunch of people going by do double-take after looking at it.

At our MRR club tonight, it was tracklaying time again - I laid three sidings (at the gravel plant location), and one of the approach tracks into the adjacent town. There, the track coming into the town goes from single layer cork, tapers down to the track being on bare plywood in the town area (but the gravel plant on the other end of town is on cork). Think I'm getting a little better on that (and keeping the track straight).

Also placed an order with our MRR club member/LHS owner for some things from the sale flyer that runs out on Friday. We'll see how much of it he can get for me Pretty much all of it on sale. I ordered a couple of the Fresh Cherries Ford pickups, some Scenemaster loads for freight cars, the deluxe Cushman scooter set, a Rix grain elevator (to go with some Rix siloes that I bought a bit back, and to go with the Farmers' Co-Op Grain Elevator kit), some W-S figures (newsstand and depot people) and the Durango Press mining equip. set with the 18" gauge track. Oh yeah, and a bulk transfer conveyor kit (for my coal stop).

So, Dick - are you going for a double decker layout, and you want to run another level above your tables? I know what you mean about never too much layout room... And hey! - dachshunds are cute little dogs! (I had one when I was young)

I'll be at the table by the potbellied stove, keeping my toes warm. We'll see how many dogs are needed for  the bed tonight. Not sure if we'll have frost in Cape G., as there're clouds and a fairly good clip of a wind for now.

Prayers for a warm spot to be tonight, and nobody having to dig out your vehicle in the morning.

Doctors visits went OK. I got them both wrapped up this morning so I wouldn't have to make another trip into town. Got home and found that the cable internet was out - again! It stayed out until about 9 pm and is still having speed problems. Someday someboby is going to put a load of buckshot into the booster that's causing these problems, then the company will HAVE to fix it.
