Tom, I just love the look of an articulated rounding a curve.  Even if it's prototypically too tight a curve, (is it?  I dunno.)  the shot shows up the engine's unique capabilities so nicely.

Wayne, the problem is the '&' sign in "C&O Fan."  Edit it to "C and O Fan" and it will work.

I've been having some fun with DPM's First National Bank building.  I found a Miller Engineering sign on sale, so I decided the building would be a Hotel.  For a while the working name was "Bergstrom Hotel," after our dear moderator-in-chief, but I was listening to Oldies Radio and this came up instead:

Upstairs, there's a pretty little thing, waiting for The King, down in the Jungle Room:

Mr. Beasley--

Thanks.  The curves are 34" and 36" radius on my layout, so there's not that much overhang, though I have to be careful taking the inside radius on a couple of my passing tracks if I'm running around a train of 50' automobile cars, LOL!   But those old Akane articulateds can take a 24" radius with no problem--however the overhang is something ELSE!

Probably, for an articulated the size of my Yellowstones, a more prototypical curve would be a 48" or so radius, but I don't have that much room in the garageBlush [:I]

PS:  Love the hotel.  Are those--er, ah--'hourly' rates, LOL?

I've finished a few turnouts at the fourth segment of Diamond Valley. This is a turnout at the scrap yard.

The throw bar is from  PROTO:87. The target is movable, of course.     Smile [:)]

Wolfgang, that target is something I have been looking long and hard for and haven't found.  Obviously it exists....!  Can you give me more info on it, like part number. manufacturer, etc...

Thanks!

I've been building up my reefer train and it presently stands at 41 cars - here are two pictures of it running this afternoon on the club layout, behind my IM AC12 and Bachmann GS4, both equipped with Tsunami sound decoders:

Lookin' gooooooooooood!

I've been finishing up the farm scene (hope you folks can take a couple more quick snapshots of the area..... promise I will do some good high quality photos as soon as I get a chance.)

The pasture across the road from the farmhouse is basically done.

A close up (with a tiny little area actually in focus...LOL)

Also been busy assembling the coaling tower.  This is just a test fit.  Once finished the whole thing will get a coat of dullcoat and some heavy weathering to get rid of the plastic look, although the basic colors Walthers used aren't really bad......

And an overview of the whole yard area. (Sorry about all the junk in the photo, but I didn't want to take the time to clean up as I am still working there.)

I have to say Out of all the Steam locos I've seen this one tops the list at the most unique. I love it. It looks so cool. I am modeling more modern of course but should I ever change to steam I will defantly have to try and track one of these down.

The new A&P warehouse just outside the limits of the Hudson Highlands Railroad's main yard in the City of Jacksboro, NY.

Note the shelving and stock visible through the open loading dock doors when you enlarge the image.

Thanks everyone for the positive comments! I have always liked having trains run under my bed, but this is a temporary thing while i build my benchwork. Here is another shot of a different intermodal with UP and NS power also under the bed!

Brian--

That AC double-heading the GS with the reefer train is just a BEAUTIFUL photo!  Oboy, does that bring back fond memories of watching Espee action on the Coast Line back in the late 'forties, early 'fifties.  Excellent work!

Thanks for the complement, Tom - I'm very jealous of your memories!  The Coast Line in the mid-50s sums it all up, as far as I'm concerned.

Wolfgang, I watched a couple of the videos on your website and must congradulate you on such a fine job, on the videos and on the layout.  I noticed, while watching your switch engine work, that you had 'no hands' uncoupling.  Do you use track magnets?  It looked like it worked very well!

Packers #1,

Are you using an undecorated engine and adding a yellow stripe?  How are you keeping the stripe so straight on such a small engine?

The "quotes" don't like symbols in  a user name.

~ ! @ # $ % ^ & * ( ) _ - ? etc, in a user name, will give that error.

Santa Fe ocassionally diverted onto Burlington and vice versa due to floods or derailments; so I'm okay. However, I do run Eastern railroads' power once in a while. I doubt many Pennsy T-1's operated in Nebraska for example, but I have one I operate anyhow.

It's kinda hard not to when you managed to repaint all the windows on an engine. Anyway, this is what I did today.

An overview,. the cars on the right have been there for a week. I was trying to buzz the roof off of Athearn undecs to make a dome Observation. All it did was melt into string chese. But this is what I'm working with.

Shelf vuiew of the RBBX flatcars. Some need assembly, but I think they're ready for the Seargent couplers when they rerelease and decals.

This is a Walthers caboose on a mushroom can. The can is whart I used for my testors paints before I picked up a spraycan. This will become our Church caboose. on the bottom tyou'll notice the cross stovepipe with the piece of sprue on top. It's gold. I'm going to put stained glass in the windows made on comp. The BL2 with the window problems is next door to the mushroom can. I'm gonna try to pry the window out and soak them in thinner tomorrow.

My turntable. Mom got it at Walmart. I can paint of top, pick cars up with toothpicks or wait till it dries some, then move it to the bottom shelf to continue drying and paint above it again. And the paint hood is a cardboard box.

Not as much fun as running trains, but this has been fun day.
