Ouch Rob! The price of being healthy these days. I have an appt set for tomorrow to look at my knee!

Hey PC, that is a neat little car you looking at there! Speaking of cars did you all hear about a new ethanol they are trying to develop from wood chips. If this gets off the ground railroads might see an uptick in the number of chip loads, check out the video, it's about a new ethanol fuel that could start selling for $1.50 a gallon in 2010.

Hey Jerry thanks! I just added my first recipe to the Cajun blog this morning, check it out. And yea, we are getting some rain right now too, supposed to be thunder storms later in the day too.

Good Morning, Zoe - I'll have a helping of Bill T.'s breakfast buffet and a cup of coffee, plus a glass of Ed's OJ, please. Thanks, PC!

Rob, that tooth problem doesn't sound like any fun at all! Hope you get with the oral surgeon soon as possible (or sooner).

PC, you do realize that with the color of that Porsche, it could be a ticket magnet for your local police, right? See if you can find something in a less obvious color; that might allow you to be less (ahem!...) noticeable. Whistling [:-^]

Uh, JR and CN Charlie, I'm with Ryan - I never have any MESS(tm)es around my place at all. Uh huh, Yeah!! [yeah] (and I'm stickin' with that story!)...Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

Got some rain today here, but it's fading away to the Northeast of us. Which means our Ohio Valley folks may be next in line - and later, Dick and JP and our Nova Scotians (who are MIA for now...?) may be getting some dampness. I think we got this batch from Jeff or Paul, but I'm not for sure which one.

Back to my breakfast buffet for me. Got to get PC's money's worth, right? Wink [;)]

Blessings on your day,

***Well, just got back from the Dentist's office and $125 later (for Xrays), there is nothing they will do for me.SoapBox [soapbox] I will need an Oral Surgeon. Oh Joy!Mischief [:-,] At least I talked them into a perscription for something that might knock down the infection. Looks like 2 different abscess teeth and one is obviously hitting the nerve. Gotta say, I have never experienced this much tooth pain in my entire life. No wonder my BP has shot up to around 183/104. I really need some sleep. Pardon my rant.

***Philip, that looks like a neat, fun little car.

Oh, BTW, I went and looked at a car last night.  Don't think I'll buy that particular one, but I like the car in general.  I went and saw a Porsche 914.  I've always liked them (it's like a go kart on steroids), and this one was OK, but it's a bit more work then I have time for right now.  I'll be keeping my eye out for one in better shape.......maybe one of the six cylinder models.  I might even go with a V6 or a Subie conversion.  Who knows?  This one last night was a 2.0 four cylinder powered car, so it has the big four, but like I said, it's just a bit more of a project then I need right now in my life.  Here's a pic of last nights candidate: http://i18.ebayimg.com/01/i/000/ef/1b/c0e8_12.JPG

Not atall PC! I don't mind if you do, so thanks!

That breakfast buffet that Bill put up looks like an "All You Can Eat" Whistling [:-^] So...I'll have some of that...Dinner [dinner]

Take care of that tooth Rob! I'm calling the doc today about my knee, it still hurts and I need some meds for it!

I got 19 years before I reach my ORF years (I hope it's only 19 years) so, I'll keep all the ORF comments from Paul, Dick, Ed and such in my back pocket for future reference! Wink [;)]

I noticed the latest shipment he recieved from Intermountain all prices are up a dollar on each car. Just like everything else today the prices are going up. BTW regular unleaded gas is 3.72 a gallon this morning and diesel is 4.31.     OUCH

N Scale Diesels......I like 'em

Good Morning All,

Mild but rainy here today. I'll have a regular and a donut to go please Zoe. I was too tired to do much last evening so I spent some time running and cleaning track (I'll do the whole thing and polish once I finish ballast/ground cover on and around the tracks). Also started to tackle the bench where all the construction happens. I either need to clean more often or hire a cleanup person to take care of the messes. Speaking of messes has anyone heard from Fergie, Luc or DerJohn ?

Jerry - the station on the curve is an accurate model of Danburys' which is built on the outside of a loop track that encloses the freight yard here. I'll get more pics next time I'm there.

Rob - Hang in there. Hopefully you'll get to see the doc today. Been where you are and it's not fun

Jeff - nice job on the tanker. If you do more, pics are in order for sure.

Lots to do again today so I'd better get after it. Catch y'all later. J.R.

Anyone have a pair of pliers handy? No sleep yet, tooth is killing me. Even a leftover oxycodine pill (saved for an emergency) didn't do much. Never thought I would look forward to seeing a Dentist as much as I do right now. Hope he can take me tomorrow, otherwise it will not be until Tuesday. Found some lidocaine which should numb it long enough for me to fall asleep.

Farrier is scheduled to be here today, around the same time as some potentially severe thunderstorms. Could get interesting.

Going to go lay back down. Have a good day all.

Model Railroader June 2008.  Page 28, upper right corner.  item 89921 Auxulary water tender, ASST Roads, 19.99

I see a few tenders there listed as DCC ready, does that mean the tender has a speaker mount already installed?

Good morning all.

Today: A chance of showers, mainly after 11am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 60. North wind between 7 and 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Tonight: Showers likely. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 45. East wind between 9 and 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

Friday: A chance of showers before 1pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 60. Northeast wind between 14 and 17 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Friday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 42. Northeast wind around 8 mph.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 62. North wind between 5 and 13 mph.

Saturday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 45.

Paul, funny thing about my insurance; when I went online and did the "let insurance companies compete for your business" where they send your information to a hundred insurance firms, nobody could touch the rates I have.  The funny part, State farm called me and they couldn't match it.  I've had SF since 1987 and the longer you stay with them the more discounts you get.  Between no claim and the longevity of my account I get 50% off on my house and truck insurance.

Jeff, again nice job on the tank car.

***Philip, hot or cold anything aggravates the bad tooth. Will call the Dentist back tomorrow to make an appointment. Wanted to make sure I could have the extraction done on one of my wife's days off, incase something arrises on the ol' farm. Also, didn't want this to interfere with the Inlaws move to the new location early next week.

I'll have a room temp glass of water, please & thanks.

The new Herritage 0-8-0 arrived today. Wonderful detail and a decent runner as well. I expect after a break in period, I'm really going to enjoy using it for some minimal switch work around a factory. Only one complaint, the teeny tiny washer & screw you have to install which holds the drawbar of the tender to the loco. After repeatedly dropping one or both pieces over and over and over again, I finally got them lined up. Then the screw head stripped out, but it is in enough to function and I am cerainly not going to try removing it...."ever". That aside, I still give it Thumbs Up [tup]Thumbs Up [tup].

Healing thoughts to those in need.

Have a good night all.

Sorry, Paul.  I was out in my California Basement getting my Basket Case Yellowstone put back together after painting it (it looks okay), working on my new ash-pit, then adding some details to my Tichy gondola kit (the ash-pit car), then painting my new old-timey conveyers for the ash-pit, then wondering why my Keyboard decided to quit.  Been quite a day, LOL!  Borrowed a keyboard from my neighbor, who has a garage full of 'em, but this one sucks air, so it's off to Business World, or whatever my local computer company is called, to get a new keyboard tomorrow.

Hey, if this is what the first three days of retirement is going to be like, I think I might go back to teaching just to rest up, LOL!

Afternoon Gang: I just noticed that I opened and closed page 78. Do I get anything special for that like maybe a discount?

The storms haven't arrived yet but we are under several weather warnings. There was some rain this morning.

Jeff the tank car really looks good. The trucks are just right. I agree with dick that the bottom of the tank needs a little bit. You are good.

We're all going in to Ft. Worth for supper tonight. We'll also stop at a woodworking store and look for a router bit to make the trim that I can't find.

Lee I hope that you are feeling better. I'm sorry to hear about your friend and the others. I just went through that and it isn't easy. Did you ever check into USAA for cainsurance? I got with them 41 years ago when I was made a Warrant Officer. Back then it was for officers and warrants only. Now they have aprogram for NCOs. They are very good.

I'll stop back in later.

OK Jerry, there is only one thing left to do if the CFO won't give up and more LR space......you start planning an addition to the house. Now she probably won't like that either, so you tell her that you are going to move your layout OUT of the LR so that she can have the entire room back and maybe even remodel it ( see women like to do those things and they all excited ). You will have a nice room all to yourself. Additions are easy, and you can do most of the work yourself. Just get someone to do the tie in rough work, and you can do the inside sheetrock, electrical, heating expansion...piece of cake Jerry.

Dick If you do what you always did, you'll get what you always got!! Learn from the mistakes of others, trust me........you can't live long enough to make all the mistakes yourself, I tried !! Jeff, that may be your best weathering job yet!  Very nice!

Might I suggest that the bottom black portion of the tank itself get weathered a bit more?  It looks almost too clean compared to the rest of that fantastic paint job.

I have some good prototype pics to use as a guide if you'd like...........
