MOLOCO seems to have dropped the castings from their catalog that converted a flat car into to classic transfer caboose of a type that many roads used -- basically a steel shed on a flat car or old tender frame.

But all is not lost since the trains.com website itself has an article on building one:

Here's a suggestion.  Technically not a "transfer caboose" -- but it looks like one.  Available at Doc's Caboose hobby shop in Kansas City last time I was there a month or so ago.

Contact docscaboose@yahoo.com

Keep in mind, this is a resin kit -- not styrene or ABS.

By the way N scale modelers who want a transfer caboose are in luck because Matt Gaudynski, one of the midwest's finest modelers and custom painters, operates Fox Valley Models and has brought in beautiful transfer cabooses.  I saw these at last year's Trainfest and they are exquisite jewels of detail.

If I do this right this photo

Click the "In The Yard" link. About halfway down you'll find "NEW YORK CENTRAL/PENN CENTRAL/CONRAIL N6A TRANSFER CABOOSE"

WrightTrak models are on the expensive side, but they are outstanding resin kits. Gary Wright is a pleasure to deal with.
