My Glenrock scenery base is in work, with this chunk to be installed behind the tracks after I'm done carving it:

I also installed the first section of benchwork for the second level (a major milestone!), with the help of a friend. Below you can see the now fully rough-cut section of scenery base temporarily set in place behind the tracks. This will get additional shaping before it's installed permanently.

Don, I'm convinced you photoshopped a real rock onto your layout! Great work!Bow [bow]

Garry, I was never really a fan of those locos, but they sure look great on your layout!Thumbs Up [tup]

Tyler,

Absolutely no PhotoShop involved.....real plaster was mixed, poured into molds and stuck on the hill while wet.

Thanks for the compliment.

Great looking trees.  Here's another vote for a tutorial.

This idea just came to me a few hours ago ..... what I enjoy looking for along the right of way is relics, or signs of the past that could tell quite a tale. Here on the Allegheny & Cumberland, we have a few such places. On the east end of M&K Jct, there is the foundation with grass & weeds sprouting through the cracks of what was probably a small freight station or some sort of yard office perhaps from the glory days of steam. Still the same, it's nice to see a few other relics still in service gaining momentum as this eastbound leaves for regions beyond !

Garry;

First I must apologise for not seeing this sooner. Been under the weather.Ashamed [*^_^*] The forum would not let me quote you. Kept giving me "non matching quote blocks in post", even if I just hit quote and then preview, strange.Confused [%-)] Oh well.

I do like the E5's!

Down here in the Sunny South, we normally don't get much CB&Q on the modeling front, much less those E5's.

We do have one foo,,,err modeler, yea thats it, modelerWhistling [:-^] who does model the CB&Q, and he has a set of those E5's.

I recently did some paint and kitbashing work for him.

This was an SW1500 that I turned into an SW-1000. Not a real match but was more than close enough for him, as he said he was very satisfied.Big Smile [:D]

And this is a 65 ton Centercab.

The SW is Athearn BB and the Centercab is Overland.

That weird message comes up because the forum software doesn't like the ampersand character (&) as part of the User Name in the quote block.  "Heartland Division CB&Q" is one of those.

Next time you get that message, change the & to "and" so that it will work.  There may be other special characters like this, but this is one I know about.

Thanks Jeffrey!Smile [:)]These are a different technique than the ones you have. I took a bunch of pics when I did these, so let me get them organized and I'll post a "how to" hopefully by the weekend.

Thanks for the comments all!

Loathar--

Me FOUR!  I really need to 'thin out' some of those clumpy fall trees on my layout, and your trees look like just the ticket.  Really NICE!

Wow, this WPF has run into Thursday--we must ALL be on a roll, LOL!
