I live in Carrollton, Illinois, which is about as boring as Iowa. Not a thing to do all year but work or build railroad car kits. Since the only city anyone has ever heard of that's located in Illinois is Chicago, I'll say that Carrollton is roughly 60-70 miles north of St. Louis. Carrollton is on the Kansas City Southern's Gateway Western division with BNSF trackage rights.

I'm also in Iowa, but a Nebraskan at heart. My wife and I are both from there. About 4 years to go and I would love to go to the southwest. NM or AZ. I have never seen such beautiful country.

Life is simple - eat, drink, play with trains!

I live in cenral Missouri--just about as midwest as one can get. Rolling hills, cattle, trees--and not that many people to get in the way of my train watching.
