Santa Fe fans, look away.....

If you have been following along with me you know that I have a ATSF SD45 I wanted to patch. Well I got around to patching one side. I'll post more photos when I get farther. I still have to do the nose and the other side.

The SD45 I'm modeling was one of the very few that kept it's orginal number, but ran around in WC reporting marks.

Being an old Conrail fan, I take a kind of morbid interest in paint outs...  I like to slow down for car wrecks on the highway, too...Mischief [:-,]

A ConRail fan?  Is that a PennCentral Fan that finally got over it?

Nice SD45...Always was one of the better looking schemes for a WC SD45 to be in (besides WC itself, of course.)

Thank you guys!

What I wanted was for the blue to be a bit lighter than the blue on the model. It's hard to tell in that photo. But in this Next Photo you can tell.

I messed up a little bit on the nose decals, but I'll fix that later. The WC on the battary box on the side of the cab, I messed up the "W" along time ago. I'll fix that later too.

Here are some of my other Patch Projects I woudl like to do.

Another Style of Patching on the SD45s. This was more common.

Possiably a BN SD45. This BN SD45 was one of the last Green Weenies on the WC.

That will about do it for the 45 model series. I will also be doing a few SOO and Algoma Central Locomotives.

It was easy to get over Penn Central!  Funny you spelled ConRail like that, it was the original spelling.

See... If they had DCC, that engine would only move if you WANTED it to move!

I guess I'm showing my advanced age.  I'll never be over PC.  I wonder if there are any CSX or NS locos old enough to have been repainted through four or five owners?

Shot this one in Seaford, DE last week.  The chicken wire radiator grilles and the short fuel tank give it away as an original PC engine...  Not sure of the original road number.

Given that PC merger took place 40 years ago (geez! That long?) I doubt there are many PRR or NYC engines still running for NS or CSX.  There's probably a ton in short line service, though.

Your advanced age?  Why, young man, I knew PC's parents, Pennsylvania and New York Central.  A fine couple they were, too.  No bride ever looked as beautiful pulling her train down the aisle as a GG-1.

I've seen GG-1s...lived around the corner from Traffic Ave in Queens from 1962-1979.  LIRR and Pennsylvania had an interchange track that met under the BMT Myrtle Avenue line.  My sons are young, but I'm about to hit 50, believe it or not.
