Haven't seen one started yet..
One from a few years ago..
Hi,
Not a whole lot of progress on the Bronx Terminal in the last while, but I did add some roadbed to the top.
The roadbed precisely matches the track I have already built and I can use this as an aid in aligning all the sections when its installed.
I also gave the top, including the roadbed a coat of brown paint to seal it all in. It may be a while until I have the trackwork installed and in the meantime this looks better than bare plywood.
I have a few more shots of the progress on my site below.

Terry--
You lied, it's BRASS, LOL!! Seriously, I think your second run Rivarossi has even MORE detail than my first run. Especially that first shot--by golly, that's one tall, beautiful lady, isn't she? Great shots!

Been extremely busy with re-doing trackwork, I just got my new NCE power-pro, so I want to re-wire the layout, then I decided that my trackwork is not what I really want, so to expand the yard the way I wanted, the town had to be moved, things have gotten crazy.
This is where the town used to be:

It is so nice to see all the variety in vision and execution here each weekend. Terry, in spite of our mutual issues with the Allegheny, I hope you are enjoying it. I really like the model very much. It is huge, dwarfing the Y-6b and Challenger.
I return this week to an old favourite, although slightly modified in terms of saturation, and I think I cropped it as well.
Some nice lookin' locos here this week.
While this one's not mine, I did do all of the work on rebuilding it, an old Akane USRA 2-10-2:

OOH! the building looks nice in front. I've been imagining a similar scene for when the layout gets built. Who made the Zephyr?
The rest of you need to move the engine pics to the Trains forums where they belong.

I'm going to break my own rule and quote your entire post, pic and all. I love it!!!
Grampy,
If Super is running 25.9, how much is diesel?? I'm guessing about 8 cents per gallon? If so, I'm on my way with my pickup for a cheap fill up!

Research; it's not just for geeks.
Really great photos as usual--I LOVE that under-the-bed Intermodal!
Well, working with my old computer this weekend, the new one decided to act like a Prima Donna, and I retired from accompanying them, so I'll just let it wait out its snit. Unfortunatuely, this older one doesn't have Adobe Flash installed, so my Photobucket photos can't be edited. Anyway, here's some I took today of my new Yellowstone (the ex-Basket Case) on her maiden run with a late-October reefer extra.
Picking up her train from 4-8-2 #1527. Sisters #3903 and #3910 are waiting for their own eastbounds to come in. It's gonna be a BUSY day around here.

It sure is cool seeing images of your layout, Tom. Two thumbs way up!
Simon and Grampy, really nice work! I enjoyed that.

I've had this kit for a couple of years. I liked the looks of it, so I bought it.
I opened the box a month ago to start building it. I found out it would be a little more involved than I thought. Instead of precut pieces, it's just wood and brass etchings. It did have die cut cardstock patterns however!
I glued the sheets of siding together that evening. The next night I cut the siding to size, then boxed the kit back up.
Tonight, I got the kit back out, and cut out all the doors and windows. 4 hours, 3 exacto blades, one blister and no wounds!
Maybe I'll get the walls together tomorrow.

Jake: How often does the train go by? Elwood: So often you won't even notice ...
I got nothing this weekend. I've lost my train room to my brother in law for the next couple of weeks while he is staying with us to go to school. I only get to look at my trains right now and jump online every now and then.
As Always great work and pics by everyone.

SD60M, now you have the best retort to people who complain about not enough space for their layout!
Great photos everyone!
i'm kind of reluctant to post some of my stuff on here.....LOL!!!! you guys have done some amazing stuff!!
here goes!
here's a pic of a scene on my old layout before i read kalmbach's (lou Sassi) book on scenery and using real leaves for forest floors, and before i learned how to use my camera properly without the flash!!!
here's another overall view....(note to self...install backdrop before doing scenery and taking pictures!!) can you tell im horrible at making structures? LOL
and now that that layout is gone, im slowly mking progress on my new layout, but i seem to be stuck going in circles......... almost done...2 more levels to go!!!!

No need to be reluctant. WPF is supposed to be fun and for the most part is. Always nice to see other people's work.

Nope, Can't tell but I'll take your word for it . I'm sure there arepeople out there that you are better at it than..
Anybody that can build a Helix can do model buildings.. Looks a lot like the one I had on a previous layout.. Good job!

Thanks, Terry. To be honest, I'm not really sure. I took a bunch of photos of that loco the day that I finished working on it. My camera has no adjustment for f-stop, so the depth-of-field in close-ups is pretty limited. I did have the camera set for a close shot and tried to take a fairly straight-on view by placing the camera right on the layout. There is a chance that I took it through the lense of my Opti-Visor, although I usually reserve that for close-ups of details. Maybe it was just a lucky shot.
Here are two more views of the same loco on my layout, taken by the owner of the loco, using his better-quality camera:
If anybody is interested, you can view in-progress pictures of the rebuild of this loco
HERE
If you're on dial-up, though, it's probably best not to bother, as there are lots of pictures.
