Anybody got one?
How's it influenced your approach to the hobby?
Are Zoot suits ruining the hobby?
Are Zoot suiters fans of Malcolm Furlow or are they serious hobbyists?
Talk amongst yourselves.

Not unless they're in downtown Los Angeles during the 'forties getting beaten up by the U.S. Navy, LOL!

All I know is the Swing revival in the years before the turn of this century didn't last long, but did give us the cool song "Zoot Suit Riot".
Anyone modeling 1:24 scale, well they can get a Homie Zoot Suited figure
Yesssss! Reminds me of one of my favorite off-beat flicks, The Mask.
Next operating session, ask everyone to wear a Zoot Suit. It will save on refreshment costs, and you won't have to do any prep, either.
Now, back to our regularly scheduled programming of Railroading in the 1920's...
It takes an iron man to play with a toy iron horse.
I prefer steam zoot suits to diesel zoot suits.
Steam has fewer wrinkles, as the steam gets them out.
Basic black so soot won't ruin the zoot's color.
Neater, more action...maybe not cleaner, but definately a classic!
I prefer to work on my layout in my zoot suit. Comfortable. Weathering powders just brush right off. CA does not stick to it. Inpenetrable to Polly Scale paints. Makes airbrushing a breeze~!
Everyone who is serious about this hobby should have a zoot suit, the benefits are tremendous, anyone who is not a can see that!

Just my thoughts, ideas, opinions and experiences. Others may vary.
HO and N Scale.
After long and careful thought, they have convinced me. I have come to the conclusion that they are right. The aliens did it.

Impossible! Everyone knows that the only thing CA will not stick to is the thing you're modelling!

Guess it depends where you live, Royal Crown Reveiw, Big bad Voodoo Daddy, are still playing along with a bunch of other really hot bands. We still have Big Bands playing Swing music every Friday night on an outdoor stage here in Pasadena, always gets a couple hundred people showing up and dancing, Swing is still very much alive here, we were taking swind dance classes on and off until my Planter flared up in my foot, its alot of fun and for all you single guys, its a great way to meet the ladies!
For all you wouldbe hipsters in LA area:

Have fun with your trains
Zoot suits will be the ruination of model railroading because they will bring back horn hook couplers and dyed sawdust grass. Mark my words.

Then Latin dancing took over the 'current hot fad' after that, although it too had been drawing (huge) crowds under the radar for decades before (I went to a number of shows drawing big crowds at Studio 84 - yes, '84', and Club Broadway in the '80s).
Yeah, Latin Salsa has gotten bigger here also, but I still prefer swing.
"for all you single guys, its a great way to meet the ladies!"Hmm, I reserve comment on this - it hasn't been true in my experience (and definitely forget dancing lessons at the local high school or community college, unless you're looking for women 65 and over...)
Like I said, depends where you live.
