Large coffee in a SOUTHERN mug, please & thanks.
***RT, CONGRATS on the new house. Let's see, the smallest room for the office, then the Master bedroom, leaving the largest for your train room.
***Philip, "kick back".(your choice of meanings)
***Fergie, my heart goes out to you. That can be a very lengthy and taxing ordeal, full of tough decisions.
***CN Charlie, we aquired some excellent vacuum cleaners when I moved the Inlaws household for them (they only had close to a dozen...crazy). I will e-mail you with the brands later. There is a huge difference between brands & models.
High of 77 w/ 70% chance of thunderstorms. Hope it pours.

Good Mornin', Janie - I'll have a burger and Dr. Pepper, thanks!Jerry, that is awesome work on that turntable. Any way you could add a small engine terminal on another section/sheet of plywood and fit it on there? While back, one MR article on building your own turntable also mentioned using a phone jack for the pivot! So you are every bit as smart as the MR writers. Hey, Ryan - PC doesn't have to worry about the pies. Chloe said she still has several HO and O scale pans in the kitchen!
Cederstrand wrote:Now Jerry, if you could turn them out quick enough, the Diner could supply you with plenty of "parts". Awe heck, just toss it all in a box and sell it as a kit! And a very tasty line of turntables that could be, Rob!

Jerry, was that a pie crust turntable lining, or the start of a cherry one? Gav, you'd better not let your 'angels' know about the lightning conductor, or they'll come up with some way to play around with it and burn the place down...Hey Colby, just find you some cool frames to go with your glasses - they'll make you look smart for the gals.
On the glasses and exercising one's eyes, I'd love it if that helped my glaucoma... I used to have 20/15 vision when I was a kid - for whatever reason we used the terms reversed in Missouri. On my 20/15, I could read stuff at 20' that most people had to come in to 15' to see. Ah, to be young again (well, maybe not...).
Had a thunderstorm go through our area around suppertime last night. Bunch of rain for a while, and some noisy lightning strikes while I was in our Staples store. Their computers and lights flickered, so it took a bit for the 'puters to get started back up. Then apparently their connection to the financial network wasn't back up, as it didn't get past asking me if I wanted any extra cash from my debit card I was paying with; just sat there until it said on the signin terminal screen "Please try alternative payment method" (I didn't have extra cash on me at the time). Maybe there'll be enough rain left over by the time it gets to your neck of the woods, Dick. These were some dark, black clouds...
Oh, I went back by Staples this morning, but now I wish I'd've had the cash last night. Last night when the clerk pulled up the price on the boxes I was going to buy, it was $4.something for three of them (12X12X18"), but today the computer said they were $8 and a half or so. Shoot!
Lee, those steel mill cars are something else! Thanks for posting those.
So RT, I'm guessing you are reserving the biggest bedroom for the layout, right? At least, I'd think along the lines of Rob's suggestion. Congratulations on getting the house signed up (and prayers that it goes through soon and smoothly for you)! Let us know when the housewreckingwarming will be, okay?
Fergie, whatever it was, that sure did some damage on the ship's propellor! Hope you get things lined out for your Dad's estate and all. Good that you're having decent weather up there.
Terry, what is it with your area's weather? Snow? In mid-April? I could see it if you lived by CN Charlie or Johnboy, but shouldn't Minnesota be starting to think about warming a little bit.....???
And I see Hoople's heading out for another train show excursion, so I think I'll go visit our LHS. I got brownies baked for our singles dinner tonight (after the volleyball in late afternoon). The dinner will be at my buddy Mark's house - fish fry, and we bring the side dishes. Yum!
I'd best get going for now. Probably may not be back in until tomorrow. Then again, our MRR club's meeting at one of the member's place to run trains in the afternoon, so it might be late tomorrow afternoon...
Blessings on your Saturday,
Jim in Cape Girardeau
Hi,gang.

Hello everyone.
I like Jerry's turntable. Almost as good as key lime pie.
I'm glad to see RT's news.
CN Charlies has a really nice consolidation evidently.
I like Jeff's gas station photo.
Also, good to see the bottle car photos, Lee.
My thanks to Gav, Jim, and Lee for their comments. My operation will be Thursday, and all should be okay with that.
I've completed the station I showed a few days ago, and it's looking better now. I am working on the layout so I may place teh sation on it.

Good evening guys, another beauty of a day here, but I fear it will be the last for a while. Cloudy and showers tomorrow, and heavier rain on Monday into Tuesday morning, but we sure need it, many brush fires still rage here in New England.
JIM: Yup, your storm will hit us somewhat Sunday and heavier rains on Monday. I see Cape Gerardeau quite a bit on the Weather Channel lately, they like the Cape I guess. So what are buying at Staples these days?
RT: That is great news on el rancho grande!! And as for the CC pie, you had better look again, I made a beeline for the Frig before Fergie could even get out of his booth. HOWEVER...the pie was 95% eaten!!! OK, was that Hoople again ?? Or maybe Sue?
CNCharlie: Will Spring ever come up there for you? How much snow is still on the ground?
OK, time to hit the sackaroo, see you g uys at breakfast..
Evening Gang:
RT that's great news. A train room with a house attached. I hope now the VA comes through for you.
Fergie That may be why the oceans levels are rising. On the lakes though the levels have been very down for the last couple of years. There have been a couple of very interesting wrecks uncovered because of that.
Lee it seems to me that if my ship had lost a 16 ton rudder I'd have let someone know. Of course it may have been so long ago that no one remembers.
The meet was a hugh success. We had very few derailments and they were minor. The track ran smooth. Everyone had a great time and the dinner was really good. Becayse of the storms predicted for tonight starting around midnight most of the folks loaded up early.usually we leave everything out and load in the morning. John ran my locomotive and train this afternoon when things slowed down. Baby Lara got her first train ride. She was wide awake when it left the station but was fast asleep shortly there after. John also gave Diane her first lesson in running the locomotive. Tomorrow I'll have to go back over and clean uo the locomotive and maybe fire up before that. I haven't run it since last October. I hope that I haven't forgotten how.
Well I'm going to head for bed.
Good Night All

I like pie. Sounds good after a day of working on fence outside. Gotta have sunshine.
How was the train show, Mark? We just couldn't face driving up to Puyallup.
No train activities today, but maybe tomorrow.

Good morning, cloudy day today and we got "some" relief for the extreme fire danger, a whopping 0.02" of rain overnight, that's correct, two-hundreths of an inch! By the time that Cape Gerardeau LOW got here and banged up against the Nova Scotia humongeous HIGH pressure system with it's extreme dry sinking air, the water vapor just vanished. Tomorrow may be a different story however, because the RH is now up to 85%, so the air is becoming saturated, so when the next LOW arrives tomorrow afternoon, we cpuld get up to 3" of badly needed rain.
I see that CMT ( via intermountain) is taking reservations on FP9's!!! How many of you guys have FP9's in your fleet??
HOOPLE: Hey, all I know is, RT said he made a Chocolate Cream pie, and no one had even taken a bite out of it in the frig. Then I go to get a piece and it is nearly gone, and the only person sitting near the Frig was Mark. Now if your covering for someone who raided the frig, better let RT know. How was the train show ? Did you buy any equipment?
I see that CSX had another accident, not their fault, a semi decided to do battle with a freight, what a mess, cars everywhere and RR personnel injured. The Semi driver was not injured, but he will be charged with reckless driving at the very least.

I should check where I land. Looks like I have been paying since last evening. I am afraid that we polished off the pie, Philip, but how about breakfast. If we line up for the buffet, we can all have our favorites. Where is Ryan? He usually has good suggestions on breakfast. You all are probably starting to think about brunch.
grayfox1119 wrote: SUE: " White Cascade" ????????????
Dick, I may wait for it to come out on audio. After I finish all my dental hygiene journals, I don't have much time to just sit and read. I listen to lots of books in the car or while doing something else.
Jim, I will stop by for a RBF this afternoon.
Good morning All...Its sunny and cooler her this morning weather guesser says we might get some frost tonite...Just coffee for me please...thank You..Just got up from a big Breakfast that Sallie and Tootie made....Mosie and Tootie spent the night and were gonna take them home this afternoon...Mosie says she only come to see us to watch cable LOL!!...Here is Tootie at the trottle this morning

You all have a good one.....Jerry
Mornin' all!
Dark Roast this morning ladies please and thanks.
Im still workin away on my background trackside building (scratchbuilt). Its a slow patience filled process, but im hoping to be satisfied with the building in the end. Im leaning towards a tropicana facility as i will be modeling CSX. Ill post some photos later of my progress, but for now, im gunna go read the newspaper and enjoy this nice coffee.
Happy Model Railroading,
Keith
A large coffee in a UNION PACIFIC mug, please & thank you.
***Lee, is the rest of your family into trains, too? Have fun and I look forward to your help when you have the time. pm or e-mail if you need any specifics from me. I do think planning for two tables (L shape) with a drop between them for the bridge is the way to go, even if I never finish it in this lifetime. Tempted to forget about the bridge all togther...just don't know. Thanks!
***Jeffrey, that is a cool night shot. What did you use for bulbs on that one?
***Dick, if you have any extra, send it down our way. It has been sprinkling here, but thus far the good cells are all missing our valley.
***Jerry, nice pic. I can't tell if Tootie is having fun or really concentrating or both?
I have attempted one last order with onlinetrains.com so hopefully their system will maintain my order and not have to refund my payment again. More N Unitrack for me and I added the HO version of an old pick-up truck to surprise my wife. She had been looking at one in N scale saying how it reminded her of one of our neighbors trucks and a must have for her layout. He's a crazy fella who talks to his dog (nothing unusual there, so do I) but his dog "talks back and tells him what to do". Wife thinks he's dangerous, I just see him as potential fertilizer.
After that sick Berkshire, I'll looking to try again with another vendor. My pfreference is undecorated, but haven't found any in stock anywhere that don't cost an arm and a leg. Tempted to get the "Virginian"...Anyone know where I can find the history on it?
Rob

Hello everybody...
If you're interested, I posted a picture in the imploded tank car thread. I took the picture after I was riding in the locomotive of the tank car train from Fairbanks to Anchorage. As we arrived in Anchorage, the guy in the tower radioed to the engineer that we had an imploded car in the consist. The train was fully loaded with flamable commodities. So, things could have been exciting if the tank car derailed.
Rob, are you getting good thoughts for the layout?
Jeff has antother neat photos with effective lighting.
Lee .... Hope you do well at the show. If you make regular trips to Warren, MI, you should meet up with Duke who lives north of there. Also, a visit to P&D Hobby Shop in Fraser, MI is a must.
Happy Model Railorading.........

That's an excellent book, I've almost finished it myself. It has the feel of a novel but is entirely non-fiction! Must read for GN Fans. I think the Wellington (renamed Tye after the disaster) is now off limits, due to flash floods originating in the old Cascade Tunnel.

Mark, evidence is not looking your way...
Alex
ALEX/GG : I totally agree, I couldn't put that book down, I hope more of the guys in the Diner get to read it. What a movie that would make !!
GARRY: It's a good thing that car didn't let go along the ridge tracks above the Nenana river just north of Denali!!! You would have been in the river!!
ROB: I wish I could Rob, but the weather systems go west to east unfortunately. Be careful what you wish for though, you live in a Valley. What is your street address, I'll look you up on the Satellite view on Microsoft's 3d view. These views are fantastic, if you put in Michael Ave, Cherry Valley for instance, you can see my house so well, that you see the gardens out back, the blue tarp covering my woodpile, even the sky lights and solar panels on the roof!!! I am in the garden, but I don't think you can magnify enough to see me without blurring.
SUE: I understand. By the time you read all your dental info, you want to sleep your eyes are so tired.
JEFF: Tsk, tsk, you hound dog...YOU ate the rest of that pie !!!! LOL
Downloaded the free version of AnyRail. Has (N) Unitrack and is quite intuitive (I think). Too bad it only allows 50 sections in the free version. Seems a very good product and was fun while it lasted. But with limited funds, I'd rather put that $50 price tag towards acquiring more track.
Has been raining very lightly on and off today, barely enough to water the pastures. We'll take whatever we can get.
***Dick, we live up on a hill, so flooding is never a concern. The pastures have only flooded 3 times in the 10+ years I've lived here. Usually takes a major hurricane to hit the coast and continue up to north GA as a heavy rain producer and then stall out over us for a couple days.
